Re: Yamaha FZ16 version 2.0
My 1st biggest investment in life with my own earned money..
Was saving to buy this machine since many months when panther black was my choice but couldn't save much and got delayed. After few months that bs4 thing got introduce and new bomber black came into picture. It seem not so interesting as the grey graphics on black were not much visible so then had to switch to FZ S FI instead of FZ FI. In january 2018 made up my mind as well as bank balance and finally on 4th jan 2018 booked FZ S FI opal white from Dolphin yamaha, asalpha showroom. On 18th jan 2018 took the delivery after getting all the rto process done.
My daily run is from andheri to thane which comes to 46.2 km daily followed the run in period as per manual book the bike is superb comfortable in moving condition but in slow moving traffic where only 1st and 2nd gear is used the bikes heat is observed near left side leg area also the gear feels hard but when again the bikes start moving on roads no problem is faced. When taking delivery the odo had 2 km but the tyre and bike were in new condition i asked dealer whether can i get option to select bike from 2-3 lots but he said no you will get bike in proper condition. It costed me Rs.96800/- (Rs.700/- leg guard)
Today completed around 900 km so gave it for 1st free service which costed me Rs.904/- don't know what does free service means when am charged this much. Please check is it proper or need to go with some other yamaha svc.
The only good thing is i was allowed to see my bike getting service infront of me. I took care of bike till date but past 2 days due to my belt the tank got few scratches which i regret why it happened to me at last moment. But rest everything is fine. From 1-500 km i rode the bike under 4500 rpm at 40-50 speed and then 500-900 km under 6000 rpm at 40-69 speed. I always try to ride it in eco mode and after 69 speed the eco mode gets off at 70+ speed i have touched 80 speed at 6000 rpm the bike is smooth feels so good.
My only concern is the AHO why i can't switch it back to previous model by putting the switch i asked dolphin yamaha svc they said it cannot be done. Also in signals where we wait for more then 1min i switch off engine using kill switch but AHO is on will it affect my battery or i should turn off the key as well.

i am not riding bike anymore till i get my Tyre replaced, will go with PIRELLI DIABLO II this time..Originally posted by Om1234 View PostTake no risk on tyre buddy,it can be dangerous and even fatal. After one incident i dont recommend anyone to take risk on tire.
Last year me and my group of friends were on a long ride,we were continiously riding for 1 hours or so,that too in hot summer in the noon time, and my friend who was riding apache 180 which had some crack in sidewalls like you have ,but he ignored them and out of sudden his rear tyre got burst boom! the bike got disbalanced fell from the bike and went sliding about 20 metres with the bike.Luckily he was wearing high quality riding gear he escaped with minor injuries.
Later when inspecting the bike ,the tyre repair
shop told us that ,the crack were becoming very deep and the tube came out from the sidewalls of the tyre and it eventually burst out. So brother i would suggest getting a new good quality of tyre rather than risking your life.

how safe it is to ride on these?
tyre threads are good and when i checked with SVC guy, he said that tyre has life and no need to worry.
please advice attached pics? what is the ideal time to change the rear tyre?
also, if i need to replace, what are the better options than the stock ones?

Same. My bike has done 10k.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostI also had to change the accelerator cable 6 months ago as the accelerator was not returning itself and recently my right fork was leaking so decided to replace oil and fork seal for both the fork.
The fork seal leaked at around 10k kms which is too early I think.

Yep. I was worried sick. Last service I had to replace shock absorber seal, accelerator cable.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostNo need to worry every bike has that hole. Its just there to drain water or moisture from the exhaust. I have also faced water dripping from there specially when I wash the bike and start after a day or two or in rainy seasons. Its nothing but water and its absolutely ok. Just a few drops come out and that's too very rarely, you can google about this thing and everywhere it says its completely normal and nothing to worry about.

And from the looks of it that hole must have been there since the very beginning. Only it hasn't been dripping or I have not noticed it till yesterday.

10-15k [emoji33]Originally posted by Prithvirajmn8 View PostYou will have to change the alloy, preferably both because new alloy are different in Design.
Front disk are different.
Then break pedals needs to be replaced. All the fluid systems to be fitted.
Almost 10-15 k you will have to spend for the modification if it is possible to do.
