i have Hero Ignitor 125cc, i have some doubts regarding the Air filter.
i wanna know that what if i ride my bike without any filter ? it gives a good firing
i dont wanna fit k&n filters as they reduce the mileage. as in the second pic the filter is removed what would happen if i read bike without that filter ?

    any harm to engine ?
Do not ride bike without airfilter!
It will allow dust particles to enter engine and cause early death to your engine.
Also, this will make your Air/fuel mixture ratio to be lean causing engine to overheat.

    I don't get you on this - " it gives a good firing "

Need advise on Hero Ignitor stock Headlamp upgrade

      Hello everyone ,

I own a Hero Ignitor . Mostly i travel on highways at night. I found out that the stock headlights are very weak for highway and even not so good for city. Stock headlamps are 'Halonix 35W'. So, i need to upgrade my stock headlamp to something which gives better illumination on the road at night. I am not looking for so called 'fancy white bulbs'. I just want better, brighter normal bulbs. I need advise on which bulb will fit in and gives brightest light without altering any coiling and wirings. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, I really appreciate it.

        Approved and merged!

Try Osram Silverstar (35W) or Osram Night Breaker Plus (55W).

                    try using a 'shift sock'
otherwise get a shifter from the unicorn first gen that has a heel-to-toe design.. or from another bike. am sure you can find one that is a direct swap with the ignitor.
if not get an extension welded to the current shifter. almost any mechanic should be able to help you.
as for a new gear lever i am assuming that a stunners' lever might be a direct fit on the ignitor. Getting spares for these bikes shouldn't be a big problem as they are sold at local spares shops too.

                          • Re: Hero Ignitor

Hi i brought hero ignitor (125CC) 27th jan of 2016..and till today (feb 15 2017) my odometer reading is nearly 11k kms. and completed 5 out of 6 free service from Hero. till the 4th service i used Hero stock engine oil 10w30 grade..but after that i started using Motul 3000 4t 10w30 grade from last two times (just putting only engine oil from outside). and change engine oil every 2k kms. my bike daily runs for 70kms (35kms each side continuously)..Now i am thinking to go for Semi-synthetic engine oil from Motul (3100 gold 10w30). is it ok for my bike engine or it will harmfull for my engine to go for semi synthetic engine oil. If it is good then what will be the drain period for Motul Semi-synthetic engine oil (Motul 3100 gold 10w30).

                            ---------Issues i am facing
                            1. From last couple of month my bike ideal rpm is falling down after setting it from Hero service center because of which bike stops at speed breaker when i reduce speed. (Service center guys set it last 5 times but after every 3to 4 days same things happening my bike rpm falling ).

                            2. As i crossed above 10k kms Hero service center guys are telling to change the air filter does it needed? if not what you guys suggest after how many kms i should change air filter? 3. Also as i reported low speed they recommended clutch washing does it needed ? So i am thinking to change the clutch plate instead of washing. Normally after how many kms you guys suggest to change the clutch plate?

                            Thanks Animesh

                            • Regarding Hero Motocorp "extra" service charges.

Please help me. I want your suggestions & advice. Please.
I own Hero Ignitor which is my first bike since June 2015. On my 5th free service, the hero service engineer unknowingly disturbed valve clearances(tappets) of my bike. Some days later I visited them to re-adjust tappets according to the service manual. They did it accordingly but due to lack of feeler guage they set the tappets slightly loose resulting in the familiar "tick-ticking" of engine. Ever since then I've been struggling to rectify this issue, visiting hero agency frequently & having engine head opened several times until this past saturday. I already purchased feeler guage, told the engineer(this time, a creepy elderly guy with moustaches) to re-set tappets(In: 0.8mm & Ex: 0.12mm). At first he wondered seeing feeler gauge & then called his fellow engineer mate(that same guy who rectified tappet issue previously but slightly loose) & they rectified this issue. Meanwhile when they were tightening engine head(two diagonal bolts), they realised that its threads are gone. So, the other guy(who was called) went out & installed/repaired it with new ones. For this he took out the part which has rocker arms. He charged Rs.80 for that(No problem). Btw he left silencer bolt loose so I showed it to them to fix it yesterday(Tuesday), & my main problem began from here:
That same creepy engineer began asking for extra money for the name sake of engine work on saturday apart from regular service charges for which I already have a discounted red "hero joy ride" card(already paid for 1 year). & that too on a different day. He only did simply serviced my bike as usual like cleaning with petrol & lubricating tasks. Other than that he did nothing. He even didn't lubricated chain just cleaned it with petrol. & as for tappets, his other fellow engineer did his job correctly this time also including those of engine threads.
What's this? I mean why should I pay these unkown charges on their will? & that only for tappets & threads work(for which I already payed Rs.80). What about those previously done careless servicings of tappets only for which the engine head had to be opened for several times over a year? Today when I'm at out at work, I got 2 calls from agency which I didn't answered(well, not able to actually) but I'm sure he tricked the clerk(who made final service receipts) to ask me for money. My next service is around Feb-March next year but I doubt they'll keep a note of this thing until then. I'm really fed up of this thing & want to contact hero motocorp directly. Meanwhile, I came across this wonderful forum of biking & have my issue posted here in search of your kind advices and suggestions.
Please help guys!! What should I do now?

                              • Things to follow after engine rebore ?

I have hero ignitor 125cc and I rebored after 45k kms, changed almost everything in engine like valves, camshaft, timing chain, tensioner , piston too !!

                                1. So I wanna know what things should I follow ? Please tell in detail

                                2. Should I use semi synthetic oil ? As I already have semi synthetic in my engine now

                                3. I have installed k&n rc 1060 , never done the upjetting ever and not even faced over heating issue so still do I need to up jet the carb or it's fine with the same jets ?

                                Thanks 😊
