See i filled with 500rs petrol immediately after taking my bike from showroom and they informed me that approx 900ml-1L petrol is in the bike,the last bar was blinking so 7 liter plus 1 L( total 8 L fuel and 4 bars on the fuel meter) and the odo was at 8.x Km at that time, after riding for 245km in trip meter, the third bar vanished and it had exact 2 bars left which means approx 4 liter of fuel so 245/4 gives me 61.25 which was shocking for me, hence i stated that even after slight errors in calculation, the bike is returning 58-60kmpl but out of that 250km about 70% of it was on open highway that too in early morning or late night with speedo in range of 40-55kmph
And 2-3 short bursts of few seconds upto 70/75 kmph.
Rest 30% with mild traffic and pillion.
And after 245km i filled 6 liter fuel and the all 6 bars were present and after about 10km the last bar vanished and 5 bars were left means 10L which proves the point that at the time of refuelling there was atleast 4L fuel in the tank.
Well i will update here in future with more accurate tank to reserve( last bar in case of fz) method.

How do you calculate the mileage? The most appropriate way is by setting the trip meter to 0 while filling the fuel and again when you fill the tank next time fill it to the full and divide the distance on the trip meter by the quantity of oil you filled.
I think you are doing something wrong while calculating 61-62kmpl is quite impossible on fz .

That was my assumption and not precise calculation and after reading your message that this version gives 14% more i started doing calculations and i am still not able to believe that i got near about 61-62 kmpl so even after minor errors in calculation as i am not so familiar with the fuel meter and tank( though i know it is of 12l and the last bar blinks when nearly 2.4l fuel is left) i can vouch that i am getting atleast 58-60kmpl for sure, feeling happy 😊

I don't think a tail tidy would look that good on a 150cc commuter.
And good to hear that you are getting such a good mileage, it may be because the official yamaha website claims that the 2017 fz gives 14% better mileage than the previous models.
I own a 2015 fzs v2 astral blue and on some long highway runs I managed to touch 52Kmpl, but the place where I stay due to heavy traffic I never get more than 44- 45Kmpl which i think is quite decent for a 150cc commuter that too with a 140 section rear tyre
