I remember pulling out the rear wheel quite a few times for puncture repair and it used to be a little tricky for one person to pull it out. I am wondering how easy or difficult it would be for a single person to remove either of the wheels of a 500 cc. Any suggestions, comments or tips?

Got the bike 2 days back. 200 kms covered till date mostly on NH,SH. Keeping it under 70. Love the stone black color. Fitted black colored leg guard. Does not match well with stone black. Will post pictures and detailed review once I cover some more km's.

TB 500: only 3 days and handlebar got loose from the rod connected to body. Tightened by the service center tech yesterday, it again got loose today. Head tech said, if it gets loose this time he may have to open the full handle assembly. So much for a new bike.

          Congratulations Sushant,
Enjoy riding the bird. Just feel the thump when you ride her at speeds between 50-60.

For a new bike its really painful to see such things happening.

Thx Daredemon. Any luck with alloy wheels. I live in a small city. No options here.

I have complete 2550 KM of my TB500 in last one month.
Completed many short one day trips. And one long trip to Hedvi from Pune.
Luckly have not faced any issue yet.

For starting the bike in morning.
I keep the igniion off kick 3-4 times.
Switch on the ignition then electric start.

After that bike starts in half kick

Thunderbird 500 is fuel injected, right? It should start with just one press of button or one kick. Does it not?

                    Sushant,
No luck yet with the alloys. The dealer said he will call once he gets the imported alloys. He says he has indian available but not that good.

I searched for alloys in my city and no luck. Although one of the dealers pointed that there are hardly any options available for tubeless tyres for 19" wheels so I should consider 18" for front.

Taking the bike to service center today, handle is again loose. Wrote an email to RE customer care.

My bike had a manufacturing defect. Some T shaped part connecting handle to the body was not setting properly so after 200 km's the handle got loose. There are going to replace it, which again is going to take 20-30 days. It's a sad experience with my first RE being opened within 12 days from purchase. Who knows what other problem will arise in upcoming miles.

if your primary reason for alloy wheels is for tubeless tyres so as to minimize puncture chances, you can instead go for a puncture sealant like slime. check out the x-torque facebook page, they have a good video of a puncture sealant used on a tube-type tyre.

RE quality being what it is, it seems pretty common for all sorts of niggles to pop up in the first few months. In my experience, after a few thousand kilometres on the odo, u might finally be free of all these niggles and start enjoying the true bullet experience.

Well said sir, it's true that the initial stages with your bike you will have issues. But you need to understand that your bike also has some persona and needs some time to adjust. Once you break the ice she will fly and you will njoy being the pilot. Till then Don't lose hope.

If you read my above quote you will understand that i had more then tiny Niggles, but that phase is gone and now i am happy with the bike. Soon planning to go to Pondycherry from Mumbai on the bull, on the way back also planning to do Saddle Sore. Lets see if the bike holds up to the challenge.
