  • ^^ the pull is amazing till 140. you need to start crouching to avoid the wind blast and also to be more aerodynamic.. It pulls cleanly to 150-155.. ( thats what ive touched atleast )

Not putting pressure on the bars will help you save your bacon when the time comes.
2.The bike will become more throatier with increasing kms and feel harshrough. if u think its vibrating waaaay too much then take it to the service centre as it could be the fairing.
      3. Your bike is new...so its gonna be a hard ride for a while untill the suspension gets broken in. Dont worry about it..for you shall get used to it in no time and once the engine break in is done you shall actually come to appreciate the sporty suspension. The rear can be changed to soft settings..if u ask me it makes a difference setting it up on soft but still is pretty harsh on the ass. With time, the front and rear will compress and stiffen at a better rate.

      Enjoy the kwacker !
      Thanks Tenhut

varandha road was 100 times better than the my native palce drive of 3 kms after reaching Poladpur. It took almost 20 mins to cover the 3 km patch. I had to find "road" in that so called road . While going downhill I scrapped the belly of the bike twice

Ouch. I wont be doing any such thing on a Ninja. Payin thru my butt for this.

Yeah i agree on the investment part. Lets see how much i manage to save to buy the goodies. Its gonna be a stage by stage addition.

thanks a ton for the replies guys. i appreciate it.

Hey tenhut: Hope all is well on your side. Do you think the PBK guys will be able to set up the soft settings for the suspension? I've been filling 28psi in the front & 24psi in the rear tyre to help me get a softer ride. I think it is helping or maybe its just in mind. Thanks -Karan.

i second jd666 .. its a clean pull till around 145 kmph & then the speedo goes real slow. i've not got the opportunity to take it above 150.. but i guess the key to doing 165 kmph or may be 170 kmph if possible "quickly" is to shift up in 6th gear only after you touch 145-150 kmph which i guess is 13000 rpm in the 5th gear...once you shift up @ 150 kmph into 6th ...my guess is you will be at 11000 rpm in the 6th & you will have 2000 rpm of power left to take you to maybe 165-170kmph.

                • ^^ dont run too low a pressure on your rear, your chances of damaging the rim go up. Maintain normal pressure. i think the rear can be adjusted for a softer setting.

i guess 30-40% of the sbk videos i've watched on youtube have frame sliders. i'm sure they must be helping in the event of a crash. I got the shogun crash kit for my bike. The one good thing is that i got with the kit are bar end sliders which are slightly longish & super light. The good part is that the bike feels a lot more sportier once you have the bar end sliders since they are very light compared to the stock bar ends. The handle vibrates much more & gives you a really sporty feel on the wrists when you pull the bike to higher rpms.

@jd: I was just going through my post.. I've been actually filling 28psi in the rear & 24psi in the front.

I did have a look at the shogun crash kit and it involves some cutting to the crank box or so. Cant remember but will upload the installation guide which mentions some modification is needed on the bike although the product is No Cut sliders.

Could you please tell me if you had to cut something on the bike to fit the sliders (esp. the frame sliders) or was it Bolt-On? Where did you buy it and where was it installed? I doubt if the bajaj service guys can do this for me.

Try the softest setting and resort to mannerisms of lifting ur bum off the seat slightly while squating on the footpegs when the ride gets bumpy.

Not adhereing to the tyre pressure psi levels will simply result in abbhorent loss of performance. + will be bad and so will - be.

EDIT : i thought u were from pune*

Raj - get a FZ16 hugger for your Ninja first, it saved my rear shock from being smothered in mud. For other stuff, I am sure active Pune members can help you. Great to know you are going to get your Ninja soon!
@ bluevolt yes i did have the hugger in mind rahul...but only problem is im not too dextrous when it comes to installing it ....do u think pbk guys would be able to do it or shud i go see some local mechanic...although i wouldnt want some body experimenting with the ninja
