Went to the SVC. All he had to do was adjust the rod connecting the lever to the gearbox. So he just tightened and loosened a pair of nuts. Everything is fine now.
He also said it's a very common issue in rc200 and rc390.
yeh, that's the tie-rod adjustment i was talking about. pretty common on these ktm's, get it checked and adjusted every service and it should be fine.

It is the "Auto Service" at banashankari opposite advaith hyundai svc near monotype bus stop and not the Banashankari KTM (near Pesit) service centre. These are two different svc's.

Srvn, s1d, ajay,

I visited Auto Service centre. The guys were polite and attended to the issue. But they didn't have the central database for service records setup to check for warranty. So the guy named Babu redirected me to the showroom in BTM, Udupi garden stop. In Btm showroom, there was a guy,Dinesh, he checked my service records and told "After ur periodic free services, the next service should happen within 23.5K or 120 days from last service. And ur last service happened on Sep 1 2016 which is way over the time period mentioned. So I am not sure whether ur bike comes under warranty. Leave ur bike at the centre on monday and i will mail to management and check with them whether this comes under warranty and let u know and if everything goes ok u can vollect it by Tuesday"

But in Service Record book the scope of warranty says
"To avail the benefits of warranty, the following are mandatory.
1.Availing three periodic services and two paid service at every 7500 kms.
2.Maintaining all service records duly signed and stamped by dealers with regular oil changes"

So far my service intervals were
30.1.2016 - 917kms
02.07.2016- 5342 kms
01.09.2016- 7469 kms

And my current odo is around 12.5K kms. As per my understanding, my bike is still under the required kms and eligible for service since in warranty scope it didn't say anything related to the time period. Please correct me if i am wrong. I just want to know if my bike still comes under warranty because of the kms thing or the service center guy's point is valid and correct.

The service interval is based on number of days or prescribed kms whichever comes first. So even if the Kms ridden is well under the interval, mentioned in the service coupon if you have exceeded the service interval days then he what Dinesh says is correct meaning you skipped/missed the service hence you may not be awarded warranty. Here's where rapport with svc's helps, try and talk to them to negotiate and firstly try to understand what the real issue is from the svc.

Other users can also pitch in and give your take on this.

Cheers

Yeah point noted Srvn. My only doubt is the warranty scope technically didn't mention time period except for that 7.5K kms but the service coupon does. So i was neither here nor there of a conclusion.

the coupon clearly mentions its either the number of days or km whichever earlier.. so they could decline warranty. yes, i agree the number of days was not explicitly mentioned in the warranty terms.. maybe you could take them to court if they decline warranty ?
try and negotiate.. but first find the cause of the faulty fuel gauge readings. if it's the float and it can be fixed for a few bucks, just pay up and get it done but if it requires the entire fuel pump to be replaced then try to negotiate for warranty.

most folks just do their free services (well, because its free) and thereafter neglect regular servicing at recommended periodic intervals. at least stick to the recommended intervals during the 2 yr warranty period and thereafter you can save money by delaying services (i.e. if you don't clock as many km between the recommended intervals). this piece of advice goes out to everyone who are concerned about warranty irrespective of the motorcycle.

I have a viaterra claw pro v2 luggage bag. I use it for long trips. For short trips u just need a tailpack or a tankbag.

From my experience, claw pro v2 holds pretty good but without bungee cords it is bit of pain as well at high speeds. Claw pro v2 comes with adjustable straps and double d rings to secure the bag to the backseat. But, no matter how properly u tie it , it is better to secure it with bungee cords.
I have used it on my friend's Himalayan as well and it was great. Always keep a couple or more of bungee cords extra they might come handy.

Attached images for your reference. Sorry for the potato quality of the photos though.
