Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience

RS 200 Demon Black, 2015 purchased

I stopped servicing the bike right after first service, because of terrible bajaj service center.

I only change oil and oil filter is due as I am unable to open one B**ch of a nut. Will go to service center for that and need tappet adjustment, which I am sure the lazy service guy will ignore saying all pulsars sound like that, but worth a try.

had to change both rims, when a asshole uncle suggested me to take interstate highway rather than NH and I ended up going through a pot hole at over 80kmph. I didn't even realize the rims where bent until after few kilometers I realized it was getting hard to turn the handle.

Traveled 300kms on broken rim and flat tires , MRF rocks, they have strong side walls which saved the day. I maintained 70kmph and still was able to make to my destination 300kms away. This was between Vizag and Hyderabad, Inter state highway is through khammam, apparently this route saves 60 odd kilometers.

But be prepared for 99% off road, as apparently Telangana Govt is sitting on 8000Cr of central fund saying there officers don't have time to give contracts.

Was a different experience, but went again the same route after one month and conquered the road with my bike in one piece.

Bike is super fast I mean it can go all day and wouldn't even break a sweat. It will do 120kmph all day, but not practical speed in India.

Safe speed upto 100kmph with ample breaking (I own a non-abs), Breaks are good but handling is awful.

At high speed the handle just won't move and slow speeds handle just sways like ballerina. I have not washed the bike since 6 months and it is dirty very very.

I faced stalling issue and stalling in first gear when moving from neutral. But I ignored and it never came up.

I just make sure the side stand is completely up.

Suggestion - Before you try anything, Know your bike completely before becoming adventurous. These are my experience.

But you may not have the same luck going through a pot hole at 80kmph, Wear protective gear and drive slow on single lane roads.

I googled a bit and read about a Ninja 650 that was having a similar issue (bike starting only in neutral and stalling). The culprit in that bike was a small pin below the clutch cable that was dislocated. I'm not sure whether it's the same problem but anyhow I'm taking it to the svc tomorrow. Will update on my findings.
Clutch sensors, also known as clutch switches, are a safeguard built into many modern cars and motorcycles. They exist to prevent an engine paired to a manual transmission from being started in gear. If that should happen, the starter motor is prevented by the drive-train from spinning at speeds sufficient to start the engine; rather, it attempts to locomote the vehicle. This is dangerous and almost certain to result in premature starter motor failure.

    Check the clutch cable thoroughly.

Second will also get solved by the above. Which is bike stalling.

If cleaning doesn't work, consider replacing the side stand sensor.

And get a second opinion from trained mechanic.

I had gone to Bangalore and came back on Sunday on the bike. Everything was fine that time. It's been raining, drizzling ever since.
Today I took it for a slightly longer ride to work and didn't notice any difference while riding. Maybe because I was late and was riding fast. Anyhow my office parking is completely covered and there's no chance of anything happening to my bike inside the premises. (Rounding security and I've been parking here for a year without any issues ever). After work I noticed that my bike was not starting in any gear position except for neutral. The battery was fine since all lights, horn etc are working fine. The sound when you switch on the bike is coming but the bike is just not starting. Not even trying to start. What might be the problem? Is it the spark plug? Also the stalling issue I mentioned in the previous post has increased so much that whenever I'm braking for more than 4-5 seconds the bike is stalling as soon as I engage the cluth. Please help me out. I take care of my bike and any issues with my bike (major-minor) freak me out.

And this problem started after I got my 3rd free service done. Prior to that, I had never faced this problem.

No, it doesn't jerk when it stalls. And yes, as soon as I engage clutch to shift down.

I regularly travel to Bangalore-Madekeri and it's always at the back of my mind that what do I do if it stalls while braking at a high speed on a highway. I almost always keep more than 3 ltrs fuel in my bike because of FI. Also this is something which doesn't happen regularly, but does happen every now and then. I just can't understand what is the root cause of the problem.
Anyone facing the same issue or at least knows what's causing it?

    Thanks.

Register a complaint with bajaj customer care, they'll call up the svc and make sure your bike will be serviced properly.
" Everything is working fine sir " is their standard dialouge.
My FI malfunction light up infront of the service guys & yet they said it "Normal"

I had a weird issue yesterday. The bike refused to start even after cranking 7 times, and when it started after few more tries, there was a huge decrese in power & the FI malfunction icon was glowing.
Rode the bike back to home since it was 8pm . And when i checked the bike after 30mins ,to my surprise it was working fine ,the FI error icon dissapeared.
Can anybody explain what actually happened here?
