    What to do guys?
It is common in Xpulse. Do not worry, just run the bike for 2000kms and the noise will settle a bit. The refinement of this engine is very far from other Hero's (Honda) bikes.

    Other updates:

I have done close 3000kms so far..

    1) Very serious issue that many of us (Xpulse owners) are facing is with Front ABS. The moment you dive into a pothole, the ABS kicks in and the brake lever gets hard where you cannot apply the front brakes for about 2-3secs. During this time, if any vehicle comes in front of you.. there is a high chance of hitting the vehicle. If this happens on a highway, could become fatal. Even after repeated attempts of demonstrating this issue with Hero service technicians, service mangers, they are still clueless and not ready to accept.

    2) Mileage is very inconsistent on the bikes, am getting around 32kmpl. But few of them are squeezing out even 45kmpl.

    3) Accessories for the bikes has still not reached the showrooms even after 3 months they started selling the bikes.

    4) Cost of servicing and spares of the bikes are cheap which is a plus for maintenance of the bike. Also, the service experience is generally better than any other manufacturer that I have come across. Honda service is the worst of all Japanese here in Bangalore.

Make sure the valves are set properly according to the factory spec given in the manual. The idling engine clatter you are talking about seems normal for these engines. The clatter may increase a bit more when it gets hot. As long as the valve clearances are set right, no mileage or performance issue should come.

Hi Nanda, I booked FI variant in Chennai Adyar showroom and waited for 45 days but not available even those who booked before me didn't get the bike yet. I checked in Pondicherry, they had one bike which is Carb, test rode it and bought.

From what I heard, there seems to be supply issue from the vendor with the Fuel Injection system for the bikes, hence the production is delayed.

    2) Is spending 10K more for FI Version, is worth in long term ownership, by gaining that 2 or 3 Kms extra per liter (Sorry for this silly question....)
    3) While choosing Carb. version, we get only normal disc, other than the petal disc.. Is it make any difference other than the heat dissipation...like brake efficiency, brake pad life.... Is it possible to change it to petal discs after some years?
FI needs very less or zero maintenance compared to carb. You get consistent performance and mileage.

Carb will give slightly more punchy performance but it needs cleaning and returning every 20k km. And it's a headache to do as it requires skill and patience. Not every ASC/ local mech is good at carb tuning and a bad tune can ruin your bikes performance.

IMHO the additional cost for FI is worth it. Also FI xpulse gets metal bash plate and knuckle guards whereas carb gets plastic bash plate.

Edit- fibre bash plate in xpulse carb.
