Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Wow! Sexy!! Actually my original exhaust is kinda chipping off.. And it looks so bad and original costs rs 31000/- so I am trying to find an alternative for it which is not loud.. I do long distance travel in higher speeds in the range of 120kmph..so if it's loud, it will be tiring. Btw, how much you paid for Leo Vince carbon? Is there any advantage in full system? The sound itself is different in full system so is total output. I even planned to put N300 silencer which is far better and only need few modifications..

This thread rarely gets any post and I'm sure the no. of Ninja 250s would have reduced on xbhp as well, so I try to contribute in almost every query posted here.
Going for track day this weekend, will share more pics then.

I still have my ninja 250 with me...

All the best for the track..

Man..I just saw the pics on the PC, they're so bad. I posted them through the App and that's the best it could manage. Let me know if you need better pics.Originally posted by Mithungo View PostThank you. That was quick

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
I had the short levers on my Ninja 250, but I removed the brake side one as it didn't push the brake piston on the handle bars to the max. The only advantage I felt was the lack of movement of your fingers around the lever which gives you a more firm grip while using them in traffic.
For exhaust, I have a leo vince Carbon slipon, mainly for the less weight. Power difference is 1-2bhp only however it translates to a lot on track because of the less weight. Stock is 6.8kg while the slip on is only 1.5kg. Main difference is in the torque which you will feel earlier in the Rev range. Top speed comes much earlier as the rpm climbs much faster. This all won't make much difference in streets but on the track it easily cuts few seconds of your time. Sound of a slipon is like 10-15% more than stock so you won't attract the cops or any undue attention till you're somewhere around 6-7rpm or higher. Even R15 sounds worse with some local exhausts. Ninja anyways is a twin so won't give you that trouble. Don't have info on indicators though.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Hi guys,
Need some info's. I am planning for a shorty clutch and brake lever. Is there any advantage/disadvantage in using a short or long one? Then I am seriously drooling over the LED blinkers from AVRI. But heard I have to put relays, custom led blinkers and all? Is it a head ache or little effort? Please let me know if someone have put a full system exhaust (any difference in sound and output with slip on?) .. I don't want a loud one, but more docile. Something like AREA P Quite core. Please help me regarding these.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Hi,
All your criteria will be fulfilled and many more that u have never had. Sourcing parts is not an issue if you have deep pockets and time. It's an utterly reliable bike which only needs basic servicing. Accident repairs and basic replacement parts will be very costly and u will cry seeing the parts price if you are upgrading from a TVS. Ull find a good bike for 1.75l don't get anything cheaper than that. If it does have a proper service record, don't even bother to buy a bike that I'd clocked even 60k than a bike with 15k without any records.. Can tamper the meter easily.. Go for a test ride, if it's showing unusual vibes, avoid.. If it's wallowing, avoid, if it's not nimble, avoid, if brake is pulsating, avoid... There are a lot of things ull get from Internet like this.. Have a happy ride ahead.

Re: Considering a used Ninja 250r
- it should have a vibe free, smooth engine which can cruise comfortably at 100 - 110 --Check. You can even do more without issues.Originally posted by ags1773 View PostI'm looking for a worthy upgrade from my apache 180 in the 1.2 - 1.5 lakh range. - it should be low on maintenance (I don't like visiting the ASC every Thursday)
- it should be exciting to ride
I think a used ninja 250r fulfills all the above criteria. However, as the Ninja 250r is discontinued, will I have a hard time sourcing spares for it? I intend to keep it at least for the next four years and use it everyday. Thanks in advance!

Regarding the spares - N250 has been around for some time and has large number of aftermarket accessory\spare kits available - so you can always source parts if needed. Although I have never faced spare issue till now, some spares will take time for SVC for bring - consider a lead time of 1-2 weeks.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
It looks to be in the front side of the engine. The oil from the chain can't reach that place. Even if it's a leak you don't need to worry, that max it would be is a gasket change. Front disc rotor is for 15-17k. I would recommend after market ones

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Hi peeps, I am thinking of buying a used ninja 250r (2010 model, 20k km run) and wanted your opinion regarding an oil leak that I noticed.

To me, it looks like the previous owner has put too much lube on his chain and that oil has deposited here (I'm just guessing, I'm probably wrong). What do you guys think? Kawasaki mech is saying there's no oil leak in engine (the mech had gone for lunch break when I discovered this leak). Other than this and worn out disc rotors, the bike is in good shape.
