If your shocker eye bushing have cracked, the bottom rear shock linkage bearing too might have rusted or ran out of grease. Get those bottom linkages removed and the bearings greased, should save you from the dreaded creaking noise and/or bust linkage bearings in the future. Good luck.

    • Hello Guys!! Need some expert advice and suggestions. My journey with the Himalayan has been worry free till now with the mechanical stuffs mostly except the cone set bearing which needs to be changed every 6months and the stupid tube tyres 😂 I have developed a paranoia that I might get stuck on a solo ride if I get a puncher. As I really had a hard time finding the 21inch tube in the city (Mumbai) RSA guys told that we don't have stock of tube max we can do is tow your bike to nearest ASC. So i looked for it near by and fixing the new tube took nearly 4-6hrs in total which on a ride i cannot even think of going through. So I decided to sell of my Himalayan and got quotes around 1.80L for a 2020 in brand new condition(which I feel is too low as I know how good i have maintained it) as I hardly used it and parked under cover most of the times.
Think of replacing Himalayan with D400/ADV390 but I couldn't feel the same smile as 24HP machine puts on my face soo after doing a lot of research and asking around i began to look for performance upgrades and mods that can help me with Himi 2.0
As I still feel the connection with my Himalayan that it wants to stay with me and even i feel i got to give it one more chance as we hardly got a time to bond properly.
I have been looking at option to make tyres tubeless the entire process will cost around 30k( alluminium rims + tubeless kit) and i am ok with the price if I can go worry free on solo rides without worrying about a puncher ever single minute.
I request you guys to suggest me if the tubeless conversion is a success in real or its just guys baiting riders like me for some quick money.
Also I would love to give it little performance boost if the tubeless conversion is success. I don't really want to spend too much and alter any mechanical stuffs in the engine. I have narrowed down few stuffs based on my research but I don't know how much of a bang can i get for such mods.

      1) RK performance sprocket and chain kit
      2) iridium spark plug
      3) Red rooster exhaust and Air filter

I am open to suggestions and guidance and would really love to hear about your experience on the above mods as well the tubeless conversion.

Would only suggest the IR spark plug change.

          • 28000kms up.
New Ceat Hygrip on front -it's the third tyre .
Rear MRF Meteor is also at the end of it's life -almost down to the tread markers -maybe 1000kms more at the max before needing a replacement -just hope no punctures till then .
            Happy motoring all.

            • EDIT: I have added links to Booster Plug and Zedling Suspension - blogs I have written about these.

I just realized that I had not posted anything on xbhp in a while. Here are some things note worthy I have done on my Himalayan.

              KMs Done: 53000km and counting.
              Model: 2019 March BS4 White

              Mods:Issues:
              • The only manufacturing issue was the Magneto Coil. It got burnt out twice for me. Once at 20K km and once around 45K km, both times replaced in warranty.
              • The fuel pump gave up at around 40K kms, but it was due to water in the tank, mainly due to long standing ethanol mixed fuel. Replaced in warranty.
              • Rear Hub Replaced at 50200km as the bearing slot had become loose due to wear and tear.
              • Rest only routine maintenance and I had taken the extended warranty while purchasing the bike.

Unfortunately, no, FuelX available in India works in a similar fashion but uses the O2 sensor inputs instead of AIT sensor.
You still get it on their US website, best if someone can carry it for you from there.
