Sorry for the back-to-back posts,

Exactly my concerns about the bike, I want a bike which can do 100KPH whole day (without much stress on engine).
If I have to add so much of the mods, Then I would prefer Yamaha fz25 (costwise).

What the RPM when bike is at 100 KPH?
My requirement is very simple, I need a little stress free ride at 100 KMPH may be 200 RPM lesser than the stock.

Changing the final drive ratio will mess up the entire gear ratio.
Already second gear feels tall.
Adding one more teeth will mess up low end performance in offroads.

Hello everyone
I am posting after years of being away. I had a Bajaj Pulsar 200 (2009) and a Yamaha Gladiator SS (2009), both of which were sold in 2012 and 2017 respectively. I had spent a couple of years without any motorcycle until 2019 October, when I got the Hero Xpulse 200 Fi. The purchase was made mainly keeping in mind the commuting requirements looking at the state of roads in Bangalore. I have done about 3500+ KM till date with occasional trips between Bangalore and Mysore and one long tour between Bangalore & Coonoor and I hate to say this, but it's been a disappointing experience overall. I can say the biggest factor which fails Xpulse is it's engine, which is otherwise an excellent bike. Highway capabilities are poor because the best cruising speed is 90-95 KMPH and if you stack up the bike with enough luggage or a pillion then it gets worse. Also the ABS problem does no good and I have been in situations where I have almost crashed to the vehicle in front, because the brakes get jammed when the wheels are momentarily in air while taking a pot-hole or a speed breakers. Hero has started replacing the ABS unit I believe as seen on another forum for a rider from Kerala. Headlight is bad and not suitable for night rides outside city and I realized it was a stupid mistake on my part to ride through the Madumalai National Park in the evening at around 7 PM with poor illuminated lights. It was a scary experience, probably the one that taught me more about better preparation for long tours.

All the minor problems aside, I have been thinking of certain additions for the bike to make it a better experience. The list as planned during the lockdown is this:
1. BMC Airfilters (Currently under development for the Xpulse), PowerTronics ECU & a full system exhaust.
2. 1.5 inch Handle bar risers from Lluvia Industries and Aux lights from Maddog Industries.
3. Saddle stay and top rack from Zana International.
4. LED indicators made for the KTM Duke series.

Although I am still a little skeptical about the exhaust system because of one parameter, and that is the Exhaust Back Pressure. It is quite complex and involves lot of engineering to develop an exhaust that is capable of delivering optimal performance on all fronts. How efficient are these workshops or after-market product developers to build an exhaust that takes care of all these concerns is anyone's guess. Without the exhaust I see no point for an after market air filter or a standalone ECU. I would love to get some inputs from some of the experts in the forum here on what could possibly be done to counter the issue on hand. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

5) It's engine is derived from achiever/hunk/cbz platform. 160CC engine of Honda is different one. Reliability should be good.

Hello bhpians,

Can someone explain the

1) Highway performance of Xpulse 200.

2) Suspension duties of it during city and highway?

3) How good the suspension is with its preload and rebound.

4) How good the suspension difference is between normal motorcycles vs xpulse 200?

5) Engine quality? Can it be reliable and smooth like a Honda? Since the engine is derived from a Honda 160cc mill.

I'm about to get the bike keeping in mind with the worst ever road conditions in my state with a new road or a fly over being constructed everyday.

But also thinking to stretch the budget and go for a dominar. But I think the suspension won't handle it appropriately and I'm really concerned dominar will be abused during its life and I won't use it mostly on touring but a do occasionally.

Should I buy and use Xpulse 200 as my primary motorcycle? And upgrade to a better motorcycle after a short time and then use it as my secondary bike?

Hi,The best engine oil for hero bikes is Shell Ultra 10w40 fully synthetic.40 means upto 40 degrees ext temp oil will perform well.I am from kerala but took my bike Zmr in 2012 at banglore,after riding 1000 km with stock mineral oil, 10w30,i shifted to Shell Ultra fully synth10w40 and my god it is the best oil for hero engines..i have driven 62,472 kms with shell ultra and great smooth gear shift,smoother acceleration,cooler engine and i changed only once in 5000km and an oil flush also is not required as it is fully synthetic.At 55,000 kms post 6.5 yrs of use,i gave it for engine overhaul and believe me,the hero authorised service guy said all parts are well preserved.They just cleaned the head,put new pistom rins,and chaged one cam chain guide..Initially they said it wil be 15-20k for overhaul,but bill came to only 4750 total..thats coz for 61500 kms i have used only fully synth and also my weight is 107 kg,i always idle the bike at neutral for 20sec before going,i drive at 45-55km on 5th gear and i get a mileage of 48 in city and 55-57 in highway even after 8 yrs...

1. The speed is about 72-74 I believe. I've used the 200T and the sprocketing is a bit different but the speed figures should be the same.

2. Stock 10w30 minral oil from Hero. I use a good practice of changing oil at 2000kms or else when I run the bike regularly.

3. Spare parts are decently available here in Odisha and it doesn't sell that much even here, Should be more accessible in Bangy atleast.

4. Seat cushioning isn't the best or softest. I wonder if it's changed in BSVI. A lot of friends have got custom foam on theirs.

Hi. I have been following Hero Xpulse 200 ownership experiences since long.

I am slim, medium build, 5'-5", 29 years old, have been riding motorcycles since 2013 nearly 1 Lakh km experience.

Currently I have R15 v2.0 since 3 years, ridden ~35k kms, both in Bangalore city traffic & weekend tours. It lacks comfort & stiffly sprung suspension setup is giving me back pain as well as wrist pain recently.

I took Xpulse 200 Carb (Red color) from Royal Brothers for a weekend test ride (not, test ride, test small bike trip) to Bandipur/Ooty, and came back midnight, with a pillion. Tripmeter was 600+km in 22 hours.

The bike was due for service, as while coming back, service indicator was glowing for long.

The first & last impression about the bike is that I really like its suspension setup along with nimble handing even in ghats in ooty.

I am considering to buy Xpulse 200 Fi BSVI model, as it comes with Oil Cooling, selling R15.

I have few questions. I hope you guys can answer and give me a clear perspective.

1) The peak torque comes at 6500 rpm, what is the speed at that rpm in top gear, with stock sprocket setup?

2) Engine Oil grade & change interval?

3) Spare parts availability in Bangalore, say cone set / chain sprocket kit / handle bar / clutch assembly etc. which is not frequent for replacement?

4) Any cons except the seats (I am planning to remove some 1/2 inch layer & put some cushion as replacement)?

Doing saddle sore is like maintaining higher speed throughout the day, and One of my friend a done it on stock XPulse 200, however in his opinion bike was stressed at 100KPH.
If you read it carefully, I said changing sprocket is easier than changing gear wheels.
Please read last line of my earlier post carefully, it will make sense to you

What's the relation between someone doing saddle sore in a random stock bike Vs Xpulse, if someone did in Xpulse, pls let us know.

I don't agree with you,
It can be used as a touring machine if it would have 6th gear or a taller 5th gear.
I have seen people doing saddle sore (1600KM in 24 hrs) on stock bike. I think add a 6th gear or taller 5th is a big mod however adding a bigger (1 tooth) front sprocket is easier.

Anybody tried this mod. I hope there is enough space for it (unlike classic 500)

Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy a xpulse, however I am planning to use it as a tourer. I have few doubts.
1. Can it do 100 KPH whole day without stress.
2. If not Can I change the front sprocket to a bigger one to run it stress free.
3. If increasing the size of front sprocket is going to kill the performance of the bike.
