Has anyone tried any different oil other than the liquid gun that is used in the RE service centres??

      Odometer now at 892kms

After a long time hit the ECR yesterday morning along with my friend who was pillion. Sunday morning you will see all kinds of supercars and superbikes on this stretch.

It was pure riding pleasure to say the least. It's an attention magnet at cafe parking lots. Even with pillion there is no lack in low down torque or highway cruising ability. Most of the times you(rider) never feel like someone is sitting behind you on the motorcycle. I was sitting pillion for half of the time while returning. The main issue for me is not much the angle of the rear foot fegs, I just had a slight pain in the thigh region. A slight step and a longer foam in the seat, bit more towards the grab rail will be much more comfortable for pillion is what I felt.

Bumped up the rear suspensions preload to full 5/5 previous day, it was an easy task too just rotate given C spanner in anti-clockwise direction. Handling improved significantly after this tweak. Planning to now keep it at 3/5 for my solo rides from now. At 0 preload there is not enough damping for my 94kg 6ft 1inch built.

Went to a park in Kalpakkam which my friend suggested. Was 82kms from Nolambur. Beautiful scenic spot.

I have conveyed this to my are Re ride champion and this will be referred to the asm. Charges for the gasket should not have been there in the service bill.
Guys do raise this issue to RE shoot a mail asap asking for why it has been charged.
The particular service center i am talking about are one in Gurugram and one in Delhi.
        Hi bro,

Just now got this response for my email.

This seems to be mandatory for first service from now.

Seems legit then, but here it is done foc and also we have few messed up engine timing with messed up firing order and engine stalling post the valve adjustment. Seems like the staff is not well trained to do this job. Here few service centers are doing it and few have no idea about it. And those who have done it haven't charged for the gasket or at few places they didn't even changed the gasket.
But yes the issue of messed up firing order , wired sound and engine stalling has been reported by few owners .

Oh that's really unfortunate that some of the service centres are incompetent in doing this job. Royal Enfield must definitely resolve this ASAP to retain the 'premium image' of Interceptor over other Enfields.

I have no qualms about the job they did for me, because I have ridden close to 400kms after the first service and it's only been positive. Engine has settled in nice and smoothly. Ever so slight heat build which was there in city traffic has drastically reduced.

Fantastic video. One of those rare videos with great sound recording quality which actually comes to capturing the real sound of the 650 twins. Feels good to know our 'Chennai' made product with good quality control satisfies an enthusiast like Jay Leno. Haha, remarkable to know that Jay Leno finds it light at parking speeds, when my uncle of same build and age finds it heavy as a elephant [emoji28][emoji23]

Exactly, I remember his time with the Tata nano the only redeemable feature he found out of the whole car was the A/C. The twins and ultimately RE are really making us proud!

way back when i was in 9th my grandfather brought me a horse during holidays from boarding school. horse being smarter did not let me ride first half of the day, but by grandfather taught me and my end of the day that horse was friend. Kept if for two more days and i still remember the thrill and excitement riding it galloping at full speed. second time my chandigarh college friend brought his uncle's RD350, it was thrilling to ride it. and third is present day riding 650 Interceptor, it really thrilling, so much power and pickup yet so easy to handle, just like any easy to run streetfighter. It may not be harley or triumph but it is very exciting, top class fit and finish, 20-60 kmph in second gear, i rode it in gurgaon traffic easily. all required features no extra bells and whistles, yes but missed one thing, that gear indicator, it must otherwise its such josh that changing gears will not come to riders mind.

after testing riding interceptor on 5th jan, i booked my continental gt 650 today as i liked its looks, better than interceptor. though i was waiting for some things to improve like gear indicator addition, some improvement in headlight before buying one, after seeing mostly +ve reviews and eagerness to get one i went ahead for booking. seeing the long queue i do not see any updates in near future. the waiting period is 45 days as per dealership. i plan to modify it little bit once i receive it. modification so that i can use it for long drives also.

though i have booked but planning to cancel continental and book ravishing red interceptor. as i planned to modify continental for occasional long rides, i thought of going for interceptor and than modify it to GT. the price difference of 15k saved on interceptor can be used for modification to ice queen white continental. as enquired from dealership the fuel tank will cost around 9k and 6k for continental handlebar.

i m sure we can put continental fuel tank and handle bar on interceptor. any experience any suggestion please.

You will have to get the GT footpegs assembly as well. That will cost another 6k.

Can we swap the rear tyre with a 180/80/18? of the classic or of the thunderbird ? 120/80/18 the stock tyres are terrible on dirt.

Guys, I've just installed the sump guard on my INT and every time I start up the engine I hear a low pitched plate rumbling noise the RE technician swears that it's normal and he has heard this noise from every INT on which he has fitted the sump guard on. Is this true? Can anyone who's put in the sump guard experienced anything similar? The sound is a low pitched rumble nose on the plate something like tapping a plate with your fingers type of noise.
