Man, I have been spending like crazy on her, need to control myself, I saw a Ninja [Service stations owner] with the Morrimotto HID at the workshop, looked cool and according to the owner are absolutely worth it. He has assured me that he will get them fitted onto the bike.

I am just waiting to go on a long ride, hope the weather gods show some mercy, I have decided not to take her out in rains unless absolutely necessary.
Guilty as charged, that was me talking about emptying the tank. Actually doing that helps because here in india we dont get fuel stabilizers like in the west and the fuel lying idle tends to disintegrate, layer and the little water that may settle in at the bottom. Lot of stuff available on the net regarding this. Anyways, i have now decided that i am going to tank up and get the bike started every 2-3 days for 5 mins. That will rid the petrol at the bottom steadily.
I know the feeling of spending like crazy. Besides picking up gear for myself which was a necessity the spends on the add on the bike is like fueling a bottomless pit. Incase you figure out a way to stop the spending fill me on the trick.
As for morimoto, i have already looked the website and have shortlisted what i need to pick up when i head to the US next year. The stock bulbs definitely need replacement. Yeah i need to figure out a way to get Venkat to pune permanently. I guess its easier for me to ride to Bangy and get everything done there. Probably will do that the next time i am down from my sail.
Abt the rains, the issue i faced was the rear indicators filling up with water and muck thrown up from the rear tyres. The radiator gets dirty as hell. Lemme know once you have got the fender extender and/or radiator guard.

It is tough, really really tough. Today I had to control myself a lot from buying the Philips extreme vision, as I am sure, I will buy the Morrimotto too, I spent 10 mins at the parking lot deciding whether to buy it or not, finally decided not to .

The radiator guard is definitely a high priority along with the Morrimotto. All the best for your three months long sail, please keep posting.

      • Got a day in New Orleans, so did the best thing i could in one day, found a biking shop, paid a visit. ZX14, Z1000, ZX6R and the 2013 Ninja 650 all in a line. Orgasmic........ that too would be an understatement.
2013 Ninja in blue looks awesome. The front cowl housing the headlights is not body coloured in the 2013 Ninja, its Matt black, so is the front mudguard... looks very batmanish. I am getting tempted to source the fairing and the mudguard now, blacken the headlight reflectors and put projectors. I guess that is next mod due when i get back next time. Other that a few decals and slightly larger openings on the side of the fairing, the bike is exactly the same as the 2012 otherwise. Ofcourse ABS is the other difference.

        • Hello to all,
Despite being new to Xbhp membership, Have been following it for months.
After weeks of search and analysis, and confused between Ninja 250r and 650r, i have finally booked a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650r from Chandigarh. And very happy about it.Have owned a Pulsar 180 dtsi and RE Classic 500 before.
Fellow riders in chandigarh , anyone?
Before i take the delivery, can someone let me know if there is any pre delivery inspection list?

          Thanks.

          • hey flyboy,
congrats on the impending aquisition. Well the one thing that u need to do before taking delivery, is get the saree guard removed and replace it with a grab rail. Other than that there may be a few worrying issues like the light may fog up just after starting when in the showroom or riding in the rain. but this goes away shortly after. Incase u see this dont worry abt it.
other than that the regular PDI is fine, engine oil coolant levels. all lights working? When i took delivery of the bike it had 28kms on the odo. well i checked with some other owners and they too had abt 27-29kms, part of the bajaj PDI i guess.
Rest once you get the delivery, contain the excitement a bit and ride safely. she can fly, so dont overspeed during run in and easy on the throttle. enjoy the experience and look up 650 owners group on FB and put in a request to be added. lot on info there abt the bike.
            all the best

            • Thnks zimbly,

Have gone through this thread and read about the the add ons and mods. Have decided to go for following right away, Just need suggestions regarding where and how buy :-
              1. Riding Gear ( Jacket, boots , Knee guards, Helmet)
              2. Radiator Guard
              3. Headlights, since that seems to be a problem for most members here, Read members here going for the Philips HID and Xtravision(High Beam), Is that a direct fit without any mods(as the philips automotive lighting website says)? what size? read in Kawi forums,of H7 followed by some number(did not understand).

              Thanks

                You're welcome,
Amongst all what you have listed above, #1 is the most important, i am sure u already have helmet, if not, then i suggest before delivery, get a helmet, The rest of the riding gear is a must for safe riding.
As for #2 yes its important to have a radiator guard. there are few available on international websites. I am not in a hurry to procure the same, Max stuff gets thrown onto the radiator during the monsoon. Thats about 7 months away.
As for #3, yes the headlights need an upgrade. I mean if it were a 150cc bike it would have been just right. the intensity and throw would have been okay, but on a bike on which you can achieve the top speed of a 150cc in second gear alone, i would recommend an upgrade. Once you get on to the FB owners group, there are a few discussions there about the same. I am no expert in the light front, so am reserving my comments.
Look at a couple more things to add to that list. Frame sliders(available at PRS - make R&G). either get side inserts for the tank as well as a tank pad. It tends to get scratched when riding. ALternately once you get the bike, you can get a 3M wrap on the tank which will cater for all potential scratch sources. Currently dont have the details on the latter mentioned option, though i am sure that if you look it up online, you would get the info.
So when is the D day for the delivery

Thanks for your inputs zimbly, will re enquire and search in detail once the Bike is delivered. Noted about the left grab rail during delivery.
I have been committed a months wait from now. The Manager also said that the bookings may now close any day.

You can also opt for Lamination pouches/films which seem to be pretty easy to cut to the shape you like and stick it on. I do not know if they are available in india, but I already bought it with the consignment I ordered from Germany. So if you order any riding gear/accessories from an international store, then you can consider to add a couple of these films to your shipment.

                            Hi Flyboy1,

Well first of all thanks .. As far as I can remember I booked my bike in the first week of its launch itself in early/mid August.. And the bike arrived at the showroom within a month itself.. Its due to my job profile I have been out sailing all this while, so now finally I will get the chance to take the delivery once i am back home.

Till then.. I am counting every passing 'tick' by the clock
