Also wanted to know. What motor oil do u guys prefer. I'm gonna do the oil changes n all the tiny winy things by myself... It's easy and better to get to know your bike a bit. So just wanted to know which oil and coolant seems to work better.

Thanks guys. I haven't read up on anything with regards to the new colour scheme. There have been no posts about it. Was wondering if anyone picked it up yet. I also wanted to know one thing. Which place has huge varieties of helmets? I need to pick a new one but wasn't happy with AH helmets. He had only MT and Stuff.

jeyessh The bike has covered 23k km till now. Regarding the problem, a Coolant leak was identified and after little bit of research through different Kawa forums, Google & Youtube it was pretty evident that the Mechanical seal inside the Water pump preventing the Coolant getting mixed with Oil had given away and needs replacement. Since the time frame for procuring the above from Kawa SC was very high, opted for a OE parts sourcing website.

The Mechanical seal was procured from the Kawasaki Original parts website in UK. Costed me double the price of the part if procured through Kawa SC here in India; however felt like it was worth the effort.

Sharing the website address for people who are in dire straits and need parts in quick time - https://www.kawasakioriginalparts.com/

Product ordered on 20th April 2017
Product received on 29th April 2017

Seal-Mechanical OE Part# 49063-1055
Part cost - 9.92 GBP
Shipping cost - 20 GBP
Total cost - 29.92 GBP

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Queensyrche

Service Update - @ Kawasaki SC - Cochin

Got the bike after service and all issues has been sorted out

Things got done;

New Throttle cables
New mechanical seal (coolant leak fixed)
New coolant
Air box and drain plug cleaned
Chain slack check
Engine oil top up

Total bill came to INR 4579/-

Final verdict - Pretty satisfied with the way things have turned out...from the time the hunt for spare parts began till the time things were rectified.

After all, this all just forms part of an ever growing learning experience. In short, Happy to have sorted the niggles out within a span of less than 1 month.

Another update i received when spoke with the main guy at SC...they are planning for setting up quick service vans which will visit places and set up camps to get general services done for Kawa bikes in that vicinity. People who are far off can register for this and utilize this facility instead of bringing their bike over to Cochin which is a huge ask.

To add on, he also said that they are considering setting up showrooms and service centers in both TVM and Calicut in near by future.

Cheers,
Queensyrche

I enquired at the Kawasaki Showroom.
Was on phone so cannot recollect exact prices.
They said total for a general services comes to around 8000rs for a 300
Labour is hourly basis 1200 for 300 and 1600 for bigger bikes.

Things that are done:
Oil and Oil filter Darin plug washer change - 1h
Chain lube
Chain tightening - 0.5h
Wash and wax
Consumables

My guess is 2.5 to 3h per bike

These are not showroom specific rates are from Kawasaki India

Was shocked to hear a general service for a 300 will cost 8k + other maintenance if any.

I can do all the above included in general service under 1hr excluding the wash :P
