I am eagerly looking forward to this ride update.

PS:- I hope you don't get pissed off reading our queries.

They are using Shell Engine Oil. Its regular oil, not the synthetic type. And Engine oil change interval as per manual is 12000kms, but i just spoke to the service rep and he said that they will be changing the oil every 6000kms given the riding conditions in India.

As for the ride to Lonavala update, i think this forum would be a good launch pad to vent out the ire after 2 hours of back seat driving, so, even i am looking forward to posting the update on that ride.

No issues dude, your queries are more than welcome.

Dude, i wouldnt even want to be caught dead with that Mod on my bike, rather take it to the cleaners on a daily basis. U can definitely have the last laugh and to keep you company i'll join in...... Muhahahahahahahaha.
On a related note, i think i need to have a word with eshan about what we keep deciding to do with you on this forum, considering you have not only committed the sacrilege of putting that obnoxious addon, but now you are also promoting it!!!!!

The obnoxious mod suits the obnoxious phatphati with the obnoxious rider
I prefer function over aesthetics - like i said, the mod is f-ing ugly but does the job

Since this is a Pune related discussion, i suggest we stop defiling this thread and take it back to the Pune thread, where everyone can join in

Owner's manual which is available online states something different, "Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with a minimum anti knock index of 87."

Wonder why the manual (in India) says 91 Octane. You will get the best power and mileage with the lowest octane you use without pinging. So, higher octane fuel like Speed 93 produces less power and it is only more useful in a high compression engine. Compression ratio in '12 N650 is 10.8:1 which is not a high compression engine and will work best with normal unleaded fuel available to us.

Only move to premium octane if you hear knocking. Wonder why service guys recommend 93 Octane

CR on my bike is 11.6:1 and runs happily on ordinary pump gas in any village .. No issues at all.

ANd now Power/premium fuels are 12 rupees costlier.

Mods: Why don't this thread gets renamed to "2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650" so that it remains in integrity of other thread names??

I am a little concerned about the ground clearance, 130mm, is it really a concern?

I did scrape the bottom of the bike once through a small pothole with pillion rider.so it can be an issue through bad roads.

Most important part of riding, the gear. Good to see so many xbhpians taking their safety so seriously. As for the Thunderbird.... i moved up from an FZ, hence i echo your sentiments.

Well about the GC, yes i have managed to scrape the bottom on 2 occasions and both have been on speed breakers with the pillion occupied. Individually when riding i have not had any issues with touching bottom. Slowing down really helps a lot with a pillion at the back.
