      Re: Yamaha Ray

Ok!! Phew . It has been long since my last post here.

So it has been 2.5 years with the Ray, all I have is positive review about this superb scooter. Have been keeping silent here since I havent used it since a long time. But today rode it all the way from Calicut to Bangalore. 400kms , 10k kms completed in the ride as well. Yes thats super low on the odo, but again only sis was using the scoot till now . There has been no issues with the bike yet, everything working flawless.
The only issue I saw was fork paint peeling off by itself. But I guess this has been already adresses in the new lots. Have only used the oil provided by Yamaha svc. Changed accelerator cable, air filter and engine oil on the last service, which was last week.
Even if you don't use her for a month, she starts at the first crank without choke. Yes that was amazing, like an FI.

It refused to go above 80kmph today on the trip. Very comfortable doing 60-70 on the meter. Fuel efficiency stayed at around 60kmpl on this ride. Will be using it daily for commuting to office from now on . Will update the city mileage after that.
Also posting some pics ! !

Hi! friends i just bought new ray zr with disc for my father and he is loving all the attention, he is getting. Even when i brought it from showroom 2-3 people asked me the model. It feels broader like fazer. From front it looks like yamaha's snow mobile.

Its too soon to review it, but scooty feels quite sturdy and well made. Handle bar feels very narrow or small or may be i drive fzs, so it feels small
I will soon review rest of it.

Its not impossible, but would be a costly affair. You need to see both and see what all parts need to be changed. If the caliper bracket sits on front fork outer tube, you will have to change that too. Might need to change the front wheel assembly as well as I am not sure the disc will fit on the old wheels. And bracket to mount the master cylinder unit.. etc etc.

                    Re: Yamaha Ray

Hi has anyone changed the oils ( engine oil and gear oil) on his/ her Yamaha scooter? If yes could you post a step by step guide? My main queries are 1: how much gear oil to use. 2 where are the drain plugs located? For the Activa, you fill till the oil comes out of the fill hole. The Yamaha has a top filling hole for gear oil. The drain plugs , well I guess I'll clean all the mud off the underside and see.

The gear oil quantity is 100ml.

I'm having a 2017 Yamaha Ray Z BS4 with auto headlamp on and I feel the headlights are very poor. The bulb is HS1 35W Halogen and battery is 5 A.

What's the best stock headlamp upgrade since the scooter is under warranty?

                          Thanks in advance.

Issues with ray z rear suspension!

Guys, I've been riding my yamaha ray z for quite some time now and the issue that I'm facing with the rear suspension is that I feel it is too stiff. Every time I either ride on bumps or small holes the scooter almost flings me over and it even makes the whole scooter shake like anything at minor irregular roads. Considering that I am an adult of 64 kgs I don't think it is quite normal for my scooter to be able to fling me at times. The issue is that I don't know if the suspension is gone or not because after searching through the forums I've noticed that suspensions go softer with time due to damage. As for my front suspension I kind of feel fishy because it is quite soft even after changing it's fluids, either I'm going paranoid or the rear suspension is screwing me over.

I'm feeling the stiff suspension from the day one I bought. Its very hard on bumps & potholes. I think its made like that for better handling at corners. Mine is 4yrs old.
