The closest comparison I would make is to my Rajdoot 350, which through the years have been running on salvaged parts, cdis and bored out barrels; which in fact despite its bastardised nature still smokes the interceptor.

The Int is smooth as the Japanese without the power, retro like the Europeans without the feedback.

An unsure figure filled with mixed afterthoughts, much like an indian immigrant, looking forward to the new country yet shackled by old superstitions.

This is the bike that should have been released in 1970's.

Perhaps its one way of ensuring that the current generation could get a taste of what was like when, when their fathers rode.

This is its redemption and perhaps the key, in todays generation of electronic jetskis.
It's performance is comparable to KTM 390, how can it be boring? What about the torque?

390 is never a boring motorcycle.

The 390 is a frantic motorcycle which begs to be ridden like a madman, meanwhile the Interceptor is a calm motorcycle which begs to be ridden sanely. I am guessing OP expected Duke 390 like power delivery.

The 0-100 timings maybe close but the way the the power is delivered is what makes them two poles apart.

If Duke 390 had the reliability of the japs it would have been no. 1 motorcycle in india . Bdw, i love interceptor too, it's an allrounder .

Make sure they fir everything correctly and do jot scratch the paint i heard from someone who had his tank replaced that fitting the fuel pump sort of a tuff job for the service center.

I tried to adjust it but still no difference. So are the bar end mirrors any good apart from the aesthetics? I am getting my GT on Wednesday and i want a better set of mirrors.
Touring mirrors are better in this regard don't know about barends.

Strange brother i found it to be stable on city and highway both , on the Highway till 120kmph it is stable post that u would need windshield to avoid the head winds.
Performance is good to it can be ferocia if u want to be ferocious with throttle.

Did 100kmph in 2nd gear few days back without any protest from engine and with the limiter bouncing on the red line. It was pure fun. The acceleration kicked me back in the seat.

The 390 is a cylinder less and still keeps up with the interceptor which is a twin and almost twice the displacement, so that is that. Torque delivery, to be put simply is a smoother RE 500

read my comment again in full, it was not just the speed, but a host of other factors.

120 is what my old cbr did and 160 when i wringed it. The interceptor is good on the tarmac, take it off on some dirt and it makes it weight felt very vocally and these roads that I have near Guwahati

Perhaps because I shifted from the rajdoot, it feels well, underwhelming, hence my conclusion earlier.
160 kmph from a 650 is just an underutilization of the capability, I hope it does not follow the harley, all that size no performance just 'feel' which is a waste of petrol and creation of noise.

I think people here are misunderstanding the Interceptor 650 with regards to power. The Interceptor boasts 'only' 47bhp and 52nm torque because RE wanted to target the A2 licensed riders in Europe, the Interceptor can produce a lot more power but then it wouldn't serve the purpose for whom it was created for.

People have done 180kmph+ without any issues and i have personally done 165kmph. Cbr 250 is not capable of 160kmph if u need proof then strap on something like vbox race logic.
What i said is that rider would need windshield for riding above 120kmph to avoid wind blast.
And this is jot meant for dirt tracks but still u can take it there .
