Now, if the same battery is subject to electrical load such as usage of headlamp at night, you can drain your battery sooner than the battery can charge even though the bike has run the same kays. Do keep a tab for a few days and make sure the battery lugs are torqued properly and seated.

Hi all. I've been facing this issue in the first gear of the bike. It kind of refuses to go into the first gear, I have to press it multiple times to make it fall into its place. And it's happening only in the first gear. Did anyone experience it before?
I'm planning to visit the SVC. Will it be covered under warranty? And I hope they don't have to open the engine or anything like that.

It could be as simple as a problem with the tie-rod assembly(adjustment/replacement), or the part 'stopper drum comp' (costs around 40rs) and worse case the shift shaft itself. Very rarely does it go beyond this (i.e. the actual gear assembly itself getting damaged)
Hopefully at the max it will involve removing the clutch side cover & clutch basket.. nothing major if the mechanic knows what he is doing. I've had the entire shift shaft replaced on the day i took delivery of the bike .
Get it checked at the svc.. and yes it will be done under warranty.

• KTM RC 200- Always on Low Fuel Level Indicator problem

Hello fellow bikers,

I have a 2015 Dec RC 200 and till last month, things were fine with it. Now all of a sudden the bike started showing low fuel indicator the moment i switch on the bike. I took it the service centre in Electronic City, Bangalore. I am a frequent visitor to this showroom/centre. The guy over there opened the petrol tank and examined and told me "Sir , the fuel pump is not working properly. You have to change it and it will cost you around 6K" . So far there is no other problem than this with the bike. I clocked over 13K km and serviced the bike in regular intervals. If any one else from the community had faced this kind of issue, kindly help me with this.

Thank you

Pump issue - bike mostly won't start. I hope you are waiting till the bike completes the "primming".. till the whole "software" is loaded and all.. not raising it along with the start like an activa..... keeping atleast 2 liters of fuel in the tank....

if you are doing that and having the issue, get it changed under warranty.. they can't charge you for a lemon that they gave you.... this doesn't look like a pump issue, mostly fuel level sensor issue.. s1d might have a better view of this...

Thank u.. Oh yeah, mostly i am a sane rider in city and warm the bike up before i take it out on any day. I tried filling the tank up till the brim but still the indicator stays the same. And i still didn't find any logic between the pump issue and the indicator as the service guy says. He added "Sir, only one year warranty for electricals. If sensor is fried i am not sure whether it will come under warranty".

Your float is mostly shot. Don't pay a rupee from your pocket as its not a wear and tear item.

It could most probably be a faulty float that is causing wrong fuel level readings.
They could actually pressure test the fuel pump and that will let you know if it is the fuel pump which is indeed faulty. And being a sane rider has nothing to do with the pump.. it's just a part (unfortunately electronic) and can fail anytime.

And whatever is the cause it is covered under warranty.. don't fall for the BS they say like 1 yr for electricals.. It's 2yrs or 30k km which ever is earlier.
Only the battery and bulbs are not covered under 2yr warranty (battery 1yr and bulbs are consumables hence no warranty). Everything else electronic/electricals (stator coil, ignition coil, ecu, fuel pump, sensors etc..) all are covered under the standard 2yr/30k km warranty.

Write a polite but strong email to [email protected] & [email protected] explaining the issue and the response from the dealer. Tell them you want it in writing that warranty will not be provided.

You could also try visiting the Auto Service, Banashankari dealer.. i've heard good reviews about them. But who ever the dealer don't budge if they decline warranty.. and try to avoid leaving the bike at the svc.. always stay around and get it fixed.

A quick update on my 1st gear issue.
Went to the SVC. All he had to do was adjust the rod connecting the lever to the gearbox. So he just tightened and loosened a pair of nuts. Everything is fine now.
He also said it's a very common issue in rc200 and rc390.
