KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Okay i can answer that now i guess. Its damn hard to get access to the air filter on our bike.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostYep.. My first thought and I have no idea how to remove and clean the filter... !!!
got myself a DNA high flow replacement air-filter and wanted to pop it in asap, so i decided i do it myself, how hard can an air filter swapping be, as i have did it at-least a hundred times on different motorcycles. boy i have never been more wrong in my life.
swapping or cleaning air filter in our bike is not a 5 minute job.
first you gotta remove the rider seat
then the pillion and the seat lock module to clean out the extented intake pipe,
to access the real airbox itself is another job,
remove the two bolts that serves as the holders for the rider seat. then remove the battery cover, and then on either sides, three allen bolts on the fairings and one near that "weird seemingly incomplete part between the tank and side fairing."
now we are one step away from popping the tank cover open, for that you need to remove all the 7 allen bolts holding the fuel cap, then carefully disengage the tank cover, from either side where the two allen bolts on fairing used to be.
now since the tank cover is open we have access to the air box.
but even now the box cover wouldn't come off even after removing the two bolts holding it in place, for that we need to disconnect the ECU harness connection so that the air box cover can be removed easily without any damage
after cleaning or swapping the filter repeat the whole lot of steps backwards to complete the process

And by the way ordered myself a pair of traction grips , loved the feel of those stomp grips that you have on your bike , a friend has the same on his 390 and it indeed works brilliantly well.Last edited by vishnu.leo; 10-08-2015, 02:21 AM.Just your friendly neighborhood panda. @thebigfatlazypanda

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Anyone up for lavasa tomorrow morning or day after im new in Mumbai don't know anyone who rides ...felt this is the right place to ask ...
Aim of the ride - conquering those brilliant twisties I have heard so much about ..and of course the usual chai/ snack./dhaba
Execution - leave at 5:15 -5:30
Properly geared (jackets gloves helmet min.)
No rash / immature riding
Rc is a track spec. Bike , lavasa twisities is what comes closest to that . so all of you who just commute on it daily maybe it's time to unleash its brilliance.
Pm me if you up for it..
cheers

Ishaan.humble not much difference in sound, but there is a noticeable smoothness in throttle transitions and engine temperature, need to get a powertronics module to get the most out of it i guess.
nilesh9777 no, after a couple of days reading through reviews, i settled for a pair from TechSpec USA. a friend is sourcing it for me.Just your friendly neighborhood panda. @thebigfatlazypanda

Who wears shorts while riding? Unless its like a 30 sec ride in the compound of the building you live in.Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View Postthose stompgrips that I got from the US.. they are simply awesome.. does an amazing job when cornering.. only problem is that if you ride wearing bermuda/shorts, your hairs will get pulled!! I do :POriginally posted by jRay View PostWho wears shorts while riding? Unless its like a 30 sec ride in the compound of the building you live in.
whenever I need to oil the chain, I'll take her for a small ride to warm up the chain and then apply oil and then another small ride to make sure that the oil has spread all over the chain.. then come home and wipe out the excess oil..
I go on a pair of slippers, no helmet, no gloves, breaking all the rules for the short period of time.. feels classy.. :P
but when I look at others doing the same.. I feel disgust..
