I know dude, 25k was really steep. Anyways i am actually thinking of changing over to Michelin Pilot Road 3 - the reviews online have been impressive. Lemme see if i can lay my hands on these here, or else will pick it up online. Not too kicked about Batallax. As for painful moments, i could see the glee in ur eyes winding up the R15 the other day. I better get the sensitivity levels lowered before the next G2G.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post

So you had finished your break-in period and one service.Originally posted by zimbly View PostI have just finished a little over 2400kms. I have been taking her everywhere, city, highways, bad roads, pathetic roads - u name it. So far other than a puncture, a little coolant level reduction and some mud/water entering the rear turn indicators, the experience has been WOW!!! I had a word with the service guys, they told me that replacement set of tyres would be costing 25000Rs approx - shocker. Anyways got a while before i will be changing the tyres. Probably will have to call for spares from overseas, will work out a lot cheaper.
i am having difficulty in getting the right RPM for changing gear. Could you tell me the right rpm for changing to 2-3-4-5-6 in break-in period

Hey kurianfiji, as far as changing gears is concerned, i maintained the 4000rpm run in limit for changing through the gears. more often than not, i changed up before this rpm. min rpm for upshift was 2000rpm in 1,2 n 3 gears and 2500rpm for 4, 5 n 6 gears. try and maintain your max rpm in any gear at 4000 in the running in period. in 6th gear 4000 corelates to 88kmph. when u say u are having difficulty, were you experiencing lugging due to low rpms or something else.Originally posted by kurianfiji View PostSo you had finished your break-in period and one service.

OOPs. today i was doing 125km/hr for few minutes rpm was 5000Originally posted by zimbly View PostHey kurianfiji, as far as changing gears is concerned, i maintained the 4000rpm run in limit for changing through the gears. more often than not, i changed up before this rpm. min rpm for upshift was 2000rpm in 1,2 n 3 gears and 2500rpm for 4, 5 n 6 gears. try and maintain your max rpm in any gear at 4000 in the running in period. in 6th gear 4000 corelates to 88kmph. when u say u are having difficulty, were you experiencing lugging due to low rpms or something else.
odo reading 300+
lugging do happen if you are in high gear and in low rpm
One more thing i want to confess. quit embarrassing really. i had dropped my baby twice
and the funny part almost in the same manner. i was just started the bike in parking and was about to move in the right direction. Suddenly i think i may have locked the handle completely on the right and the babe just fell down. Babe was so heavy that i could not do any thing about it. in-fact i have to call some one to help lift the babe.
The Damage by Gods grace not much. some minor paint was removed from the right fairing and some scratch which was rectified by polishing.
lesson learn...... Never ever turn the handle completely sideways and move the vehicle.

so finished a trip to bombay the other day. funnily enuf took the exit via toll road at panvel. nobody at the toll stopped me and before i knew it i was on the mum pun expressway, the last 5 or 6 kms. later realized that i was not supposed to be on that road n should have continued on the main NH 4. anyways seeing the open stretch of the expressway, i let her rip and touched 206kmph before coming back to sane speeds.
didnt realize i had reachd that speed till i looked down and saw those digits staring back at me. dead stable at those speeds. though the cacophony of sounds makes it hard to differentiate between engine wail, road noise, wind blast and the thumping beat of your heart...
@Mr ZMA welcome to the club. i am sure you are already having a blast with her. as for the frame sliders order them from prs mumai online. they will deliver them to u. cost is 9500 plus shipping for the r and g frame sliders.
as for the running in, i followed the rpm limitation laid down in the manual most of the time. occasionally u do tend to go a bit beyond the limits. idea of running in is to break in all the parts. so even though the manual says 4000rpm, dont keep it steady at that rpm. during the running in phase alter the rpm frequently to load the various components.

Nice to hear that you crossed the 200, must feeling like heavenOriginally posted by zimbly View Postso finished a trip to bombay the other day. funnily enuf took the exit via toll road at panvel. nobody at the toll stopped me and before i knew it i was on the mum pun expressway, the last 5 or 6 kms. later realized that i was not supposed to be on that road n should have continued on the main NH 4. anyways seeing the open stretch of the expressway, i let her rip and touched 206kmph before coming back to sane speeds.

Tell me one thing, how much speeds does she do in each gear at redline [not sure if u have redlined her]? In what gear does she do 100? By the way my first service is done, Motul 300v 15W 50 FS went in, I will update my ownership thread, dont want to hijack your bikes thread
.
how much has your bike run?
ZMA, stop worrying and just keep riding, the more you listen to such things the more you wont enjoy the bike. For my bike, I keep giving small bursts of power and then slow down, I havent crossed 6K rpm till date, I too hear some tik tik noise from the engine after 10+ kms of riding, I am not going to be concerned now, once the running in is done, I will have a blast and see if the sound increases, but I believe all is fine.Originally posted by Mr ZMA View Postthanx zimbly ..guys anybody who can make me come out of dilemma , as i'am getting "tik tik" noise which peculiar from engine<not to odd> at thorttle closing time...i'am using xtra premium fuel which i guess is 91 octane and its more evident after 15 to 20 kms.it has odo reading 400 kms till date... i got her not more then 6 k rpm generally , and normally 4 to 5 k rpms...is it the doubt i have or valve sound ....which i think is to early to comment ...to people who is not sure please dont confuse me as it is new and i n break in period...i haved riden other SBK'S but for normal ride say 5 to 10 kms...actualy owning your's makes you more consious.. also the engine sound is heavy for all middle weight and a litre segment...is it normal.. rest i have to weight till first service....

As soon as i finished the running in i have started redlining her in each gear for the next 1000 kms(ie 2600kms). 1st gear redline spd is 73kmph, 2nd gear is 105kmph. Cant remember the 3rd 4 th 5th gears.
As of now i have finished 3300kms.
Yeah i was following your link on the owners group FB page. I am still using the OEM mineral oil 10W 40. Will be changing to full synthetic when i get back from my sail after 3 months. The reason for not going full synthetic before was to ensure a good run in on mineral oil, also wanted to open her up completely before changing to full synth.
Looking forward to hearingabout the notable changes after switching to the synthetic oil.

Picked up the paddock stand for the rear from DSG. they have a couple of options. I picked up only the rear paddock as i decided to pick up the tyre chock for the front.
Cost of the paddock was Rs3500. They also have the option of purchasing a dual paddock, where the handle is common to both the front and rear and one can switch to either the rear or the front paddock at a time. Cost of that is 5500. This helps when u want to do maintenance on the front tyre. Also both type of paddocks come with adjustable mounts, so they cater to different bikes.
For the rear paddock, one needs to buy spools which cost an additional Rs1500.The front paddock comes with stud type mounts which fit directly under the front forks, no additional spools needed there.
Their paddock stands are the one from kraftwerks.Last edited by zimbly; 11-05-2012, 11:54 PM.

Man, I have been spending like crazy on her, need to control myself, I saw a Ninja [Service stations owner] with the Morrimotto HID at the workshop, looked cool and according to the owner are absolutely worth it. He has assured me that he will get them fitted onto the bike.
I am just waiting to go on a long ride, hope the weather gods show some mercy, I have decided not to take her out in rains unless absolutely necessary.
