So you haven't changed the front tyre yet ? Is it the same one that came with the bike ?

Do consider tyre change before forks set change. A tyre can appear to have good treads but the walls may become soft causing the bike to sway around.

you dont have to replace the forks unless they have scratches (causing frequent oil leaks) or damaged in an accident.
change the front tire and also check if the rim is 'tru' (i.e. a perfect circle.. well, at least almost)
get the forks overhauled, i.e. removed, oil drained, cleaned and put back with fresh oil and oil seals.
while you are at it, i'd probably say get the cone-set also changed.. some mechanics don't install the coneset correctly and it ends up causing handling issues after a couple of 1000km. ensure the bearing races are seated properly and that the ball bearings are greased well.. and the nut not over tightened.

Thanks for the reply, this is a new information to me. I will consider changing the tyres soon.

Thank you for the response I will ask my mechanic to check these... Previously he used to tell everything is fine.

                      Problem On Honda Shine

                      Hello Members,
I have a honda shine brought in 2009. i have done a cylinder boring on july but after that the bike sounds tick tick when accelerating from 40 onwards. show some local mechanic they told me that the sound is coming from the cylinder itself and also my bike through white smoke from silencer. what to do now and one more confusing thing is that is the knocking sound coming from cylinder.

Painting and upgrades for Honda Shine 2006 model

                        Hi All,

It been 16 years and Im still in love with my Honda Shine 2006 model. I feel I have done injustice in maintaining the bike and its time to give it some upgrades. Im looking forward to do the below to the bike.

I live in Virar and hence need assistance in finding someone to assist between Vasai-Virar.

                        1. Full body painting.
                        2. Shock absorbers - Front and Back - better quality as I travel a lot.

Also I need to know the color is changed to another, is it permitted by law and what are the clearances required.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I will upload some pics in a day or two.

I own 2008 Honda Shine. What is the grade of Fork Oil used ? How much quantity ? I don't see anything about fork oil in my old manual.

                          Thanks !

                            Honda shine issue

                            Hello all

i have been using honda shine 2012 model, since 4-5 month back it was running in good conditions, as i have been servicing it at honda workshop, but i am getting noise which is earlier not coming, after changing engine oil ( thought it may be solve issue) still problem persist, issue came after when bike was serviced by private mechanic ( he has tuned tensioner coz he told that timing chain is loose and right now tuning will do the job no need of replacement), since that time noise is coming and even though to identify exact problem i have shown it to different mechanic and they told noise of timing chain

so please suggest me a best solution for this... as this weird sound is irritating me......

expecting an effective solution from experts.

                              need help

                              Dear,

i have been using honda shine 2012 model, since 4-5 month back it was running in good conditions, as i have been servicing it at honda workshop, but i am getting noise which is earlier not coming, issue came after when bike was serviced by private mechanic ( he has tuned tensioner coz he told that timing chain is loose (due to which some tick tick sound coming at engine idle mode) and right now tuning will do the job no need of replacement), since that time noise is coming and even though to identify exact problem i have shown it to different mechanic and they told noise of timing chain

then after i have visited honda service centre almost 10 times ,every time they told timing chain sound is ok, but issue got growing, timing chain sound was ok but now some tick tick sound arise every time on startup of bike on some interval of parking, i shown this to honda sc but last time they told its due to tappet setting ,and they done some setting and on that day sound was not coming(may be engine was hot so sound come only when engine start at cold temp) from next day sound is coming .

i dont know how to make understand them of this tick tick sound ( its like some spare in engine is loose)

so please suggest me a best solution for this... as this weird sound is irritating me......

Help me find any way to stop the noise

                                Hello everyone,

I own Honda cb shine 2017 model. It's been almost 2 months since I bought this and I'm not able to sort the issue with the clutch wire. The wiring gets stuck while turning the handle bar. This happens when the clutch is fully pressed and I try to turn the handle. I've created a video so that it will be more clear to understand.

I don't know if it's a design flaw or maybe something is wrong with mine.

Apart from this, the bike is smooth to ride till 45-50kmph. The mileage I get is around 56-60 (Depending upon the traffic jams in Delhi).

                                Best Regards,
                                Antu
