As Honda & Yamaha are good with engine quality & refinement, we compare it with our Indian (Hero, Bajaj & TVS) manufacturers and tend to chose Japanese over Indian.

But now as Bajaj has made this V15 an inevitable choice while selecting a commuter with it's Patriotic and styling campaign i can't get over it.
Hence kindly clear the doubts and questions that i have found out in the internet, as you guys will have clocked few thousands KMs and rode over different roads by now am sure your answers and long term reviews will help me a lot.

    1. Engine over heating issue
    2. Gear shift is very harsh
    3. Mileage is not even close to 50 KMPL

Do post your long term reviews to clear doubts and help people like me.
    Thank you.
    Hi Umashankar,
The INS tag is just a marketing policy. For being patriot you no need to buy this machine.
I have completed 5000+ kms till now. Max speed achieved 110kmph and getting mileage of 50-55kmpl avg. After getting full tank filled up no need to worry for next 600kms.
This one being a torque machine, you need not to pull down gear near bumps or when to slow down for a little. Must go for MRF tyres as new version have MRF option.

Riding just 2500+ kms with longest ride of 250 km with average speed in highway 70-80 km and max 105 km (till now) I am getting actually unbelievable milage of 570-600 km for reserve to reserve (11.5+ ltr).
I have tunned the engine myself and for the vibration issue I have changed the Handlebar. Now I feel a very less amount of vibration when I reach 100 km, so I don't pull it after 100-105 kmph. But sometimes while slowing down from 80 to 60-50 vibration hits until speed is like 40, so now sometimes it vibrates between 50-60 only when slowing down, for acceleration there is no vibration.
I also wanted to have classic round shaped headlights and the speedo+taco meter type instrument box, but the mechanic insisted me to do it after sometime, so I just only change the halogen and fit double angel eye projector and two axillary led projector at led guard
      It looks Awesome.

            Experience Update:

            Hi Guys,
I am nearing 7K in 4+ months, 2nd service long done and I am all enjoying my cruise bike.
Some days back I got Nitrogen in the tyres courtesy of my Bro. Dint feel much of a difference but hope it keeps the tyres cool atleast as my one way to office is 45 Kms.
I usually ride at a constant 45-50 Kmph and it gives me 58 Kmpl Approx. Riding at 60 Kmph decreases it to 50 Kmpl.
Eagerly waiting for the 3rd service at 10K to see more improvements.

Everyone in my family loves my machine. One of the complaint from Dad is that the pillion seat is small & you tend to fall backwards easily.
Friends, please post your tips & reviews so that we can get a sustained optimum performance.

Re: Bajaj V15: Owners Reviews and Experiences

                Hi Guys,

I bought the V15 about 6 months back. Used to own a Hero Impulse for a couple of years. It was a fun bike to own, but was a bit to tall for me. I am 5'6".
Also as I live close to the sea, the bike got corroded and a fresh coat of paint still could not liven it up to my expectations. So sold it off.
Tried the Enfield Himalayan, Mahindra Mojo, Honda Hornet, Bajaj Avenger street etc and finally zeroed on the V15. This bike feels much solid, doesn't feel like a toy and has solid road presence for a 150cc bike. The terto, low slung looks and my sedate riding style go well together. Wish it had a 220 or 250 cc engine.
The gear shift was notchy at first, but after putting in about a 1000kms and first service, it has become much more smooth. Always hated the meter and headlight console and felt that it does not go at all with the retro looks of the bike. Now, getting it converted to round headlamp and twin binacle meters.
Will post pictures in a few days after he conversion.
The problem I am facing is, the engine idling doesn't seem to stay stable. If if tune it high so that the engine doesn't miss fire, then when the bike comes to neutral at any signal, the engine idling goes very high and need to shut of the engine when stationary. If I set it low so the engine speed doesn't go to high when stationary, the bike tends to misfire while riding. Anybody has face similar problem..? Any solutions, suggestions..?

Love to ride it between 40 to 60kms/hr. After that the vibrations set in and then the pleasure is gone.

                    Hi Friends..
I have received back my V15 after cosmetic modifications. I am very pleased with the results. The engine knocking, overheating and engine speed variation problems, that I was facing, have got resolved, after retuning of carburetor.

We removed and junked the factory fitted headlight and meter assembly. This monolith weighed nearly 2kgs. The handle feels lighter, steering feels more nimble and vibrations while riding have been reduced.

Here are some photos for your evaluation, opinions and comments...

Front close up. We have used a Bajaj Avenger Headlight unit and Old Bajaj Pulsar 150 classic's meters..

I was having hard time imagining how it'll look with round headlamp. Thanks for sharing the pic. Bike looks complete badass with this cosmetic changes. Looking forward to do the same. Although I think slightly bigger headlamp would have given more muscular look to bike. Still appreciate your work.
How much did it cost for all these ?

Hey Guyz, an update on mileage here.

I commute daily to work on my machine 45 kms one way. A mileage enthusiast which makes me ride between 45-50 kmph. (Yeah, I got a lot of patience )
I have tried checking the mileage of my bike after the 3rd servicing last week.
Petrol is 59.84 here in Goa. I calculated the mileage by Reserve-to-Reserve method as directed by the Bajaj mechanic.
The readings I got for 100 Rs Petrol evreyday were 115, 115, 103 and 120 kms. (103 when I was getting late to work and I took it to a constant 60 kmph)
This means that my bike is giving me an average of 70 kmpl approx.

Anyone else find such statistics or is there any mistake in my mileage calculation???

Will this modes void the warranty?
The good thing is you are using Bajaj Accessories itself.
