I am trying to reach him from the past 2 days and he is ditching my calls. Anyways i raised a complaint with the customer care now regarding.
They told me the survey has to be finished in 2 days and today is the 6th day. also that Why I didn't raised the complaint on the 3rd day itself and waited for 6 days.

Also the funny thing is the insurance surveyor has told the customer care on the 2nd day that he is not able to contact me. haha. i mean seriously.
Also the thing is i cant repair the bike from my own money unless the survey is done which I don't know as he is not receiving my calls.

Kind of in a stuck situation. moreover now weekend so expect things to move on Monday only.

stop verbal discussions and start putting it in writing i.e. email to the insurance company at regular intervals. if you discussed something with the local insurance surveyor, put it in writing with your objection if any to the insurance company.. so you have a track record.
plastics and tires will be 50% or lesser.. rims shouldn't be that low.. and there will a depreciation taken in to account if yours is not nil dep policy. read the policy wording that came with your policy (not random ones these guys cook up)

you can then mark a copy to the IRDAI at a later stage if they screw you.

Ya, you are right B7ACKTHORN. From Monday he was pestering me to send the location of the accident on a whatsapp number. I asked him a million times to send me the number. He didnt . Finally i got the number from the SVC guys whom he gave the number for bike pics.

Now when i sent him the screenshot of the map clearly pointing the location, he wants live location in whatsapp. I mean seriously he is trying to derail my head. But as u rightly said I am keeping my cool. Luckily its on my way to office so i can share it tomorrow.

I talked with the SVC guys about the cashless claim by me paying to fix the bike. But they said that its better to get clear instructions from the insurance team about what all is covered as this insurance guys can easily go back on their word and deny everything.

Also he sent me a screenshot of some stupid policy wording which is written in word document.

Let them finish the investigation, even if it takes time. You pay from your side and get the bike ready. Make sure, your insurance is CLAIMED with the bills duly submitted. If they don't accept your insurance or the agent said so, take the bills straight to the office, and make sure you aren't leaving the office until you meet the manager. 95% of the time it will be entertained. The guy is just trying to make you look at fault. For now patience is key, if you go for a scene, it can and will backfire against you, as these insurance agents are very sinister in doing such things.

So will it be safe to do this ? I mean i get the bike repaired from my own pocket and later submit the bills to get it reimbursed.
But i also have a doubt that KTM doesn't do cashless claims. Have to confirm this.

My only main worry is that already the insurance surveyor is in the mood to deny the claim. And if i get the bike repaired by my own, and then he denies it then I am in trouble.
As of now , the insurance surveyor has already got a call from the SVC stating that they cant keep the bike in workshop for long time and the insurance surveyor said that since the insurance start date and the accident date have only 2 days gap , they have a doubt that I am ripping them off and it will take 7 days to finish the investigation.

Cashless claims do come into situations like this. And most insurance companies want us to pay upfront for the damage first, then once the claims related bills and documents are furnished with them, they will verify it and the amount will come to your account say, after a week or after two to three weeks max. It's a time consuming process, but eventually, it will be paid to you.

Ya, I guess now its just a to and fro communication with the insurance guy to approve it with all the details.
From the latest conversation i had with him, he suggested that i can pay for the repair now and later once the claim is approved, I have to submit the bills and get the money back.

I dont know if this the proper way to do it or is this even legal?

Couple of things he told are mind boggling.

He told is Bangalore roads are full of potholes so it cant be considered as an accident as there was no contact with anybody. As if he is telling if I had hit something then it would have been better. I was like what the ....

Secondly he told Tires and rims are standalone parts and are not covered in the policy. I mean he is totally on track to find reasons to not approve the claim.

I know its his job but when i said i have gone through your latest policy wordings from your official website, then he says that he himself will share another policy wordings which is not on the website which states tires and rims are not covered.

Immense patience is required to handle this moronic approach to not approve the claim.

Yes, for rubber parts, the cost comes down to half the value. Secondly, if you've oped for nil depreciation for metal parts you get full coverage, and for tire, you might get a portion of it. Let's wait for the SVC and insurer to to finalize, then you'll eventually know how much you'd end up paying, if any.

Thank you for the confidence boost up. I went through the policy wording. It seems only 50 percent will be given for the tires only if they part of the accident.
So ya that's one fine print to be noted down. I am just wondering out of this 10000 rs how much would I actually end up of getting.

I mean if its really worth going through this full hassle, if at the end of the day they end up giving me some 2 3k and I have to shell out the remaining amount.
Already I am paying for the cabs and bounce rides out of my nose and more the bike stays at the SVC because of the delay in the insurance approval, the more money i am going to loose.

May be I m overthinking or just food for thought..

Yes, claims immediately after renewals are always checked for their veracity. But, that being said, take it easy on the insurance guys, the process is a lot of paper work and time consuming. Be patient, leave your bike at the SVC if you need to, and keep timely follow up with both the SVC and Insurance. Once, the insurance finalizes it as accident, the rest of the process will be smooth and swift, though will take time.

So now i got call from insurance surveyor and he says that from date of policy starting for 15 days ,,claims are investigated thoroughly and it might take days weeks or months to approve the amount for the repairs. I took a new policy on 8th of Feb, 2020 after my first year policy got expired and my old insurance guy was not ready to give renewal for own damage only.

is there any truth is this or he is just playing to not approve the claim?

Guess this is going to take longer than i expected.

I know i couldnt have done much, but glad that nothing more grave or serious happened.

Regarding the rear rim, I visited the SVC today again to give the documents for insurance. Did a very review of the rear rim and it seems to be slightly bend outwards from the sidewall from where the blast of air came out.

Its a very slight one , cant make out in first look too so dont know how the SVC is going to deal about this.

Also the front tire has lost air, so dont know how it is. I mean I dont know if its damaged. The SVC guys told they will check all more clearly when the insurance surveyor comes.

I will check on the handle bar and T stem. Any other parts i should check. ?

I felt the bike fully bottomed out when it went through the pothole, so i guess both the front and rear shock absorbers took a good hit.

Also the security guy told me it will minimum take a week for the bike to get fixed and all as the insurance surveyor has to approve the funds and all.
Any idea if i will get 100 percent claim on this damages or it all depends on the mood of the insurance surveyor ?

I think you need a chill pill. It's an unfortunate incident, but being hard on yourself only aggravates it. As I said and fellow bhpians mentioned, you can claim insurance. It indeed was an accident, and you can try talking to the manager at SVC, and check with him about the claim procedures. They WILL help.

See, basically SVC wants money, they don't care if it's from your own pocket or from you insurance provider for the job carried.

Don't worry about the forks, they should be perfectly fine. Just make sure, your handlebar is having smooth movement left and right and T stem is not loose.

Though, it's good to replace both rims, but since no visible damage is present on the rear rim, it's highly unlikely you'll get it, but if your SVC writes it off as defective, you can get them covered under warranty. It's all in the talking to the SVC guys.

Actually i want to claim both the tires and both the rims in insurance, because they will never be the same, no matter how much mend and make the rims proper

Dont know how to convince the insurance surveyor on this. Moreover I have always heard that the forks are the first to get damaged in this kind of accidents.
But in my case they look ok. I am worried that after i fix all the tire and rim issues and start riding again, and after a few days the forks go for a toss..Ahhhhhhhh

If the RIMS are damaged get them replaced as it WILL BE covered in Insurance. Secondly, if the tyres are damaged in the same accident then YES they are covered under Insurance.
