Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Don't lose hope people.
New R3 with ABS and better tires coming for sure. But don't expect it to be priced at par with 300cc singles. It will be in most probability, priced at or more 3.5L ex-showroom Delhi.Yamaha YZF R15 V 2.0 (Oct, 2012 - Present)
Yamaha YZF R3 (Sep, 2015 - Present)

Its still a CKD unitOriginally posted by Deathwing View PostNow the r3 seems a fantastic option, with the metz and the abs, I think sales should increase.
If they opted to locally assemble the R3 the price would had been much lower.
There is stiff competition from some 300 cc singles which provide much more value at a much lower price

Mate CKD means Completely Knocked Down unit, that means it is locally assembled motorcycle in india from the beginning since 2015.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostIts still a CKD unit

Still a better option than the ninja 300 and benelli 302R, I know the 400 is higher on power that would be a good lakh and half more, obviously doesn't compare with the 390s with the tech n power output they provide, still a very enjoyable bike in my eyes.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostIts still a CKD unit

I know what CKD means
I meant to say if they completely manufactured the bike in India they could have priced it more aggressively.

Benelli 302 is nowhere in the competition.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostStill a better option than the ninja 300 and benelli 302R, I know the 400 is higher on power that would be a good lakh and half more, obviously doesn't compare with the 390s with the tech n power output they provide, still a very enjoyable bike in my eyes.
Kawasaki 400 will be a CBU and will be priced much higher
The closest I can compare the r3 is with the Apache rr310 which is a better VFM overall. Though the engines of both the bikes cannot be compared directly as the R3 is leaps and bounds ahead with the super refined and more powerful parallel twin.
If we could get it at 3.48 lacs on road then it would had been a much better deal

If you think about it, the price will be similar to 2015 pricing, which is good with the abs, Leds and metz.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostI know what CKD means

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ya that's true but in 2015 there was just the ninja and dukes in the competition but now there are quite a few bikes in the 300 cc category priced much lower and a few 300s coming by the end of 2018 so yamaha should have priced a bit more aggressivelyOriginally posted by Deathwing View PostIf you think about it, the price will be similar to 2015 pricing, which is good with the abs, Leds and metz.
Another thing which I did not like is the r3 still gets halogen bulbs in 2018 where as some scooters and 150 cc bikes have been launched with led headlamps in the auto expo.
