I own a Yamaha FZS purchased in first half of 2012 and a TVS Jupiter (2017 model).

Now, I am planning for a bike ride from Navi Mumbai to Bengaluru. Is it advisable to ride on FZS or should I prefer TVS Jupiter?

Yamaha FZ fork filled with wrong oil quantity

    Hi XBHPians,

Recently my Yamaha FZ front forks oil seal was leaking.
So, I took my bike to a nearby local mechanic. He changed the seals as well as changed Fork oil in both the front forks.

He filled 350ml of Motul 20w fork oil in each fork. But, later while going through Yamaha FZ Thread i got to know that the correct fork oil quantity should be 459ml.
Is there any way i can fill 109ml more without disassembling the whole setup?

There is a disturbing loud noise whenever I go through any big pot hole. Mechanic is not willing to admit his mistake, he is telling me there is no problem with oil quantity and advising me to change the suspension springs which are inside !.

Please tell me if there is a way i can just open the top bolt, pour some oil? will it work.
Don't want to shell out 200 rs again for fork servicing in some other service center.

Any past drops or accidents to rear, which have hit chassis hard? maybe some bends? Is Swing arm in perfect condition, i mean without bends?

Also, How often do you lube your chain?

    HI,
I own a Yamaha FZ. Currently using Motul 7100 engine oil in my FZ.
Which oil i should use for top up whenever the oil level goes down.
(Motul 7100 has comparatively longer drain interval).

I dont have another bottle of Motul 7100 since it is bit expensive, can i use any other cheaper oil?
Is there any low cost alternative to use it for top up.

Buddy lube the chain at every 500 Kms there are lot of chain sprays available in the market but any one of them and lube the chain for every 500 Kms that’s it. Check weather the chain slackness is not too tight & not too loose. If u r fed up with the SVC people take the bike to a good local mechanic he can solve the issue.
