Hero Ignitor

Hello Xbhp friends, I am new to this forum and a proud owner of a white hero Ignitor (Disc). Had to wait more than 2 months for this one. Enjoying all the attention I get on the road. However, i feel the gear ratios are too close. I was doing just 40kmph in 5th gear at 4000 rpm. Its good for city, but for speeds above 50, the bike starts feeling underpowered.

Gasket cover change in first service!!! Did they open the crankcase or the engine?? My ignitor gives me 49 kmpl in city (1st service yet to be done). However the gearbox has to tendency to go into neutral while shifting from 4th to 5th. Do you experience the same??Last edited by abhi_krao; 12-15-2012, 10:35 PM.

normal
The gearbox is removed and centrifugal filter is checked for any metal particles/dust, it is cleaned and hence new gasket is put in place...this is normal for all Hero/Honda bikesOriginally posted by abhi_krao View PostGasket cover change in first service!!! It's the dirt inside the disc pads, which is making this Sound.Originally posted by ravisawalia View PostA little chrrrrrr sounds came when i use disk break now
what could be the problem
Remedy -
1) Either splash a mug or two of wtare, directly on to the disc.
2) Take it to SVC, they will open up the pads, and blow out the dirt..sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

There have also been instances where some stunner owners were getting similarly 35 kmpl only. So its not a case only with Ignitor. Get the bike checked at service centre. If u regularly top up at a local fuel station, try different one. I used to get 30 kmpl in victor GLX when using local HP petrol, when i emptied the tank and put shell fuel, i was getting above 35 kmpl.

Its not the speed .... or Petrol .... Its you my friend ,
Question 1 : Your route is less than 5KM .. True or False (If True, Lots of On Off's waste bit of Petrol as you starting from Neutral again)
Question 2 : Your City drive is bit crowdy you used to love your CLUTCH True or False ( Whenever your pressing the clutch much its sucks Petrol )
Question 3 : You always try to Drive in 5th Gear in the city, and crowd makes you shift down early True or False ( When ever you driving with High Gears in low speeds .....)
Question 4 : Do you know Hero Glamour's Average is 45isssss Per ltr True or False ( if true .. then your bike carry little bit more weight so (+-) 5KM vary.....
Question 5 : Do you complete your 2nd Service Yes/No ( If No then tell SVC peoples that you want to Tune for Higher mileage )
P.S : Do not Blame your Bike for anything,Personally i think they have a Heart if you started to hate them in return they also start creating problems ... Love him like your own child , No bike offer everything.I Drive Splendor its offer nearly nothing neither 100cc like Mileage,Suspension, speed .. But i love him .. when ever i am in need its Never betray me Its usually give headech over 80's .. but one day my neighbor uncle gt a minor heart attack,i just rub my hands to petrol tank and say Please ... its run as fast as 90's without any vibeLast edited by gyanpapi; 01-09-2013, 01:58 PM.

1. Switch off your bike at signals with more than 35-40 sec of wait.
2. Upshift in the higher RPM band, somewhere in the 70% area where the bike generates max torque. Say, the bike makes max torque @10k RPM, upshift @7k RPM.
3. Upshifting should not be decided on speeds, rather the RPM. Just try to follow the above point.
Finally, your carb is tuned too rich. Get it adjusted @SVC just a wee bit less towards optimal position. Your mileage figures would improve. Also, do NOT lug the engine. Doing 40kmph in 5th gear will NEVER give a good mileage. Let the engine be comfortable in its power band.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!
