Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
How do you all even calculate the fuel efficiency figures even with such a pathetic fuel meter? Since the day i've got the Continental GT i have been having a tough time guessing the quantity of fuel in the tank! I used to fill everytime the fuel bar starts blinking, but when i go to the fuel pump i get to know that there is already a decent quantity of fuel in the tank. Can anybody help me with the fuel bars?

City only fe stands at 22.5kms as per last calculation.
i also get similar figure, during one puncture occasion it gave 24 other than that it give 27.5 to 28 always.(speed 80-90 max-)
My 2014 yamaha Ray Z gives only 35, it gave 55 for first 3 month after that, it is 35 sometimes 38.

Whenever i do service i always tell the service people regarding this but the mileage is static 35. In comparison to that figure 650 twin is a gem,
I wonder how did RE managed to tune these machine

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Due to my short height I want to sell my costom seat from perfect seat maker for Interceptor 650 as it has more height from the original seat. It is hardly used for 1 weak only. If any one interested to buy at Navi Mumbai . Pm me.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Well in the city I am getting 22 to 24kpl the worst was 19kpl, on the highway if ridden very sanely the max i once get was 31.6kpl otherwise on highway it is 26 to 29.Originally posted by fertswitch View PostThose are indeed great fuel efficiency figures. Is this the norm? Ever since the running in period I don't seem to have broken past the 25 kmpl barrier.
Keep the airfilter clean chain slack in chk and chain lubed. Tyres should also be not under inflated.
On highway if i ridder around 80 to 100 the fe would be good it starts declining post 110kph.

On a serious note this is excellent fuel efficiency figures.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Yes these oem are from Barazil, but i measured the tread depth with a proper digital and analog tool of rear after 3000kms and it is 4.4mm . And i recently got front replaced with sports demon which is also Brazil and tread depth of new is 3.92mm.Originally posted by Thamps View PostHas anyone seen fortnines new video about interceptors OEM Pirelli vs aftermarket ones?is it true?do we get the German mades one here?

I measured it at my friend's tyre shop and he said these are good numbers , rear depth is close to 4.9 or 5.1 mm in new and front is slightly less than 4mm.
We measured different new tyres from Apollo and mrf to check and another lot of German made front sports demon which he has that time.Last edited by Ijs; 01-10-2020, 12:02 AM.

Yes, was about to share the same. Crazy indeed!Originally posted by Thamps View PostHas anyone seen fortnines new video about interceptors OEM Pirelli vs aftermarket ones?is it true?do we get the German mades one here?

First part of the video is about the discrepancy of the tyres used in our 650 Twins. Since they come from Brazil it's only 3mm depth it seems, but the ones manufactured in Germany seem to have 5mm depth.
This even I noticed when I got the new Metzeler Lasertec tyre for rear since stock became bald in 9500kms for me. Felt new Metzeler Lasertec had more thread depth than our stock ones.
One of the reasons why the stock tyres have worn out sooner..

Can't say anything about them.Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostWhy can’t the service center take care of it like you explained so clearly? For brake try cleaning the rotor/disc with soap water and pads with brake cleaner or moist cloth, don't see the need to use sandpaper on new pads but it cam be used a little scrub wont harm anything. Try these and see if it helps otherwise get the brake bleed done if u don't know how to do it.
Also u can adjust the brake paddle position as per your foot comfort.
Watch the video on brake cleaning , position adjustment is a different one on same channel.

And I bet the rattling if it is high then it is a from the seat. Just add some rubber to both seat pads and it would be fine, you can test this by keeping some cloth or rag under the seat and then lock it.
The mild thud from front and rear on broken roads is from the floating discs as the rotor is riveted to the spider and there is play(check by hand) and is normal. If it is from suspension then tightening it from bottom main bolt would resolve it .
But i bet the rattling is the naughty seat and many have this (me too). I have added rubber from battery belt on the seat pads and now it doesn't rattle.

Bought on 2nd Jan 2020, last stock of BS4. Wanted to share a very bad experience i faced at service center while i went to install the leg guard and sump guard. The bike was giving a kind of rattling noise from the rear suspension while riding slowly over bumps as if something was loose. So i asked the service guys to check for it when i went for the installation. I kept the bike there and went back after 4 hours. The bike was ready and i did just a small ride on the bumpy service center off road. The rattling noise was still there. The mechanic explained to me it is normal on this bike as there is supposedly a gap between the disc plate and the junction where it is attached. Did not make any sense to me but i thought of coming back to the issue when i come for first service.
So i went out with the bike and while riding back i realise the brakes do not have the same bite and attack anymore. It almost felt like drum brakes. I got extremely angry and disheartened. I called the service center back but no answer, nor any reply to my message to call back asap. Moreover they had washed the bike and cleaned it with some kind of dirty mobil laden cloth which made the bike feel like it was soaked in mobil.
I immediately wrote a mail to Enfield. Waiting for them to get back. But seriously, this is the standard of trained technicians for a flagship product which is supposed to be of international standard? I am thoroughly dissatisfied. I don’t think i can trust the service guys anymore. This wasn’t even first service and they f***ed up the brakes which did not even had any issue and made up a nonsensical explanation for the rattling noise.
I had fallen in love with the bike in these few days, it rode like a dream in every aspect. Especially the brakes were something to write home about. But after this experience it feels like i am riding a different bike.
Just for the records, i bought the bike from East India Agro, Kolkata and went to their own service center.

In the meanwhile I am trying to understand how the after-sales service in Bangalore.
Also I would like to know if I should wait for the BS6 update.
