    Hello buddy,

Are you sure about that? I still get to 100 in less than 10 seconds on the RS.

    Few differences though:
    1. 20 kg something extra weight than NS
    2. Fuel Injection (recent ride to the mountains showed much better performance-almost no power loss in comparison to NS)
    3. 1 tiny extra bit of [emoji470] horsepower

I easily reached 142 kmph on NS, due to the weight, this bike doesn't do that easily in sixth gear itself, however, this revs much better than the NS and if you really are trying to poke the top speed it screams to the 11k real red line in every gear where the rev limiter cuts off the power. That's how you get to the top speeds on this bike.
To sum it up, I still get almost similar and probably better 0-100 on this one than I did on the NS. I mostly ride solo, weight 82 kg, 6 feet 2 inches tall. I did my own awkward engine break in revving higher every 300 KM's and switched to a Motul engine oil instead of sticking to Bajaj's engine oil.
Is yours a BS 4 or BS 3? Do share details

    Happy riding

Yeah I am sure, not counted the time to reach 100 but it seems to be higher than NS.
The better revs on RS is undoubtedly the best upgrade from NS that I noticed, the scream it make attracts all the traffic and become a head turner. But mine cant go beyond 10k rpm, why is that so?
As I had purchsed this bike few days back so bajaj oil is feeded in its liver, will upgrade to Motul 7100 (or should I try Liqui Moly) in next service.
It is BS4, mine weight is 65kg, height approx 5 feet 11 inches.

I thought you said it was a 2017 one? If it's been purchased just a few days ago, aren't you doing an engine break in process? Or are you going all out? You're lighter than I am, mine does go beyond 10 k rpm but I don't do it very often and yes the exhaust note is very good, I'm not going to get an aftermarket for that. About the engine oil, yes I don't like the Bajaj one either but do talk to the service guy about the issue you're facing. Where are you from?

Why am I going to break my engine? I mean RS is made for high revs.

Break-In is not equal to break the engine.
The other term used for it is - run-in.
RS might be sweet and amazing to run at higher revs but a new bike/engine goes through a break-in or run-in process to make sure everything sets up nicely.

It is but I believe all engines require a breaking in procedure. That's my thoughts though to give it time to set the cylinder-piston kit well for a good performance later. If you're not planning to do that Try warming up your engine a little like up to 5 k for 5-6 KM's and then try revving hard, see if it goes beyond 10k rpm, if it doesn't, complain to the service guys.

I wanted an upgrade/equivalent for my NS200 I sold in 2015, would've bought it again if it had FI, it didn't. RS was not my first choice though.
Here's what i found on the competition:
1: booked a Jawa, test drive didn't impress, bike looks didn't suit me.
                2. Checked UM motors, too many complaints about engine.
                3. Tested R15 V3, uncomfortable for longer rides.
                4. FZ 25, test drive didn't impress, exhaust had known rusting issues, headlights reported inadequate, they took off the white paint option when they upgraded with ABS.
                5. CBR 250 R, no test drive available at showroom, not even a bike to look at, cost well over 2 lakh for a model launched in 2011 (engine n all).
                6. Dominar: uncertainty over new model in Feb, On road price above 2 lakh.
                7. Apache felt cramped.

Hence I trusted a Pulsar I'd owned before with added FI, twin projector headlamps, ABS, full fairing, all LED design.

                Ownership cost?
I refuel to full tank between RS 650-700 while there's still two bars pending on fuel meter and the trip meter shows between 280-410 kms.
Mileage between 28-42kmpl based on riding style
Got a foam seat for 450.
                Service cost 1290-Got Motul
Paddock stand 2800 one time investment
                Riding helmet and jacket 7000
                Half tank lamination 100
                Chain maintenance consumables- 340 something

So the riding cost isn't that much, it's the bigger purchases that pulled the cost. The bike still turns heads with appreciating eyes, half the public doesn't even know which bike this is let alone being an old model launched in 2015. The cruising is comfortable whether at 80 or 125, speed hits 130 before coming to redline on tachometer at 9.7 k rpm, it does go beyond that easily. Perimeter frame handles very well, recently had a rear tyre slip on a petrol pump with those grey n red bricks but was back in control within a split second without any hula dance lol. So has it been worth the money? I'd say yes. Look, performance, comfort, mileage all spots check in just fine.

The post was long but this is what the journey has been for me. However if you're planning to purchase yours too, give it a while, there's an announcement by Bajaj MD about something new coming to the Pulsar line up in June.

                Happy riding buddy.
Fantastic. Thank you for the elaborate details. You answered many of my questions without me asking them. Was always keen on getting the RS but new launches and upgrades kept delaying matters. It is indeed a complete package, fully faired, projectors, FI, abs, etc. What more can one ask for at that price point. I think it's time for me to book one ASAP, don't wanna wait for any other launches. Thank you once again.
                Peace !

You're quite welcome, my friend. If you don't wanna wait for June, go ahead and get your machine home.

Oh that clarifies a lot of questions. So first thing first, you're not eligible for a warranty from Bajaj being the second owner. Change your engine oil. As per service book they change engine oil at around 750 KM's and only do a top up on second service. Get that changed first and run a few kms. Let's see how that works out for you.

Currently I am facing a problem in m RS. As I accelerate slowly from idle rpm (1.5k) very gently, there is a power loss and in spite of increased rpm there is a decrease in rpm. Why is that happening so? Is the throttle body needs cleaning or any other issue?

I'm afraid that is not something I'm aware of. That engine has its power concentrated in the higher RPM range but what you're talking about almost sounds like an issue. Check with service centre?

Check your air filter and spark plugs. Get your throttle body cleaned. Could be because of bad fuel too. Get them checked.

Check engine light is blinking 1long and 1short. before the check engine light comes out. I was having an erratic idle going up and down the range of 1.5k-2k rpm.
some told me to have my injector cleaned. so i did. but the same problem remains but I felt something wrong while on my way home. when releasing the throttle it somehow stays a little long on the 3k rpm before going down to 1.8k rpm. I have been able to use the bike for a week more then this happened. My rs200 was parked and I was about to go home. so I turn the key on and start the engine... there's this popping sound from the muffler and the engine died. When I tried to start it up again it would go wild and it revs high up to the limit. after a few minutes I tried it again. This time the engine would run but felt like it would die if I wouldnt hold the throttle to a certain point. After arriving home I shut the engine off and start it again. That is when the Check engine light comes out.

I called up a mechanic and have it checked. He found out that the manifold was not installed properly. so he fixed the manifold and locked it in place. after that he tried to start the engine and it did start with the CEL still there and the erratic idle. He checked the air filter and it was full of black greasy particles. We have no air filter at that time so he said to try it without any air filter installed. The problem is theres another check engine light came out. this time its a new sequence 4long and 9short.

Is the only problem is the air filter? if I'll be able to install a new air filter would the check engine lights be resolved? I really need help badly.

Sorry for the long post. Thank you in advance brothers.
Error code: 11 = Check idle air control system circuit
Error code:49 = Check idle air control system circuit
Both errors are pointing to look into the air intake system. Something is wrong there. Do not run the engine without the air filter especially for bikes with fuel injection system.

My self start is completely dead. I turn in the key and then press the self start button. There is no response. Also, when you turn in the key there is a sound during the system check. I cannot hear that sound too. The headlamp, horn, indicator is working fine.

Could anyone please give some pointers to what excatly could be the problem?
