re: Hero Maestro Edge Ownership review and experience

    Update:

1st Service done today -Odometer shown 273 kms
    Service cost Rs.359

They have not able to do the water service because some problem with the pump hence requested me to bring the scooter another day, at my convenience.

I have notified some minor complaints, like Handle vibration at low speed, noise from rear at low speed which were attended and the sound from rear side has gone. Handle vibration is still there but not like before. Service guy says this vibration will go once the scooter run more mileage.

They have also fitted the ladies grip which they missed out on delivery(this can be also used as extra parcel hook )

Have collected the Hero GoodLife membership card alongwith Hero GoodLife Program declaration and certificate of Insurance.

The scooter now runs better and feel some more smoothness than earlier.

Over all a good and satisfied Service experience.

        Hello Ravi, Welcome to xBhp.

Most of the Scooters comes with fibre body (except Tvs Wego and Hero Duet -both are full metal body built) but Maestro Edge quality seems very good. The finish levels are very good and looks great. If you want full metal body then try for Hero Duet (both Duet and Edge engines are same).!

Hi, I have visited Yamaha Showroom today for test drive of Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR. its a good scooter with loads of features especially like disc brakes and kick start. The salesmen told me that it will give approx. 45-50 kmpl. My daily run is about 40 kms (20 highway n 20 city) and m more concerned about the mileage.

Now m confused more in between Ray ZR and Maestro Edge. Please help sir. I want to purchase on Sunday.

I have not test driven Yamaha scooters yet hence cannot advise personal experience about the performance of the Ray Z.

Before buying a scooter, you have to decide what are your preferences - features with performance or no worry about features but only consider performance ...

I have driven TVS Wego and Maestro Edge and definitely I like Edge more than Wego

Between Ray Z and Edge, the major difference i am seeing are:

1- Ray z has only 10 inch wheels whereas Edge has 12'' wheel in front and 10'' in back. Also Edge comes with alloy wheels and I think Ray z comes with steel wheels?
2- Ray Z do not have external fuel filling (if you dont mind this convenient feature, then ok)
3- Ground clearance: Website says Ray z has 128mm whereas Edge has 155mm.
4- Edge, I think will give 50+ mileage, may be more once the engine become smooth..

I dont have much information about Ray z. However, check in your area which dealer is good as far as A.S.S is concerned. Good Service station is very important.

You said, you have test driven Ray z., now try Edge also and then make a decision.!

Dear Sir thank you so much for your valuable advise. I have also test driven the Maestro Edge and there is no doubt about it that the Maestro runs very smooth with nice pickup.

Yes you are right with your points. RayZR have only 10" wheel and doesnt have external fuel filling feature but following differences making me more confused:

                1. On road price in Delhi: RayZR 64000/- & Maestro 59666/-
                2. Ray ZR comes with Alloy Wheels, Disc Brakes & Kick Start and whereas in Maestro disc brake and kick start is not available.
                3. Maestro has external fuel filling feature and Ray ZR does not. Maestro also comes with 12" front Wheel.

                Sooooooooooooo Muchhhhhhhhhhhh Confusionnnnnnnnnn..........

                  1. The OTR price for Ray Z may be more because of the Disc brake feature?

                  2. Maestro Edge also have Kick Start feature. I did kick start few times however the kick starter pedal is placed bit inside and the ladies foot rest is projected outside which preventing easy approach of the kick starter pedal. But definitely Kick start is available on Edge. And Edge also comes with Alloy wheels.

                  3. As of now only TVS Jupiter, Wego, Hero Duet, Maestro Edge comes with External fuel filling feature.! (Maestro Edge is the only Scooter which comes with Flap cover on fuel tank)

Maestro Edge is warranted for a period of 5 years or 50000 kms, whichever is earlier, from the date of purchase.

It is mandatory to avail all free services from the Hero MotoCorp's authorized Workshop only, as per the recommended schedule, to be eligible for warranty benefits. So, basically what they says is that if we miss one free Service, then we will lose the warranty benefits..

The Scooter comes with Maintenance Free Battery with Warranty for 18 months or 20000 kms or 21 months from the date of charging (whichever is earlier). 3 months idle period is allowed from the date of charging to date of sale on vehicle.

The Scooter comes with 6 Free Services covering 18 months or 15000-15500 kms whichever is earlier.
Yes, you will lose the warranty if you do not get your bike serviced at their SVC for the duration of 5 years. Basically the idea is, if you give your bike regularly to their SVC they will have a complete digital record of your bikes history. So if a problem comes up, they can immediately pull up your most recent service and check it for any previous issues.

But ofc you can always choose to forfeit the warranty after your free services if you trust your local mechanic a lot more.

As far as fuel mileage is concerned, thats a bit odd. Try performing the Fulltank to fulltank method.

Also be careful on how you ride. Follow the manual properly since you are still in the break-in period. The first 500kms are very crucial followed by the next 1000kms.

Rainy season here ( Continuous rain last 3/4 days) hence not using the scooter. Only 60/70 kms run after the 1st service. The performance is good so far and good experience with the Service station.

One of my relative bought Edge (after seeing mine) and he already clocked 600kms so far. He is getting around 50kmpl which, according to me, very good because most of the run covers city riding.
