        Just a notice.

I am posting this because I'm trying to find people in Chennai who can actually ride during weekends for breakfast and recreation, say around 200 km radius around Chennai to start with. I own a gixxer.

My group of friends had to shift to other cities and I am in search of people who can form a group. I'm slowly recovering from a couple of ailments and I had a huge gap in between because of the same. I'll be done with my college by the end of April and so I am planning to start my riding from May or June. I wish to form a neat and professional group which has members following traffic and safety guidelines. I'd be more than happy if you guys are experienced and/ or have done tours on your bikes.

It'd be a great way to bond, learn and explore!

I'm also planning on inviting some RE, FZ, Fazer, sf, hornet, pulsars and other bike riders through known contacts so that there is no scope to race or stray away from cruising - in short, bikes that can maintain comparable speeds and have similar equipment.

Interested riders please let me know through a personal message and we shall discuss it over phone soon.

        See you guys! [:

            • My New Bajaj Pulsar AS 150

              Hi xbhpians!

This is my first post in xbhp

I got my bike on 18th April 2016, and have clocked 250+kms till date. I got it from Amba Bajaj (Bohmanahalli, Bangalore) and point of concern was the fact that they gave me the bike with Eurogrip Tyres. I insisted them to change the tires to MRF Zappers. i doubut if bajaj has started giving Eurogrip to AS150 as well!

As my first service is pending, my bike turns off in 2nd gear when tried to move from Rest. Ideally this should not have been the situation. And also, my RPM in the start is 1. My friends told RPM is set low, that's the reason of the engine getting shut down. I was not sure of this, so i thought to get some expert reviews of it. and how can i get it fixed.

Also, The disc brakes at the front make slight noise in light braking, which i am really not sure why this thing happens. It makes sort of fiss sound, and i am pretty sure its because of some disc configuration fault. I tried moving the front tyre keeping the bike in main stand, it was not moving freely!

There is a slight rattle in the front fairing, which is sometimes annoying. Is that something normal and getting is fixed is Easy?

I would like to ask fellow xbhpians that what could be solution to the three problems which i have mentioned above. Are these thing to be worried about? Or this things can be easily addressed in the first service?

Hey guys! I own a pulsar As 150.
My projector headlight stopped working a few days back..i want to get the bulb replaced. The service advisor quoted a price of 300 rupees which seems a little expensive for a single bulb. Can anyone tell me how much these bulbs cost and also suggest other compatible bulbs in the market which offer better visibility.
                  Thank you.

                    • Pulsar As 150 inconsistent acceleration.

So the 17bhp sounded promising and I sold my 5 years old pulsar 150 which has excellent service record however with the As I'm kind of rather disappoint since from the beginning it is plugged with issues as per many As owners. Recently my unit are suffering from inconsistent acceleration. At 6-7rpm bike gives hiccups as if starving for fuel. I already tuned up the bike and checked the fuel is good quality. I wondering what is the carburetor model and what is the TSP in the carb. I looked everywhere for service manual but only can see owners manual are available. Right now bike has 2.5 turn (360) so please if that is not correct let me know. Also do you think changing carb will eliminate the issue? Another issue I see now there is a sensor type object connected with cylinder /engine cooling fin located right underneath the carb. I was also wondering what is the purpose of this object. Please any help is highly appreciated.

                        There could be many reasons
                        ...
                        1) Check if there's some water in the fuel tank.
                        2) Wrong Afr tuning- You mentioned 2.5 turns.. That's standard but still get it checked at the service centre.
                        3) Carb slide/diaphragm problem- I had this problem in my Pulsar 135LS..it was jerking like its out of fuel at 80kph.. Cleaning and refitting the carb slide/diaphragm helped. (This could well be your problem.. Check this out. Replace if faulty)
                        4) Check for vacuum leaks at intake manifolds.
                        5) Check if spark plugs faulty.. Clean them.
                        6) Clean your air filter.
                        7) Ensure fuel is reaching carburettor freely.
                        8) Remove your TPS and ride it... If the problem gets solved then you have a faulty TPS.
                        9) Check your electricals.

These are just basic things which will solve your problem 99%. If the problem still persists after all this, hit me up. I'll troubleshoot it more deeply for you.

I kind of narrowed down the problem is with the carburator actually ... Since many AS owners in BD faced similar problem and needed a carb replacement. However I will ride it with TPS open and also plug and air filter will be checked
I appreciate your help mate. Thanks

                            • Pulsar AS150 Mileage and Self Starting issues after second service

                              Hi All,

I have been an active visitor of this forum and got answers to most of my doubts. But, now I had to register myself to seek some help.

                              Information about my bike:
I am from Chennai and I have a Pulsar AS150 which is 10 months old now. I have clocked about 7300 KM. I have not installed anything extra to it. First service was done at 700KM and second service at 4800KM.

                              Issue:
The 2nd service was a disastor really. I have a couple of issues with my bike since then.

I used to get a mileage of around 45 KMPL. But after the 2nd service it has dropped to 32-33 KMPL. I reported it to the service centre where I gave my bike for servicing and they just did some carburettor tuning and asked me to check the mileage then. After a week's riding I didn't find any improvement. So, I went to the service centre again and the same thing was repeated for more than a month (at least 6-7 times). Then, I took my bike to another service centre and even they did some carburettor tuning. After that, for about 2 weeks, I got the mileage restored. Got close to 45 KMPL. But then again it dropped to the 30s. I took my bike to them one more time and the same thing happened. Mileage was restored initially and got dropped later.

My second problem is with the self starting.
My self start stopped working properly. When I press the self start button, engine doesn't start. The dashboard goes blank, time gets reset too (horn, indicator, lamp works well though). On reporting this issue, they have replaced the battery with a new one. After that I didn't have any problem with self starting. But now, about 2 months after replacing the battery, the same problem has started to occur.

I am going through so much of frustration just because of these problems. Please help me in sorting these issues out.

                              Additional info:
Both the 1st and 2nd service was done at Khivraj Bajaj, Thiruvallur. Later I went to Jai Bajaj, Tambaram.

                              Thanks,
                              Praveen
