Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
I heard about this and a friend of mine installed it on his fz -s.. And when he uses the headlight sidelight and horn together .. The bike fuse blew off ... So he had to replace the fuse .. So to solve that he used a little thicker fuse fire .. That also burnt off ... So he then bought a relay of some sought and fixed that ..and I guess it's working now ..but he says its not that great of a upgrade ..Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostWill the stock 4ah battery on the fzs fi be enough power a 55/60w headlamp without hampering the fi system? The fazer has a dual headlamp setup both the headlamps glow on high beam i.e. 35+35= 70 watt total and it also has dual horns running on the similar 4ah battery.
Has anyone tried a 55/60w bulb on their fzs fi?

Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
Mine is a 2015 model astral blue, within a span of 6-8 months I noticed cracks on both the sides of my tank panel near the bolt areas and even on the instrument console.Originally posted by mechsabari View PostI am having the same issue. cracks on tank panels. Does this come under warranty? how to approach this with a warranty? my bike has 3yrs old and 36k odo. please help me dude
I immediately contacted the dealer and he clicked some pictures of the cracks and assured me for the panel and meter console replacement. The tank panels were replaced within 15-20 days but the instrument console replacement took around 2 months.
Now in 2017 I one again found cracks on my left tank panel, but the right panel and instrument console is all right.
As your bike is 3 years old and is out of warranty period I doubt yamaha will entertain this issue. Still you may contact your dealer regarding this issue.

I am having the same issue. cracks on tank panels. Does this come under warranty? how to approach this with a warranty? my bike has 3yrs old and 36k odo. please help me dudeOriginally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostI don't think the rusting issue is with every bike because I own a March 2015 Fzs v2 and not a single rust anywhere in the bike till date.
There may be specific defects on specific bikes for eg. within 6 months after buying the bike I noticed strange things on my bike. The meter console glass cracked and the plastic tank cover where the bolts are fitted have cracked. I was shocked because my bike never fell down nor I had parked my bike under direct sunlight for more than 15-20 minutes. My friends also own fzs v2 but none of them have this cracking issue. Although this was covered under warranty by yamaha my meter console and the tank cover on both the sides were replaced free of cost.
After about one year again the left side of the tank cover got cracked near the center bolt.
I haven't came across anyone in my friend circle who has faced such cracking issues, its my fate that even after replacement I faced the the same issue. Thankfully its just a single crack. Meter console and the right side of my tank cover are still intact after replacement till date.
I cannot blame yamaha for this because its like 1/1000 bikes has faced such issue and I am that unlucky one, luck plays a very crucial factor.
And if you speak of rusting as per my experience yamahas are very less prone to rusting, just have a look at RE bikes and even hornet. Both these bikes are owned by my friends and have horrible rusting issue on their body parts.

If you get caught, pay the fine.Originally posted by Leejan View PostSo what is ur final verdict on the top .. Should I go ahead a get a led bulb or stick to the stock type of bulb ?
If you dont want to pay the fine, stick to OEM and ride slowly. You make your choice.

So what is ur final verdict on the top .. Should I go ahead a get a led bulb or stick to the stock type of bulb ?Originally posted by kris123456 View PostIndia has many states in it. Few states don't care to implement rules. But Few care.
Unfortunately many states do not care, so people install them. States where govt cares, people of those states don't install such hardware.
India has very bad road laws. If your vehicle is 5000 CC or above, you can install 5X more lights (Something like this.) on your vehicle when compared to smaller vehicles. So is the case with horns.
But in reality, No one needs such lighting. But heavy vehicles (Buses and Trucks) use such heavy setup's. people in smaller vehicles are at greater risk on highways because of these buses and trucks. So, they try to protect themselves by switching to higher lighting. and That's good.
Govt seems to be fixing the 1970's old laws now, but we are at least few years away from it on paper. Implementation may take many years.

Secondly ..can u pls shed some info about the installation of led bulbs that was done on the previous page .. I commented as to know is it allowed in India .. Are those leds which people have installed allowed on road . without any R.TO..formalities OR any compliances in India .. Or is it illegal .. And people still mount then as headlight bulb alternative ...do post whatever knowledge u have about this !!

Nope bud. Thats the reason why i am asking you to be cautious.Originally posted by Leejan View PostSure thing I'll see wars possible .. Actually the thing is I want to try it out .. And see for my self how much difference it makes ..
And as per the sproketing site it says the top speed will reduce and acceleration will increase .. Which idk u just said the opp of .. Just check the screenshots i sent ( each pic is of the 3 different setups stock / current/custom) see the kmph in the last column ... On stock its 102 current a little more and if I put the duke chain its 99.2... So I'll have more acceleration and less top speed ..
Anyways if u know anyone who has done something like this do tell him/ her for a review ..I'll be glad .. If I get it done I'll suerly post a review on the forum...

Sure thing I'll see wars possible .. Actually the thing is I want to try it out .. And see for my self how much difference it makes ..Originally posted by kris123456 View PostDuke Chain is heavy and its O Ring.
Cutting ORing chains is not recommended.
If the length matches, you can go ahead.
You would be over gearing and at the same time, you are using a heavy chain.
This results in
- More load on Engine and pistons.
- Reduced Acceleration.
- Increased Top speed.
If you are fine with these risks. you can go ahead. I wouldn't recommend anything other than stock. You can use apache front sprocket to overgear it. but nothing more.

I did some research and found this site to calculate everything about sproketing... So now do give ur opinion on wat u feel about this ... See my main question is .. Will the sprockets of the duke 200 fit onto the fz without any modification ...ik that life span of x rings is better that is y I want to try it ..

Hey .Originally posted by kris123456 View Postx- rings reduce acceleration over O Rings. Make a note of that.
When it comes to performance, Regular Chains > O Rings > X Rings.
When it comes to Life of chains. X Rings > O Rings > Regular Chains.
Not sure of the stock setup of FZ16 V2 and of Duke, so cannot comment much over there.
If you could provide the Teeth (Both Front and Rear)on both these vehicles at Stock, we could guesstimate the advantage and power drop.
Coming to life of chain, you might get a bit more outta Duke chain, because, its for a bike with 200 CC and you are using it on a 150. So, less load on chain. Which means More life. But Duke chain is expensive too. So the cost per KM might be more than regular Yamaha Chains.

I'm planing on a headlight upgrade and I didn't consider leds ..but out of the many things to be considered .. Most important thing is are they LEGAL in India ? Cuz here atlest in goa... If u change ur headlight to a hid or any type of white light other then that light being stock setup. The cops stop the bike and either fine the owner or give a warning and tell them to change it asap .. So thats the problem .if anyone has any more info on this pls reply and shed some light on this topic..

Well can someone pls reply to this post .. Idk I haven't received any info on this post as yet ..Originally posted by Leejan View PostMy first post here .
I have done 52k km on my fz -s V2.0 and have changed the chain set 4 times uptill now and I do quite a lot of offroading and trail riding and my bike is is good shape .. I read the topic of sproketing and gearing on xbhp .. And wanted to know if a duke 200 chain set will fit onto my fz-s V2.0 directly it will add a bit more acceleration to the bike I know ..
Secondly its a 502 chain and has x- rings so doesn't it have better performance and longer life span if maintained properly ?

These have a fan built in which helps in cooling. Also the build quality is really good.
As for the light output, here is a pic showing how both lamps on at low beam (they are really bright!).
Excuse the road ahead. Route planning gone horribly wrong
