Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Thanks for such quick reply!
And Yes, it's my first bike but I have ridden 100-125 cc bikes before.
Actually there was some problem with the ABS in the new bike( the ABS light was always on) which their service center sorted out eventually by opening the bike and all and they said it was some minor earthing problem but I still have my doubts.
That's what I am worried about, what if there is some problem in the engine as well which I can't know now. And the way it delivers, it only alleviates my concern. It's not smooth at all.
The radiator fan keeps starting in small distances. I just hope it's just the way this Bike behaves in the early K's and will start feeling like a Sports Bike after the 2nd Service.
One more question, there was some coolant leaking after the first service and the service center manager said there was nothing wrong with the bike, just that coolant was filled too much and advised me to keep the engine running for 2-3 minutes once you reach your destination for the coolant to work correctly, is that true?
I couldn't find anything like this on the internet that you got to keep the engine running for the bike to cool off.
Would you happen to know anything about it?

I have had a RS200 for more than 3 months though it has ridden just 500 Km till now(I don't travel much) and I got the first service done at 300 Km.
The thing is, the bike doesn't seem at all powerful to me- if anything it seems like it has the engine of a Splendor. Even at 60 km/hr at 6th gear, it seems like I am pushing it. How is it supposed to reach 140 km/hr top speed when it has to exert so much at 60 km/hr?
I know it says on the manual that you need to cover 2000 kms within 60 speed limit but does that mean only after such distance, it will start to feel like a Speedy Sports Bike?
I would love to hear the experience of other RS200 owners about their initial experience with this bike, did they also had to endure the first 1500-2000 Km like it being a feeble bike and only after the engine opening up completely, does it start to show its power?
Thanks in Advance!!!
Hi Divtail,
Is this your first bike or did you upgrade from some other bike?
I have done around 5k kms on my RS. The break-in period was a drooling period. I always wanted to rev it and unleash the potential of the machine.
In the break-in period, the bike might feel a little sluggish because of the new engine and piston. Give her a little time, keep the throttle under control for the first 1500kms. You might also want to change the engine oil too for better performance. My recommendation would be Motul7100. It enhances your bike to a great extent and you'll feel it yourself when you are on your bike.
The engine moves smoothly after your break-in so you can expect it to reach speeds of 140kmph with ease.
Good luck and Welcome to the family.
Cheers.

It was the head gasket (also one on the side was leaking). I had them replaced and everything is fine now. Thanks a lot for the advice!Originally posted by Minisoda View PostMost likely it'll be head gasket. Get it replaced and tell the mechanic to tighten the cover correctly. Cheers.

Currently I'm facing an issue with oil leaking from the top of the engine block, and some from the oil filter area. For the oil filter area I will be changing the filter and inspect the area for changes if needed, but for the engine block I have no idea where the leak is coming from.
Have you guys ever experienced this issue?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
material wise , its made from aluminium so too light but sturdy .Originally posted by NightRider_Bnglr View PostHow's the pull compared to the stock ones?
Are adjustable levers more hard or light
pull is adjustable , min to max
comfort wise , it has more contact patch with the fingers(thickness is more) , so less efforts. light to operate

Thanks mate, actually it was me!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostGet your lever play adjusted, if it's too tight, it means the clutch throw is high up at the lever range. Reduce the clutch throw and make sure you have enough freeplay. A local mechanic can help you too.
Probably the valve cover gasket or the spark plug gasket might be the culprit here. I think it's the valve cover gasket.
Cheers!

For me the clutch levers are so hard and it hurts my fingers when in traffic.
It's there any solution for this?
Will installing an adjustable clutch will make the pull lighter?
Please help me on this.
