i bought fzs.fi yesterday, the dealer said chain will loose after few kms. so no need to slack (3-4cm as mentioned in PDI report) , what should i do?
i didnt even got it polished. lol but i ignore that but chain slackness is concerning

2018 fz fi spotted. Coming equipped with rear disc, Led headlamp, new instrument console.
People planning to buy the fz do wait for the new variant to launch.

Wanted to try pirelli sport demon/dragon, but no local availability and 2015 stock online is keeping me away.
You can also have a look at Mrf revz s its 130/70 is also a radial tyre which comes with r15 v2/s as stock.This is also a good tyre & will be much cheaper compared to michelin but don't expect these to perform as good as michelins.
Do post pictures of your new tyres and also share your experience about your new tyres.

Decided to go with mrf fy2 at front and Michelin pilot street 130/70 at the rear. I hope it's the right choice. Do not upsize the front tyre to michelin pilot street 110, this tyre has a different aspect ratio which will result in speedo error and secondly a broader front tyre will make the front end a bit heavy to steer. Revz Y is a bit harder compound compared to revz m which comes stock on gixxers.
Both 130/70 and the 140/70 will result in 2 changes 1- both being higher profile tyre the bike will become tall geared as a result you will lose a bit of acceleration but will also gain a bit of top end. 2- being tall tyres the height of the bike from rear will increase as a result the braking will be more front biased as you mentioned the feedback from rear brakes will decrease a bit.
There is no chain problems as you mentioned and the changes I mentioned are not because of radial or bias ply tyres these are because of tyre height i.e. aspect ratio of the tyres.
I am using Zapper s 140/70 and quite happy with it, on the stock tyre my bike used to scrape on speed breakers with pillion but after putting on the new taller tyres the bike never touched any speedbrakers
I miss the low end punch but on long stretches the bike feels more relaxed now on higher speeds as the bike does higher speed on lesser rpms
140/70- 98mm tyre height
130/70- 91mm tyre height
140/60- 84mm tyre height
If you love the stock performance of the bike and don't want to alter the performance of the bike stick to stock sizes both on front and rear.Last edited by Rajdip Saha; 01-04-2018, 01:19 AM.

My fz16 v2 fuel gauge struck at 3rd bar..after i refilled my tank.bar decreases 6 to 5 to 4 normally while fuel getting low.but after that it is struck at 3rd bar even at tank was dry..what is the problem guys.?sry for bad English

It's not an issue or problem. That's how electronic fuel injected engines starts. Any brand bike with FI work's like this.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post

Service the bike regularly, change the consumables at the intervals mentioned and ride without worrying.

Yamaha Fazer FI Engine Oil change experience
First impressions of Motul oil i am using are very good.But it may be partially to the fact that i was running my last yamalube for too long(6500~km).But one thing is for sure,At higher revs ie beyond 6-6.5k engine feels a lot more smooth than it did with yamalube.Also there was a a sound from engine block sometimes though not substantial when i swithed off the engine.That particular sound is reduced with engine oil change.I know i may be over analysing but i pay too much attention to my engine.
