New fairing costs 8K and the fairings are pretty strong and survive a couple of slides (unless it's a major one) on the tarmac.. direct impact, it's a problem, but the fairing is pretty strong and good.. don't worry about it.. not worth it...

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Don't get sliders.. they cost approx 8000 & hook on to your 25KG trellis frame OR the 15KG engine head both of which are not worth breaking in a crash..Originally posted by Mahesh Sandana View Post

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hi all, I have a question. How frequently should I get my rc200 serviced? The manual says after every 7.5k kms. But I saw in a blog that it's better to get it done after every 3.5k kms or so. I also hit a 100 kmph very frequently like once in a day atleast so considering this, shouldnt I get it serviced much before? Mostly for the oil change that is.
Thanks

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Around 5k is what most of us are getting it done for. If you are maintaining your chain well and checking your engine oil level regularly, I believe that anything below 5k is not necessary..Originally posted by raj.pranay View PostHi all, I have a question. The manual also says 120 days or 7.5k km whichever is EARLIER. So don't forget the 'days' limit.Originally posted by raj.pranay View PostHi all, I have a question. How frequently should I get my rc200 serviced? The manual says after every 7.5k kms.
Do you do 7.5k km in 4 months every-time ?
Around 5~6k km interval is a safer bet IMO.. and don't forget to keep the chain cleaned/lubed every 500~700km.

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Thanks for the inputs. I'll keep them in mind.
And about the chain, how much does it cost to get it cleaned/lubed? And where do you suggest i get it done? Any roadside mechanic will do or do I have to go to the service centre for that for a good quality lube/cleaning?
Or Can we do it ourselves? How tricky is it?
Thanks!

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
I prefer to do it my selves. Just use diesel or chain cleaner spray and cotton waste to remove the residual oil and dust. And then use chain lube to lubricate it(I use 3M chain lube). You can get the chain tightened once in 1000 to 1500 kms from any of the local mechanic guys...Originally posted by raj.pranay View PostThanks for the inputs. I'll keep them in mind.

Sometimes when cranking the bike up the console goes blank for 2-3 seconds and when it turns on the time is reset. Its frustrating having to set the time everytime that happens. It happens randomly, did it happen with anyone else?Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

Re: KTM RC 200 Owners Experience Thread
Hey guys!
Posting after a looong time!
Quick update- about to complete 2 years riding the rc200, and already covered 30k km. Past year was covered with tonnes of touring and new experience! Still in love with the motorcycle, and damn, this thing is reliable - no unplanned breakdowns ever and the machine still runs like it's new.
I am planning to give my headlights an upgrade and looking for aftermarket prospects which don't ruin the electrical system but are more brighter and illuminate better, any suggestions?Keep Revving, stay happy!

Get the battery(and battery connections) , fuses and the console connector checked.Originally posted by jRay View PostSometimes when cranking the bike up the console goes blank for 2-3 seconds and when it turns on the time is reset.
