U want to sell the bike just for the silly reason of sound from the chain how funny. Buddy lube the chain at every 500 Kms there are lot of chain sprays available in the market buy any one of them and lube the chain for every 500 Kms that’s it. Check weather the chain slackness is not too tight & not too loose. If u fed up with the SVC people take the bike to a good local mechanic he can solve the issue. Even if u clean and lube the chain at regular intervals there will be some sound from the chain u can’t hide the chain sound completely 100%. Because of the dusty and bad roads in our country the chain tends to get dirty loose & noisy within a short period of time.

If it is only few who are facing this problem, i think you guys have to slow down a bit and accelerate slowly. Also, do you lube your chain often ?

Try to check the chain of FZ 25. As its a bigger bike, should have more durable one. If you can retro fit that one, should work fine for you. Also, drop a post in the sprockets thread, which should give you more responses to your problem.

If you rev your engine to 8K often, you will have a more damaged engine. Isn’t it?

If you don’t cross 5k rpm you will have less damaged engine.

If you ride slowly in higher gears and let engine knock, you will have a more damaged engine there too.

All depends on how you ride. My bikes last at least 100k. Last 10-15 k with sipping oil though 🙁 my earlier bikes are 150 cc pulsars though.

I need your suggestions and some expert advise as to what is the right thing to do .. Regular servicing or do the engine overhaul..

    Will a duke 200 chain set fit onto a fz-s V 2.0 ?

    My first post here .
I have done 52k km on my fz -s V2.0 and have changed the chain set 4 times uptill now and I do quite a lot of offroading and trail riding and my bike is is good shape .. I read the topic of sproketing and gearing on xbhp .. And wanted to know if a duke 200 chain set will fit onto my fz-s V2.0 directly it will add a bit more acceleration to the bike I know ..
Secondly its a 502 chain and has x- rings so doesn't it have better performance and longer life span if maintained properly ?

If you know tech specs, try to do some sprocketing with apache front sprockets, which should give it a taller gearing and should be more comfy on highways.

Your bike can go much further than you. so, take breaks as you like. You need not adjust for your bike's requirements. Considering your bike is in good condition.
Bike is in good condition, some changes are required especially rear tire.

has anyone used bar end mirrors on fz? if yes then please share the experience, because the OEM right hand side RVM is damaged due to a small bang against a door while parking so i was thinking to replace with a set of bar end mirrors, if they serve the purpose, otherwise go ahead with ugly one from Yamaha.

If the road is good, you should be able to cover almost 150 kms in 2 hours. Do take a can of chain lube with you. Lube the chain at aprox 500 km.
    Sure, noted with thanks.

Best of luck for your ride.
Yes, would be getting it serviced this week, at-least 3 days before the scheduled trip.

I did a Mumbai Pune through Old Mumbai Pune Highway by Yamaha FZS and Jupiter. Yamaha was much comfortable & good to control, whereas on a scooter I did not have much confidence due to which I was riding slower than usual.

My concern is with my Yamaha FZS which is a 5+ year old, should I still prefer riding by bike. If yes, I suppose some rest would be necessary for the bike as well.
What is the duration of rest and at what intervals should I consider? This would be my first long road trip covering over 900 kms.
