The pain is real Kiran. Just so you know with the fuel price conundrum, Cairn Energy the biggest oil producer in the country has packed bags purely because of "disastrous tax" policies. India may have some policies right, but where it's rightfully exercised is another subject. Strange with this budget, with the govt going guno-ho about all electric and subsidies for electric vehicles, this 2021 budget seems to have taken a straight shot at them, levying tax on solar, imported electronic and nitty components which is extremely disappointing. This clearly states a lack of long term vision and the status quo is basically to bring for a temporary patch till the upcoming fiscal. Anyways, we shall cry over this matter over a mug of barley sometime (Oh, BTW this too, imported attracts 100%)
Sigh indeed!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Ah yes, I can't afford those imported barley's, I'll stick to my fries (Oh no, the sunflower, soya oil too costs 20% more now), probably skip both and just ride it out in our bikes(Oh no, this to has SAED of additional ₹11 on petrol now)😅
How about just catch-up up for a glass of free water (Before free water too gets BED+SAED+AIDC'ed)😂

Rear sets was developed mainly for track use where in with normal brake lever position, your foot will scrape the tarmac during cornering, so rear sets were introduced so that your legs stay put back and it wont scrape during cornering.
But those are not recommended for city rides or touring, given the already horrible committed riding position of RC390, you will hurt your lower back in the long run.
For better brake feel, try to brake with your heel during hard braking and rest your foot at on the footrest using you toe other times

IMO rearsets have an advantage in case of a fall as they don't fold like the regular footpegs. I speak from experience as i had a ligament tear in my foot from a fall on an R15. Though having said that i haven't changed rearsets on my RC since the stock ones are quality alloy rearsets and unlike say an R15 changing them invovles removing engine mounting bolts AFAIK. (Tip: installing swingarm spools can help take some of the impact.)
Thanks..basically if that doesnot increase comfort like adjustable lever than no point of getting that..will see what i can do may be i remove some brake fluid and will keep at bare min so lever will need more travel because after riding for some time somehow unknowingly i start putting pressure on my brake lever.
Hello..i found my almost 2 yr & 2000 km old rear metzeler have tiny tiny cracks on middle of tyre..so i will change once things are normal but is there any way i can get some warranty and if this tiny cracks are safe for 80-100 kmph riding.i dont want to go for metzeler again in case i need to change the tyre as similar issue was there in my earlier rear metzelers( front was always fine) so in case i need to change which tyre will be adviced ..new apache michilin i am thinking..any advice will be appreciated..thanks
I Always parked my bike in shade which never get hot also i take my bike routinely just it was standing during covid period..

Tyre developing minor cracks after 2 years is common, tyre shelf life itself is 3years.
Rubber starts to degrade after 3 years.
New Apache tyre Michelin Road 5 is not suited for RC390.
Best to switch to Diablo Rosso 2 or Metz M5 or Ceat Rad X1

You my friend haven't come across MRFs and JK Tyres. They crack like roasted almonds given the wrong conditions. Jokes apart, I would suggest Apollos they are comparatively better, and are radials all around and offer fantastic ride characteristics. My recommendation would be Apollo and Michelins. If a bike is parked long enough, the weight of the bike will accumulate a set spot and cause stress induced cracked coupled with ambient conditions, tire pressure and what not. But, if you're store or park your bike for the long term, make sure your tire pressures are set correctly and the vehicle moved at least by somebody a few yards back and forth.
Good luck.

The bike was lightly used except lockdown..the same thing happen to earlier metzelers as well although front are always fine..i am also planning to go with michelin the one coming with new apache 310 but next year as i dont think i will be able to ride much till yr end..just curious if these tyres will suffice till that time for light use?

Absolutely they will. Curious as to where you park your vehicle. Cracks don't happen on a tire easily unless the bike is parked in baking sun rays and not used for a while. Michelin's are a great combo and will give you almost on par performance when compared to the Chinese made Metz currently. Make sure, the tire is filled to the correct PSI and at least moved a KM when parked for long, your tire cracking issue will reduce by half fold. Nevertheless, proper tire care is important irrespective of the tire brand. Good luck.

Thanks.Bike was parked in covered parking with no sun even the temp is bit cooler in my parking with perfect ventilation.bike was having always correct tyre pressure and in a week atleast i was riding for 4-5 km ,i can say i was keeping best care with my limited knowledge as earlier rear tyre was also cracked .not sure metzeler w rated rear tyre have issue after 2-3 year.
can i check if you have any idea about riding with these tiny cracks for a while with 80-100 kmph speed ?Not want to spend money till early next yr.

Hey buddy. In engineering terms having cracks on rubber means rubber is old. That's means it has lost its properties. So, ride at moderate safe speed.
Note:- It's always recommend to change the old tyre the before monsoon.

Minute cracks aren't a worry. Even my bike's tire have minute shallow surface cracks, these are absolutely okay. If you have sidewall cracks, and fissure like cracks, then it's recommended you not to push it, and replace your tire. Can you share a picture of your tire, that would clear some air.
