Thanks buddy! 1500 kms is at a higher side but this is just an approx number. If the chain looks dirty, I clean it For example, during rains the interval may increase as the muck gets cleaned automatically while riding in rains. Similarly, I would clean more frequently during summer. Having said that, I am lazy and my other friends clean their chain between 500-1000 km .

Moreover, my riding is majorly on highways and maybe that's why the chain gets dry more often than dirty.

Actually, I did not hear any weird sound from the chain. As the kms were clocked, the chain got loose. I used to get it adjusted periodically. When the chain adjustment groove was at its highest position and there was looseness in the chain, I knew it was time to get it replaced. I checked the sprockets and their teeth were blunted as well.

The SS person told me that 24k KM was a very good mileage for chain + sprockets. Maybe because I regularly oil the chain every 2 weeks and clean it every 1500 kms.

Finally... Sold the bike.

It was just a shitty experience after a year. I Had completed 26k km in 1.5 years and had invested a lot of money in maintaining the bike. Got tired and sold it on olx within a day for 74k. Didn't feel such relief in last 2 years.

Hello Everyone,

I have been off for few days. Went through all the messages , feels good to be back.

I am looking for a tire change, could you all please provide your inputs ? I'm looking for something that can handle a little bit of off-roading as well.

I'm so confused between a bias-ply / radial and Adv tyres ! Though ADV tyres doesn't go with kind of Bike our RS is, but still I'd like to give it a try.

Any inputs/suggestions would be really helpful.

P.S. I'm not the guy that usually love the corners.

Try getting the injectors cleaned. The injectors can be clogged due to spurious fuel. Try to get fuel only from trusted petrol pumps. Also, check for any carbon deposits on the spark plug.

What is the RPM level at idling? When does the bike stop (1) the moment you stop and release the throttle or (2) after try to move the bike on first gear after stopping for a while?

Hello Guys,
Though I registered long time ago but was not able to post anything here. So, here we go I had clocked almost 12.7k kms on My RS200 BS-III, bike is almost vibes free from engine side but fibre you know :P. But guys actually I'm facing ABS issue complained 3 times in SVC they told me the clear the sensor and checked the same the problem is appearing again and again, they changed me they will change abs wiring harness, but also telling whether it will solve the problem or not it's unconfirmed. Actually the issue going on is, initially in the startup ABS lights shuts off but after riding few kms and mostly using rear brakes the ABS light turns on then it hangs on the same, and then when I restart the bike it turns off, again sometimes after riding and braking at certain times it turns on. I'm just fed up . Kindly help me guys.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone suggest me the best service center for RS200 at chennai?

Also my high beam light clamp seems bended and cant adjust the knob, Whether need to replace the entire set or it can be repaired. The thing is beam light working properly but the problem is not able to adjust or focus to the road. Light is glowing properly but it got loosened and focusing out of the road.

If you have some doubts, you can try to reach speed of upto 100 once or twice and note the RPM in 6th gear. It must be around 7.5k. Don't try it too often though.
In bumper to bumper traffic or city traffic, the radiator fan kicks in more often because of frequent use of clutch and brakes.
Where was the coolant leakage exactly? Under the coolant reservoir? I don't think you need to keep the engine running for coolant to work correctly. The fan kicks in at a certain temperature, 95C if I am not wrong. If you switch off your bike, it is gonna get cool anyways! So you need not keep your engine running.
