The naked version of the N650, er6n is supposed to be launched. Kawasaki Versys 1000 and ER-6n heading to India soon | Bike News | Bikes 800cc-1000cc | Autocar India

If u are interested, u can wait for it and it should logically cost less than the N650.

@zimbly and other 650 owners: I have booked a Ninja 650 and awaiting delivery. i have got a few queries

          1. I plan to use my kwacker for daily commuting as well as pleasure rides over the weekend. How according to u 650 will fare in daily office trips in peak traffic. How flickable is it?
          2. How about low and mid end torque?? do we need to shift down frequently? i am upgrading from C-500.
          3. Anything i need to be aware of or be prepared for? Like any niggles or issues u faced during your ownership??
          4. What mileage can we expect in city and in highways.
          5. Maintenance and upkeep costs?? I guess normal petrol should do just fine with the bike?

[Reply]You can use her for daily rides shouldn't be a problem, but let me tell you she isn't flickable, her forte is straight line stability. Mind it she is heavy, since you come from a RE, I believe you will get used to her.[Reply]
            2. How about low and mid end torque?? do we need to shift down frequently? i am upgrading from C-500.
[Reply] She has plenty of low end, mid range will blow ur mind . [/Reply]
            3. Anything i need to be aware of or be prepared for? Like any niggles or issues u faced during your ownership??
[Reply] No specific niggles, keep the chain clean and lubed, also you might find the gears hard initially, but they smoothen out after 6 to 7 K. The first gear engaging is a trademark THUD, so don't worry [Reply]
            4. What mileage can we expect in city and in highways.
[Reply]If I shift gears at around 9k rpm, I get around 18 kmpl. In city she should give around 20 to 22 kmpl. Highways if ridden at a constant 110 to 130, she can deliver anywhere between 24 to 30 kmpl. Some have got that mileage, I haven't coz I only blast [Reply]
            5. Maintenance and upkeep costs?? I guess normal petrol should do just fine with the bike?
[Reply]Stick to normal petrol. Maintenance is very less, change oil and filter every 5K.[/Reply]

Thanks a lot bro. That surely is reassuring to read. Can you suggest a good online store to get the required gear for the Ninja?
To start with i would like to get a helmet, jacket, frame sliders and a paddock stand for maintenance.

One good thing that I have learnt when buying jacket, shoes, helmet etc is make sure they will fit you. First try it out somewhere and then order. Performance Racing Store is one of them. You should join • Index page this site is for all kawasaki bike owners. You will find a lot of info there.

It is the 2013 model, as the 2014 models are yet to come to India. The waiting period was 4 months. OTR = 5.75 Lakhs.

Bro the 2014 model is already available, around 10 days back I saw a guy on the 650 FB forum post his purchase. For the 2014 the tank is black in color.

                      Check out this link http://www.bikewale.com/features/ind...di-plant-1182/

It shows the Ninja assembly line in pune, all 2014 models.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the 2014 models were available here. I booked mine on September 2013. Maybe that's the reason why I got the 2013 model. I personally prefer the green tank though.

                          Hello Kawasaki Ninja 650 owners.
I was reading through the two ownership threads here for the 650. I am not sure if I have missed any post on two up riding experience. I have read none.
Has any one tried a long two up touring? I am seriously considering buying this bike and two up touring will be a primary concern for me. Please do help me by providing your inputs.
