Hero maestro first gen major mileage issues?
Hello,
So my bikes clocked 19000km and I recently got it serviced at the same.
I've driven about 300-400 km
Usually I use to get an average of 40-45 easily, I could track it cause of the trip meter I have on my scooty, which would go on about till 210-230 km after a fuel refill.
Now my scootys blinking at 135km I feel max it's gonna go till 170 and will ask for a refill.
Recently I got my carb cleaned and my engine oil changed.
I always do it from my local mechanic. Now the twist is, this time I wasn't present when he was servicing, but he knows us for like 10 years.
Could he have cheated me with the engine oil?
What else can it be?
I'll go check what he says but I need help from the experts
Last service we did change gear oil as well.
Please help.
Thank you.

He must have played with carb settings. Get the carburetor re tuned from authorized svc and the fe should be fine again.Originally posted by Hollowback View PostHello,

Engine oil you can easily check with that local mechanic . Tell him to drain it in front of you. Also get the airfiter cleaned up.

Re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience
I am using edge from last 4 months. Mileage is less due to bangalore traffic. I have another issue I feel like posting here. I feel like vehicles brake is not good enough. Vehicle is not stopping suddenly when i apply sudden break . Also when vehicle is not moving, i applied break fully and gave accelerator, vehicle started to move easily. Anyone else feels the same way I feel? Any suggestions?

Get the break pads cleaned up at ur nearest service station it would be fine.Originally posted by Subin2012 View PostI am using edge from last 4 months. Mileage is less due to bangalore traffic. And also get the carburetor tuned up for mileage. You ask them to do a kmpl test to confirm the Fuel efficiency.

Re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience
Yes every service center have that equipment a bottle type container with fuel tap and a tube. They put 100 ml petrol in it and connect the carburetor directly to it and run the vehicle on that 100ml fuel to test the mileage.Originally posted by Subin2012 View PostHow do they test kmpl? Re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience
I have seen the pack at svc it comes in 900ml pack. And as a owner its our responsibility to ask for the remaining oil.Originally posted by curse View PostI have mentioned it in my previous post also Maestro Edge requires only 700ml oil and will cost approx 206 Rs MRP.Please read your owners manual.
As that could be used for top up after some time.
Ps. I bought New maestro edge on 15th oct 2017.

Re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience
I am getting 43kmpl done around 380kms bought on 15th October. Hopefully would increase after service or i would play with carburetor setting.Originally posted by Anuj Agarwal View PostGuys I'm planning on buying this one, what will be the minimum mileage I can expect overall in city traffic... I'll be buying and riding maestro edge in Bangalore
All the owners inputs will help me a lot in deciding this over TVS JUPITER
