was 130/80 18" tyre a direct upgrade or you had to modify something.Originally posted by appugodara View Post.....
During 1750 Kms of first ride of my bike to home I felt rear tyre grip is not that great.. It tends to skid if excelirated hard in curves or during overtaking.. So changed rear tyre to ceat vertigo 130-80-18 n now it's awesome looks mean

140 seems difficult coz it might touch chain & swingarm..C.P.

re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500
Wait is finally over.. I've Decided not to Put Old Style Goldstar coz the design of TB500's Bend pipe is different.. All ither Scilencers was going below & very close to Swingarm.. That was not looking good also because of that fitment scilencer could touch road during sharp or hairpin bends.. That was also causing trouble to Center Stand.. So called to friend of mine who makes goldstar with my problem.. discussed with him.. shared some drawings on paper.. n YES.. he did it.. Saurabh Katar from Sans inc. made INDIA's First Goldstar Scilencer Specially Made for NEW TB500/350.. its awesome... perfect Fit.. Finish.. Looks.. everything.. its awesome.. here are some pics..Originally posted by appugodara View Post
Finally it's time to change scilencer.. Ordered one.. Custom made.. Will give pics once I get that. Planning to install K&N with that scilencer..
So far my experience was good.. It's better machine by RE so far..

I have ordered the same goldstar exhaust for my tb500 and its brilliant but would you recommend the k & n filter.. doest it really suit the fuelinjected 500. Is the change in performance worth it?.. and did you make any changes to the air fliter box? Basically where did u snap the filter onn, which model was the filter and pictures of the k & n would be appreciated

That's great buddy.. How's it going with the new goldstar silencer? Can u upload a short video of the thumping sound? And how much did it cost you? Any modifications required to the bend pipe? Do let us know whatever changes you experience regarding the bike's performance etc etcOriginally posted by appugodara View PostWait is finally over.. My Blue Bird Flies From Chennai To Bangalore
Yesterday was hectic both for me and my Blue Bird. While Shatabdi Express took me to Chennai, my Blue Bird brought me back to Bangalore Basaveswara Nagar home at 00:45 am today.
I got up at 4 am, took Shatabdi to Chennai, reached my Royapettah home by 11:45 am, called Royal Enfield Brand Store to know whether RC was received, but was told it was yet to come from RTO, collected some items, started my Blue Bird in the very first crank, left home by 12:45 am, had tankful of petrol and specified air pressure for my Blue Bird, rode to T Nagar, completed my work and started my ride to Bangalore via Vellore and Krishnagiri.
The afternoon heat was at its peak from Chennai to Vellore. Because of that, I could not wear my jacket and gloves. I took 3 breaks before reaching Saravana Bhavan at Vellore, where I had evening tiffin with watermelon juice with plenty of cold water. The next stop was at Pallikonda toll plaza. After Vaniampadi, the weather turned to nice. But, tragedy struck at Krishnagiri toll plaza, where I noticed rear flat tyre.
The time was 8:30 pm. The only vulcanizing guy near the toll plaza shut his shop. Then, I approached Saravanan, a truck mechanic. He took me on his bike to spot where my Blue Bird was parked, dismantled the rear wheel, he rode back to his shop with me holding the rear wheel at the pillion, he showed me the screw which screwed the tyre and tube, took it to another vulcanizing guy on his bicycle located another few hundred metres from his shop, returned after 1 hour, we again carried the repaired wheel in Saravanan's motorcycle to the spot and refitted the rear wheel in my Blue Bird. He charged
200 for his services. I lost 2 hours due to this puncture.
I continued my ride to BP COCO outlet at Chinnar, where my Blue Bird had tankful petrol and the attached Adyar Ananda Bhavan, where I had plenty of water and coffee and continued my ride. Now, the weather turned to chilly. I wore my jacket and gloves, continued my journey. There was a huge traffic jam at TN-KA border starting from Ashok Leyland plant at Zuzuwadi, Hosur to Attibele toll plaza. All sorts of vehicles stood in queue for more than a km on either side of the border. My Blue Bird did some off-road by riding on the shoulder on the left side and reached the Attibele toll plaza quickly. After clicking some photographs, I continued my ride and reached my Bangalore Basaveswara Nagar home by 00:45 am today.
My Blue Bird recorded a fuel efficiency of 28.5 kmpl, calculated by tankful-to-tankful method for highway ride of mostly 80 - 90 kmph.
The price of petrol per litre at BP, The Elite Petrol Service, Cathedral Road, Chennai, was
65.94 and at BP COCOO, Chinnar, near Krishnagiri, was
66.56 as on 17 May 2013.
