I have done 600 kms. Scoot is getting smoother day by day. Personally i dont like scoots of highways... Unless its a geared scoot.

Thats great to hear. I dint even 50 km on odo planning to take once on highway for a small distance of 60-100 kms to check the overall aero dynamics and mileage. I only prefer four wheelers on highways.

Don't forget 2 things whilst on the highway:
        1. To keep varying the throttle in a "uniform manner".
        2. Keep the speeds up to 55ish or so at max for the first few hundred kms.
        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

Even I was thinking about it initially. But after u get accustomed to it, you will actually love doing highways, for around 100km rides. I have done Puri and Kendrapada numerous times and even once to Bhandari Pokhari, while my brother has done 250km in a day for consecutive 2 days. These scoots can maintain 70 kph for 100kms without issue. Only problem is, panic braking from above 60kmph(add to that- my shitty TVS tires)

I believe in using the vehicle for its intended purpose. If I have to go on the highway i will use one of my bigger bikes. For me an autoscoot is for city usage and i use it as such. I am not sayig that a scoot cant be used on highway. Me n my brother have made multiple 180km round trips on his ray. But it feels uncomfortble.

If i have to rate the quality of scooter in india . Aprilia , Vespa , TVS,Hero, Mahindra , Honda

About speed, if it has good tires, a good engine and built solid then taking it to 105 KMPH on highway is not meaningless.
Which model vespa do you own?

Re: Yamaha Fascino: Owner's Reviews and Experiences

I got the first service done today at 932kms. As such there were not any serious complaints. Just 2 issues, the scoot developing some harshness beyond 850kms and a bit of overheating after running in traffic for an hour or so. Both issues were taken care of after the oil change. The gear oil was changed as well.

Scoot is smooth as butter now. Got the front luggage hanger installed as well. Small tuning adjustments were made. Acceleration has improved a bit after service. Mileage before service was hovering between 57-62. Hopefully it wont go down too much now that I can go full throttle.

Total bill was 335rs including oils.

                        My Cyan Fascino: Initial Review

                        Scooter Model: Yamaha Fascino
                        Color: Cyan Blue
                        Cost: 65500/- on road.

Dealership Experience: Velocity Motors [VM], Kolkata: Their showroom is the newest one in Kolkata and nearest to my house. On my first visit, they only had one matte blue Fascino and quoted a waiting period of 20 days for Fascino and were pushing the RayZ. I called up other showroom and they said they can deliver in 2 weeks. So i decided to wait. Next day only i got a call from VM saying a Matte Red color is available. But i didnt like it that much. So they offered me the Cyan Blue and i accepted. Took delivery in 2 days. The salesman had promised that he will gift a helmet but on the day of delivery he said its not in stock and he will call up when its available. The salesman was polite but manipulative. Overall a neutral experience, they try to sell the one not in demand. Ill advice to have a "give me what i want else ill buy an Activa" attitude.

                        Initial Experience:
//I'm a newbie when it comes to riding and this is my first 2-wheeler, so excuse for any errors.//

                        PROS:
                        • The scooter is a head turner since its new and not seen on road. My fascino is probably the first one in district.
                        • Mileage seems to be good. Haven't calculated it yet, will do it this week.
                        • The scooter is light and easy to handle. But since the lights are fixed on the handle, it feels a bit heavy when cornering.
                        • The cubby hole is useful.
                        • Storage space is okayish. Was able to fit a half-face helmet and a file.
                        • Even though the low ground clearance, it rides over all bumpers easily at low speeds even with a pillion. This was my biggest worry.
                        • The brakes are precise.

                        CONS:
                        • The lights arent that powerful.
                        • The kicker is placed in a weird manner. Not sure if its the same in other scooters too. The scooter needs to be in center stand to start with kicker. Bibhu, can u confirm this?
                        • Odometer looks meh IMO.
                        • Initial acceleration is controlled and slow and no matter how much u throttle it accelerates slowly. This is actually a pro for a new rider like me.

Btw i met with a small accident with a rickshaw trying to cut a corner and the left rear mirror is loose now. The nuts are displaced. They will repair it in the first service right?

                          Congrats on the new buy.

Although I am yet to start the scoot with kick, i can say that most modern scoots have simillar kick levers. Not sure about the main stand thing. I will check and let you know. Personally I find the lights better than most scoots. Atleast than the ones i have seen. You will get adjusted to the handling. Dont worry. I also had the low acceleration up to 40 issue. They adjusted the tuning in service n now its brisk. Offcourse they will tighten the mirror man. Dont worry.

Congrats buddy, welcome to fascinating world..

                              - I have the same color sassy cyan. As this is for my sisters first scoot and she liked this color so much. Its surely a head turner. I got many strangers appreciating the color and looks. When they came to know its yamaha they simply says its very fast scoot [emoji3]

                              - Indeed its fast i love the mid range so much. It pulls the scoot from 30 - 60 very quickly. After that it takes time to reach 90. My scoot accelerates perfectly even slight twist have good response. I think your issue will get resolves with the tuning as Bibhu suggested.

                              - Am a over built (105kg) six footer even though it pulls like charm, only i have seen if riding with another well built pillion need to accelerate more thats norm for 110 cc.

                              - Its light but due to its longer wheel base and balanced weight distribution i say the best in scoots right now it loves takes the corners in good speeds and handles well.

                              - Under seat storage swallows my full face helmet facing towards the tail. And still it leaves some space. Which is good.

                              - The mileage am getting now is 50+ kmpl am riding this with sudden accelerations and decelerations varying as its now 700kms on odo. Am taking this daily to office 40kms mixed highway and city.

                              - The light throw is very good for me i like the high beam throw it covers wide and ling area perfectly.

                              - Don't worry about mirror. The LHS side have manufacturing defect with nuts n bolts so tell them it hot loose on its own they will replace it.

                              Happy and safe riding...

                                Cobalt Fascino: Initial Review

                                Scooter Model: Yamaha Fascino
                                Color: Cool Cobalt
                                Cost: 63800/- on road.

                                Dealership Experience:
Kamla Yamaha, Pune: My closest dealer - Went there on the 31st last month, they were helpful and managed to sell me on the Fascino. (I was looking at the Ray Z up until that point) That said they could get it to me by the 15th, so I made the payment and waited. Unfortunately on the 10th they called and said they were unable to get me my preferred color and could only offer White or Red. At that point I was really looking forward to the Blue so I declined and they (to their credit) gave me a full refund within two working days.

Monarch Yamaha, Pune: I just started college this month so I was a bit strapped for time, so my mother made the visit on my behalf and made the booking. I could only really get out on Saturdays due to school. I had to make another 2 trips: on the 18th to provide all necessary paperwork and the 25th to make the payment.

This is my first scooter so I haven't really got any point of reference for sales service but all around it was fairly straight-forward. Just got delivered today. Haven't really had a chance to really take it out (new to biking and all) but I did a few rounds on the smaller streets near my house. Gotta get myself a helmet and then i'll be getting it out on some main roads.

Any tips for the helmet choice, guys?
