Honestly, what is there to void Bajaj warranty? This guy has just pasted vinyl on the bike. It does not interfere in any way with engine or bodyparts. So there is no question of warranty getting void.

See customization of a bike is absolutely personal choice. Who are we to judge anyone? he has paid for the bike and paid for customization and has complete right to do whatever he likes. Personally I also did not like the lettering but why should we post comments on it?

            • Thanks, I will first see how the green tail covers look with the 2010 green rear seat. If it looks yuck, then I might get a black one shipped over. At any rate, I have also asked for a lime green seat cowl from the Bangalore showroom which should blend in perfectly with the L green tail covers.

Hmm, somehow I feel that black tail panels are totally outta place on the lime green one. About seats I feel rear green might still blend in once the tail panels are made green!
What about carbon fibre accessories like this? http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30914
Do they gell well with the green or only black?
I saw something called snake skin on the site I posted above, pg.14 I think. I can't understand what it is-any ideas?

Btw here is a nice cosmetic add on list for the Ninja I could think of in case I bought one:
                1. Single seat cowl
                2. Tinted bubble screen
                3. Seat covers-front&rear
                4. Tank pad
                5. Rear disc brake oil cap logo
                6. Rim stripe tapes
                7. Frame sliders no cut
                8. Logo bar ends
                9. Swing arm spools
                10. Pazzo clutch&brake levers
                11. Carbon fibre chain cover&hugger set

P.S. Do you know Japanese? I have been to Japan twice&work as a bilingual Bridge Software Engineer.

                • @L.P and trust vishwas - even im not happy with the lettering on the rear cowl. But at that time in the night i was so tired, that i simply went with it. Its gonna get changed soon. But i thought that the rest of the stickering was ok???

                  • ^^ honestly i kinda liked the lettering. bout the tribal graphics, did u not like the red ones that u had put on before the gray ones, that wd'v rlly pimped it up however there is a possibility of the bike lukin a lil dhinchak

went to the indiranagar pbk today, gotta say the black ninja is kinda growing on me, it has a stealthy look, was wondering how it would look in matte black?? clicked some photos too, although a little late in coming. The guy there mentioned that bajaj is looking to give some paid test rides, guess a lot of emphasis is laid on the views of xbhp members.

I haven't got my bike yet (maybe next week), but am all set with functional accessories! I will get the single seat cowl sometime next week - and I will definitely pick up the A-Tech carbon fibre hugger, side covers and mirrors in March when I am in Japan. For now, this is what I have:

                        1) Lime green OEM tail covers (picked them up in Melbourne)

                        2) Xena XZZ6L Disc Lock alarm (with cable lock reminder). This thing is LOUD. I was trying to set the battery up in the office - wrong thing to do. The alarm went off and everyone jumped out of their seats! My ears are still ringing. 120 decibels, the cover says.

3)Progrip carbon tank pad, blue swingarm spools and paint guard (clear):

                        4) Cute Kawasaki Ninja rubber key chain

                        5) Venture tail bag and RJAY's sportsbike panniers. I liked these better than the oxford ones and they cost less too. Kevlar and flame retardant.

                        6) Oxford motorcycle rain cover with holes for locks and center stay(bottom left):

Also got two 6mm bolts which should come in handy when the Saree guard comes off. Hope I don't have to use ugly looking washers after using these!

Actually I don't mind the current gauges...

I paid 3.10 on road for the bike - the progrips were $35 Oz dollars (Australia is very expensive). I did not pay any duty over and above the price I bought all of these for since I hand carried them from Melbourne personally.

                            • has anyone installed frame sliders yet ?

                              Comment

                              • I did not buy one because I am uncomfortable cutting the sprocket cover (Shogun), fixing the mounting bolt to the engine casing (Sato) or having the potential impact of the fall on the main engine bolt (Intuitive). The only one which I like are the oggy frame sliders made by promoto, but they aren't available freely.

In short, the Ninja 250R is a not a frame slider friendly motorcycle. I am just going to apply paint guard on key areas of the bodywork and leave it at that for now.
