Coming to the scoot itself, it is doing wonderful. The performance of the scoot did suffer badly with yamalube engine and gear oil, but once they were replaced, I have not had any issues whatsoever since. It pulls effortlessly, can go all day without fade, gives an average between 55-60 kmpl if ridden sane. What more could you ask for?

Sad to hear this about Grand Yamaha. 6 years back, during my Gladiator days, they were the best ASS when compared to any other brand/showroom in Cuttack. They were so good with the works, I used to trust them blindly. Now, change in management might have had such effects.

And I am really jealous about your 55-60 kmpl part. In last 14K kms, the Max I ever extracted from my Jupiter is 52-53 kmpl, that to riding under 50 kmph.

Even a year back when my brother bought the ray from them they used to behave. I guess the increased sales got to their head.

Just to clarify, for the sake of anyone reading, I meant KariZMA bar end weights, not KariZMR's!

            UPDATE....

4th service done. The 3rd service got lapsed due to lack of reminder. I suppose this would be my last visit to yamaha svc.

Anyways, i canged the oils outside, elf 90 grade gear oil and mico 20w50 engine oil were put in. Two issues plagued the scooter. Those were knocking at higher speeds and noisy forks. Both rectified. Knocking was arrested by chaning the plug to a platinum one. Ngk cr6hgp to be exact. The triple clamp was tightened for the fork noise.

Now the scooter is smoother than mia khalifa's bottom..

                Yamaha Fascino- Planning Roadtrips

                Hello all

I am from Bangalore, Karnataka did many road trips as a pillion rider on friends' bikes. For the first time got my own vehicle ie Yamaha Fascino Scooty.
I use it for my daily travel to office which is approximately 17Kms from my house. Already did a ride to Indian Paratha Company, a nice paratha joint in Devanahalli 10Mins from BIAL and 35Kms from my house. Now I am planning for a bigger trip in one of the weekends. I want to do a Bangalore to Mysore trip in my scooty. I wont come back on the same day. Will stay there for at least 1 day and then come back. My scooty is 4 months old and Kilometre reading is for 4000 Kms. completed 2 scheduled servicing by the company.

                I need your suggestions guys.

Topic Approved, and moved to "Touring- Planning & Itinerary" Section.

All I can say is, go for it. Rest, the Bengaluru guys might be able to help you.
I've lived in Bengaluru, and have seen Mysore, but this was long ago.

                    Hello anirban.biswas,

Welcome to Xbhp, wish you many more miles with the Fascino
To answer your question, yes a scooter like fascino can very well do it, provided you take small rests in between.

@ mods, can we shift this post to the fascino ownership thread for a better reply?
This post is more on the lines of the reliability of the scooty than the route queries.

                    Thanks

I am also craving for a day long ride. Most probably, I will be doing it with my dad's or wife's Mahindra Rodeo.

As advised, religiously take frequent small rests to cool down engine during your trip.

[Need experts' advise] Also don't do constant top speed. Maintaining 80% of top speed should be good.

                        Thread moved as requested!

To the OP : yes, Bangalore - Mysore is easily doable. Start early morning to avaoid the mad rush. Take frequent breaks at Maddur, Channapatna, Srirangapatna etc, for about 20-30 min each time.
Also, kindly replace the stock headlamp bulb with an Osram Silverstar 35w H4 type, it will be a boon.

                        All the best!

Osram silverstar gives significantly better lighting.

I personally do not recomend touring or going longer distances on a small capacity auto scoot. The engine heat is one major factor in that. Also, no overtaking power, insufficient brakes, small wheels and crosswind instability make them very bad for highways.

Engine heat is a not an issue. I've done 400km round trips a few times on my Dio (with non stop riding the first 2hrs/140km). The engine cooling is handled well by the continuous flow of air (Against the stop go city traffic) and the fan which is present in these scooters. Did you know that even the clutch side has a 'fan'.. if you look at the variator plate it will have fins.. these fins act as a fan when it spins and the clutch side is not fully sealed.. it will have an opening, these aid in heat removal.
Am pretty sure most scoots have a similar design.
If one is comfortable riding at 60kmph all day and in no hurry, then a scoot is a good tool to embark on such rides. Matter of fact, I found that riding my Dio better than riding a Splendor on the highway.. be it comfort, smoothness and easy luggage carrying capacity.

I am aware of the scoot designs and yes you are right, most scoots share a simillar design including the fascino. I did a round trip to puri from cuttack on my brother's ray which shares the same engine as the fascino. My observations are based on that.
