Default New Generation Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 ownership review

Hi! Exbhpian I am Pratik Dutta (member of- THE LORDS) from west Bengal , IIT Kharagpur . As I dont have my account in xbhp so I am using my friend come brothers account to post the owners reviews of Pulsar As150.NAME ID SANKHA SRN. I am pretty much new to these bikes and modify stuff. Earlier I was using my brothers Bajaj discover 125. It was a good bike but I was seriously in need of my own bike. I was pretty much clear about what to buy but had a little confusion between TVS Apache RTR180 and BAJAJ Pulsar AS150. I went through a lot of reviews and owners experiences in internet and found that Apache Rtr was now of old school stuff. People wanted to see something new and classy. So on I got my BAJAJ Pulsar AS150 on 25.09.15 from AMIT BAJAJ SHOWROOM, KHARAGPUR. The on road price of the bike at that time was 91,380 and I selected the passion red color because it was my personal favorite. When I was taking my first test ride on my bike I didnt find a bit of acceleration in it. It didnt seem like that it was a bike of 4stroke , single cylinder with engine displacement of 149.5cc and have a net power of 17ps at 9500 RPM and net torque 13Nm at 7000rpm. Truly speaking I am not good at racing and so I still got that bike because of its killing style and muscular look. I did all the paper works and was on my way home. People were staring at me and some of them asked about what bike it is and what about the price , the also complimented the style and look of the bike. From the very day I was riding by bike around a good rpm of 4000 and 5000 till 1000km on the odo. Before my registration I rode my bike for around 500km and after that I had my first servicing at 27.10.15 when my odo was showing me a running distance of 606km in it but in real it was about 500(before registration)+600(after registration)so total of 1100km. I got my engine oil changed the recommended engine oil is BAJAJ DTS-I 10000 and requires 1.2 liters which was of price RS.550 and got my oil filter changed. I asked the servicing guy to clean the air filter but he said that cleaning is not possible as I have to change it in the 2nd servicing. I didnt get my chain lubed from the service center because I wanted to do it in my way. I came home and from here the fun begins. I found a rapid acceleration in my bike. The bike was smooth about was bit tight and rough in the chain are. So next day I got my chain lubed by myself and trust me I bet that there is no bike as smooth as Pulsar As150. It gives a soothing exhaust sound like ssssssss. aNd when I go above 6000 RPM the sound changes to much like any sports bike. Till now I did a top speed test once only but as I said that I am not good with the racing and all I got my speed lock at 125km/h before my first servicing. But I also saw a video in youtube of a top speed of 131km/h. the company says a top speed of 135km/h is expected. So looking forward to cross 130km/h line.
    Positive side-
    Very smooth bike
Getting a mileage of 48+ in city
    Good between 0-60
Good low and high end torque
    Headlights r clear and clean
Most important I didnt have any big problem or any issue with my bike till now.
Engine heats and cools rapidly in no time.
    Mileage of 48+ in city
    Negative side-
Rear disc brake should have been given as ull need it to take quick and sharp turn

Congratulations on the purchase. Additionally, please create an account of your own on the forum. We would like to hear from you both and it would be easier for the both of you to actively and distinctly participate in discussions here.

P.S - I hope the pic without helmets is just for a pose and you guys wear helmets otherwise!
P.P.S - How come your ODO showed 600 km when you actually covered 1100 km?

1.headlights are beyond expectations, no bikes in 150cc can dare to compete.. not even r15..
    2. pillion comfort is ohk... untill and unless you're riding for hours..
    3. till now long rides.. but surely ill go after my run in period is over...

Yes, projectors are awesome! R15 despite having 2 bulbs has very poor lighting.
