Even i use the front brake mostly but there is no chance of wearing out on any of the tires and my odo is at 11k! The faster they wear out, the faster i can get new ones with better grip!

What tyres are you planning on putting up next? Heard that MRF made their tyres compound softer now.. should offer better grip..

Braking power is reduced when the brakes are wet, i.e. washed, when run over water filled ditches or if any solvent is present on the motorcycle rotors like oil or grease etc. They get back on track as the pads come in contact with the rotor. For water it's usually within minutes of riding, but if you have persistent poor brake performance get it checked.

Cheers!

Thanks, i was worried about the vibes, The braking is back to normal now.

I forgot to wear shoes while taking the bike back from the svc and was wearing sandals maybe that is the reason i noticed vibes on the pegs, i don't have a habit of wearing sandals while riding.

The current tyres offer good grip mostly in dry conditions and it takes a bit longer to reach the optimum temperature and inspire confidence. In wet conditions I always feel like walking on a wire kind of feel, the tyres never felt confidence inspiring on wet roads. The MRF (Revz-FC1 & Revz-C1) on RC are different compared to Dukes and they never look worn even after a short burnout. My next choice of rubber would be Michelin or Pirelli.

Yeah totally agree with you on all those points! Pirellis are currently the best tires for these bikes but they cost around 23k for a pair! The metzelers which are almost equally competent come at 16-17k while the michelins though much better than mrfs yet not as good as the pirellis or metz are the cheapest and cost 8k a pair nearly the same as that of mrfs

How is the rear brake for you guys? Something seems wrong with mine from day1, i thought it will be alright in a few days since its new, the problem is it has very very little braking power i feel, even when i'm doing barley 10-15 kmph and i use just the rear brake there seems to be little effect, first noticed it when i was riding around 30-40kmph and to check the power i pressed just the rear brake lever completely and still no noticeable effect, when i went for the service and mentioned the problem, they said it will correct soon as the bike is new, i said its been 50 days, i think it should've been corrected by now, they said then you didn't use the rear brake at all (which isn't true a bit) and pointed at the disc showing no wear, i still asked them to check it and after that the lever feels a little tight but still no effect even when i push the lever completely, what seems to be the problem here and how to correct it?

I think air might have entered the lines which carry oil. bleed them and problem would be solved!

that's how the brake on the 200's are for at least a couple of 1000km. some folks find it odd and some get used to it/use the front most of the times.
some ppl tend to ride the brakes, i.e. always applying slight pressure on the rear brake lever unintentionally and this might cause the pads or rotor to be glazed a bit.
couple of things you can do is to ask them to do is to increase the free play on the foot lever, rub down the pads on sandpaper, clean the rotor with some water and scotch brite pad and finally bleed the line a bit. these few steps will definitely improve the feel and bit almost immediately.

Thanks, I am visiting another KTM service center tomorrow ill ask them to do it but if it is normal for some 1000KMs like s1d said and the brakes will get better over time then its fine i guess, i thought mine had a problem, but i'll get it done anyways.

the rear brake is not as powerful as the front.. simple reason being if the rear brake locks up, you will skid and fall.

you are saying like the brake is not working at all.. it feels like that only. the reason is that upon braking, the force will fall forward. Hence, you should use the front brake for the stopping to be more effective. but use engine braking and light rear brake..

try one thing.. go to an empty area, an open road, go fast like 20s.. then slam the rear brake.. the rear wheel will lock up and skid.. you should be able to control that.. that will prove that the brake is working, if the bike is still freely moving, you must visit the svc for fixing it under warranty!! always wear helmet & protective gear, and be considerate about your surroundings when performing the above actions..

ride safe..

As i said i tried slamming the brakes while being in 30-40 speed and just yesterday i did it again on ~10 kmph, the brake had no effect. But I'll see if im doing something wrong and am not pressing the brakes enough if not I'll have to get it checked, i have to rely on the front brakes for now.

My bike's rear brake is pretty decent amd under dry conditions gradual application has never resulted in a slide and i mostly use rear only when moving in traffic. the problem you are quoting is grave and you should get it checked ASAP. Also even during first few 1000 kms i did have braking power from rear break, just not as much as i have now.

get it checked,as long as you have warranty utilize it well, even for minor niggles.

P.s my rear brake is good enough for fishtailing!!!

Ajay Vishwanath i tried doing what you said again this morning, i was riding at 20kmph and slammed the rear brake as much as i could, there was no locking but a really slow deceleration most of which i assume was due to engine braking and i tried it again while pressing the clutch at 10 kmph, no major effect.
