I haven't faced any cold start issue yet. My bike has been sitting idle for almost 12 days and it started immediately on the first go. But it does stall if you keep the idle rpm any lower than 1400. You own FZ or planning to buy!

How long has it been since you cleaned the injectors? May be because of that. And also an engine clean up may be the solution.

I Will buy a bottle and keep it at my place and be tension free for next 4-5 service that is better than complaints because the bitter truth is that all the companies have an idea about malpractices at SVC's, i feel like these call and mail support teams are just their to abide by basic rules of setting up your shop in this country.
Please recommend me a chain clean and lube set, should i go ahead with motul? How long does it lasts?

Seems like a fine deal but make sure to do a extensive test drive before making a final call and if possible take a test ride on any fz which is under 10000kms to get a better idea about the good health of properly maintained FZ.

My roommate is planning to buy second hand bike and he got the deal for a fz 16 2013 Dec model
25000km completed. Rare tyre has been changed recently battery is not working anymore
And the deal is 42K
Can anyone tell me whether we can go for it or not?

I want to check tappet clearance of my engine. Is it necessary to remove petrol tank ?
How much is the clearance for inlet and outlet ?

Firstly, how does your engine turn off at 70 kmph ? Are u disengaging clutch at those speeds ?? If you are doing that, stop doing it immediately.

If engine has to shut down, it will do so in idle or at any other speed while riding (Without clutching). Engine shut down can be caused due to a very low idle RPM set, a faulty spark plug, too clogged up air filter etc.

Last if everything fails, its the ECU (the chances are negligible). Also try using the PEA carbon cleaner on your engine available from Yamaha Service Centers.

Welcome to India and its problems. You can definitely shoot mails to teach the SVCs lessons as much as you like.

However, a small tip would be to always have a bottle of engine oil at your place. Top up the remaining 100 ml yourself after every service.

Also check and top up the engine oil every 1000 Kms ( thrice between services). This will make sure you have a healthy engine forever.

Yes the service center people are the useless here in hyd also all they know is how to change the oil,filter,cleaning the air filter & some minor adjustments that's it. I own a Gixxer even the suzuki svcs in hyd suckss.

[MENTION=72055]rajat.singh[/MENTION] - don't worry, just send a mail to the Yamaha customer care about the engine oil issue. They will shake up the dealer, and they would treat you better next time.

And it's a good idea to check your engine oil level every weekend. Buy a bottle of engine oil anyway, to top up as and when required.

3 service centers in my city lucknow, the experience from 1 is written above, 2nd one is worse will try up with 3rd next time, these guys don't give a damn about valve clearance, tappet adjustment , nothing of that sort exists in their mind and dictionary same with yamaha honda suzuki or any xyz thats why we start facing issues after 1.5-2.5 year of usage and the most common being piston being worn out, bad pick up, vibrations, harshness all just because they don't give a damn about jobs written in service books, just wash, change oil and filter, tighten few things, adjust Freeplay at places,and lube the chain that's it.
No matter its your bike's first service or 10th. 100cc bike or 250cc, and being a tier 2 city there are no independent quality service centers or ease of availability for spares and consumables, they will screw my bike within a year.
I never feel disappointed about cosmetics parts ageing with bike or about capabilities compared to competition but is it too much to expect your machine to run and perform as good as first month atleast for 50-60k kms, but seems like that's too much for manufacturers; indian or japanese to fulfil and they just want to sail on 24month 30k kms warranty and after that customer can sleep sleepless nights thinking about what's wrong with my machine suddenly and how do i correct even if takea time and money and forgets the main reason that it wasn't his or fault of machine but it is screwed because of ignorance of kamchor(lazy and ignorant) workers at every periodic maintenance in total life of particular vehicle.

Can someone suggest me a affordable chain clean and lube set? Here SVC charges 150Rs for that.

Should i buy a bottle of yamalube and pour in remaining 100ml(SVC guys only put 1L oil) after every service as arguing with them is meaningless and filing a complaint would mean nothing more than loosing neutral rappot with SVC and here only 3 exists.


Should i buy the extended warranty considering that chances of getting a proper service is 1 in 100 which means bad health of bike within 2-3 years,Am really very worried.

I have completed my first service at 770kms and after the service bike feels harsh and vibey than earlier, what can i do?
And also the manual states 1100ml of engine oil with new oil filter but they poured only1 bottle which was of 1Lonly and on questioning this to service guy,he was like sir that's how we do it with every bike,i felt disappointed there are only 3 service centerz

Need advice for FZ Version 2

I got my FZ version 2 in November 2015 and completed 11000 km till now. Now I am facing a serious issue in my bike. The bike gets suddenly off when I disengage
the accelerator and also at slow speeds. If I was doing a speed around 70km/hr and when i leave the accelerator the engine gets off. I tried many service centers but the problem not yet fixed.
I even changed the full throttle set for Rs.3000 but it was no use.

Yes it can be disabled. Just get the switch module of any fz (previous version with headlamp on/off switch) and install it.

Dispose that filter it's of really cheap material actually we can see the otherside through it. Comes with poor mesh and hence poor filteration. Your bike is running lean as per ur description heating and misfiring indicates that. You may need to callibrate the fi system to use that filter I think. Best is to stay stock else use uni foam filter
