I don't know if there is another such thread or no...but if there is, just add this one to it!
Hola petrolhead.... I am revminister and today I will tell you about my personal experience of owning the hero maestro edge.
I have been owning the maestro edge for last 5 months and have covered almost 2000km on it.
Starting with the design, it is quite sharp, but bulky at the same time. The sideways mounted indicators look quite stunning and the sharply cut headlamp looks quite aggressive. The tail section with all the graphics looks stunning. Overall the bike is very very beautiful.
Now every bike has its own pros and cons.....and the maestro too has them. So going ahead with the pros.....One major positive factor of the maestro is the space. The bike has plenty of space in the boot. More than Enough to accommodate a full size helmet. It also has 2 hooks which are very smartly and conveniently placed.
Another major pro of this scooter is the instrument cluster. The semi digital display is very informative and gives the bike a sporty edge. The analog meter tells you the speed whereas the digital part carries the fuel guage, odometer, trip meter, service light etc. It also gets a stand alarm which is a cool and useful addon. The switch gear on the maestro is made up of good quality plastic and gives you a very good feedback when pressed.
Some other cool features like a usb charger in the boot and a bigger seat add to the utility of the bike. The external petrol lid proves to be very useful especially when you have a senior citizen as your pillion.
Another positive part of the maestro is the engine. It has a lot of low end grunt which helps you zip through the traffic quite easily.
But roses always come with thorns....and this brings me to the cons. Even though the maestro has a lot of low end torque...you really can't use it to get out of the traffic because of its bulky design...... I know it gives you more space and stability at higher speeds....but we hardly do have any roads to reach those higher speeds. And if you personally ask me to choose between traffic and space... I'll select zipping through the traffic. Who wants to be stuck in traffic especially when other bikers are going past you.
Now comes the comfort part....even though the seat is big....its slightly on the harder side which might induce a pain in your ass during long commutes. And talking of pain the suspension isn't the best as compared to activa or any other scotter. Also the tires lack grip and fail to inspire confidence in the wet.
Comming to the final con of the maestro...that is the reliability....i don't know if it's just my bike or what...but the spark plug needed a replacement ment at just 1500km and the speedometer was busted at 1600km. You might wanna consider this before investing in the scooter.
Talking of the mileage...the meastro gives out around 50km per liter which is good enough.
Maestro edge is available at a price of 67k onroad mumbai and in my opinion is worth the money.
So that was my short and simple ownershop experience of the hero maestro edge.
