Dude this isn't a design related problem. It is the same in my case as well. I guess it is designed that way. Doesn't look like an accident or a problem.

Yes, found out the same from the service center as well. They showed me a new bike in which the instrument cluster lights turn on even without the parking lights being switched on. Guess this would be useful when there is not much of sunlight

Any idea how to stop the 'Service Icon' blinking. The ASC guy didn't knew how to do it.

Press both select and set switches simultaneously when the ignition key is off and wait for three seconds .Turn the ignition key on without releasing both switches.

                UPDATE :

Went with two of my friends for a road trip today to the Mud Fort , Kuchesar. We had with us a Yamaha , a Harley and my trusty Thunderbird. For those planning a trip there , keep in mind that you need to make a reservation before you go or they wont allow you inside the gates.

We had to make quite a few calls to wangle our way inside. Enjoy the snaps:

Had the T shaped part replaced yesterday. Hoping the handle bar problem will be gone.
Thinking of removing the rear seat. Talked with the ASC guy. He opened the back seat and the plate below it to see the possibility. The problem is changing the wires for back lights which is attached to the frame below seats. Will talk with the company. Any changes in wires means voiding the warranty.
Wondering if anyone has done it already.

Went to a few shops in Nana Peth (Pune) yesterday.. The chrome backrest of the older TB does not fit the new TB. A simpler alternative is to replace the cushion of the existing backrest with a slightly higher cushion (so that it reaches up and supports the lower back appropriately). However, one of the spare part shop owners told me that he is expecting a new backrest (specifically for the new Thunderbird) to arrive sometime next week. This is good news (if it indeed is true!). So I guess I will wait for a week and see how it goes..

                          Guys, need a tiny clarification!

How good is the projector based headlight on the new Thunderbirds? I am aware that projector is only for low beam, but how is the spread and focusing? Also has anyone fitted a hid into the projector? would like to know if it can fit within the projector assembly without any modifications.

Reason i am asking is, my TBTS reflector is burnt after using philips xtreme vision bulb and i have to replace it anyway. I was thinking of sourcing p220 projector & reflector and try fit them into old reflector assembly. But if the new headlight of thunderbird is good enough, then it would save much time & effort! since headlight assembly costs north of 5k, i wanted to know whether it was worth going for it or not.
                          Thanks!

                            Hey Chotu_r,
My cousin has fitted HID in Thunderbird 500, no modifications required. The spread of light is awesome.

Sunday Morning Breakfast Ride to Mathura on the Taj Expressway. Rode at speeds in Excess of 140kmph . The bike purred like a kitten :-)

                              Safety on the Expressway:
The expressway is pretty safe. Remember to stick to the left lane unless you are overtaking. I have seen that majority of the reports of the accidents are of youngsters in their late teens and early twenties, where the need for speed overtakes the desire to ride safe. It is these maniacs who pose a risk to themselves and all the others using the road.
We did spot numerous high end cars speeding along the overtaking lane and I would presume at speeds over 200kmph.
The flat straight stretches do make you want to pull back on the throttle.
                              Stability :
I did cruise at 140 odd for short stretches as the bike has done only a thousand odd kms and I didn't want to push the envelope till I cross the 3000 km mark. The bike was pretty stable even with the high crosswinds blowing. We had another rider with us on a Yamaha 150 cc and he was not comfortable at anything above 115kmph because of the cross winds. That being said , the bike feels the most comfortable between the 80 to 100 band after which the engine vibrations start becoming more pronounced . Also have had an issue on my bike with the tyre wobbling. Will have to write to Royal Enfield today as have taken it thrice to the service center and they have not been able to sort it out.
                              Mileage:
Did check my bikes mileage before we set out and I have got a mileage of a little bit over 27kmpl in the last period.
                              General:
The kids travelling on the agra route were pretty fascinated by the bike and I got a lot of smiles and waves
