Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
The fork bottom is enough and you can use the same chrome part of fiero. It is better to get it used ones gujri and work up on them changing only necessary items which are needed. I spent close to 2.5k buying it from gujri

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
Great to see the thread active again!
I have sourced the engine parts, and need to order for the gear part.
Unable to run around much due to night shift.
Hope to get the restoration done this month.

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
I am all here enjoying my fiero. I have changed job recently and commute is increased 2 folds and it consists of 70% ring.road with speeds of 70 to 80kmph if not more and I am getting a mileage of 40 to 43kmpl which is very good for a 180cc I believe. With lot of positive reviews about hdeo oil in bikes I am.taking leap of faith and gonna use rimula r4 in my next change which is another 500kms due. And before I forget it's been 4k kms with 180cc bore and I am loving it

TVS Fiero
Hi Friends, this s Arun & i need to know something about TVS Fiero.
1. I purchased a second's, TVS Fiero 2002 model, with 65,000 km 4 days back. I firstly wanna know what is the difference between Tvs & Suzuki make in Fiero. Everyone says Suzuki Fiero is better and the best then Tvs & when i googled everything is same, but Suzuki make is on demand.
2. What best modification can be done to Tvs Fiero without compromising on fuel economy
3. Thinking to change the tyres, need suggestion on that too.
4. My mechanic said me the pick up of the bike is less, said may be because of the clutch plate. As i have not much idea about all this, i need some one to help me with some best suggestion.
Pls help me

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
No Mate, I got thrown into night shift and was zoned out last few days.
The Fiero has been running daily in my Uncle's hands, though my R15 was idle last week.
I also rode the Fiero today with Mom for about 25-30kms. The RPM rises high after a few kms. of riding and I can see white smoke behind me clearly now. Something like autos, but quite less in quantity.
I'm visiting the Mech and SVC tomorrow to take a stock of parts, and order for those not available. I will get the oil topped up till then, since I can already smell it burning. Funnily, the mileage hasn't dropped yet.
Once all the parts are readily available, we are planning one weekend to finish everything.
Waiting for August 1st salary as well!

Re: Fiero/FieroF2/FieroFx
So, how's progress coming along?
I'm guessing you're running-in already.
Hoping to see pix.

I'm little confused after getting getting contradicting opinions like:
1. Old mech says: Only bore kit replacement (with head parts) is enough. No bearings will wear out for Fiero
2. New mech says: Only engine bearings can be replaced, rest not needed
3. gixxer_junkie_m says: Gearshaft and crank bearings may not need replacement. Engine bearings is a must though.
4. psr says: Replace gearshaft, shifter, bearings to be on safe side.
I guess I will take a decision based on the price/availability of the gearshaft!
I will surely post pics and a detailed explanation once the work starts.
I'm keeping it pending for some time.
Attempting 180 conversion is risky considering the level of mechanics' expertise here.

Anabond, threebond, loctite..Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostSure, any particular brand...like Anabond?
Anabond and threebond available at almost any local spares shop, and is used by most mechanics. I've used them in the past on my RX and they do a great job at sealing off the joints.
There is a big spares shop near the yousufguda check post, opposite the BP petrol bunk. Not very discount friendly, but he seems to have most spares that may not be available at smaller shops.
