Hi RE500 Owners, I need your help to help my Friend who owns an RE 500 Stealth Black 2018 Model.

He is facing an issue with the Battery where the Battery contacts burn out due to spark/Arcing at the contacts.

This leads to him not being able to start the Bike.

This has now happened many times and he is considering selling his new Bike.

Do you have any solution to this problem or a recommendation of a good service center in Bangalore?

      Hi Gurus,

Need some help! after a brief hiatus I got back to motorcycling world and picked up a pre-worshiped 2016 DS 500 with 4200 KMs on the ODO. This is my first stint with a royal enfield and the experience has been great so far barring one issue that I have been facing, after riding the motorcycle in heavy traffic the bike tends to stall as if it has run out of fuel. If I were to turn it off and ride if back again after 10-15 mins it rides normally, so based on my limited experience with bullets I am guessing its overheating?

On a side note ,I did get the oil changed, the spark plugs and the air filter cleaned just a few days back but the issue persists. Also, the previous owner did install a cannon performance exhaust if this info helps at all I also have the stock silencer with me which I am planning to revert to see if the custom exhaust is causing the issue but love the thump of the cannon exhaust so would want to confirm first before I change it.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

      Cheers,
      Amit.

Royal Enfield have launched scale models for the 500's. If anyone's interested, here's the link to it --> https://store.royalenfield.com/collections/scale-model . The models are 1:12 in scale.
        Honda Dio [2010 - 2011]
        Yamaha YZF R15 V2 [2011 - Present]
        Yamaha YZF R3 [2016 - Present]

        What's next? :)

          Hello RE owners..

I have completed 27K kilometers on stock tyres and now looking for a change, I am looking for something better than the stock tyres. Please suggest which tyres to go for which provides good grip even in rains. ??

            Hi.
I own a Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black and at this point facing some serious issues. I purchased my vehicle in March 2019. The run in was done properly and the vehicle ran smoothly with normal vibrations. In month of August after I had done ~4000 KMs on one unfortunate day me and my friends were trying to kick start the bike. We were trying and learning how to properly kick start the bike in one kick itself. We jumped on the kick started for around ~40 minutes. The kick slipped many times and many times the vehicle started. From the very next I started experiencing heavy vibrations and rattling. Earlier the vibrations used to kick in at 60kmph @ 3rd gear and 80kmph @4 th gear. The shaky vibrations start at 40kmph on 3rd gear and I feel them even while decelerating. They rattle the vehicle even when decelerating with throttle closed and stay while the the speed decreases by ~20kmph. For example 80 to 60 on 4th gear. The acceleration is also not linear and I feel the shaky pulling. I took it to service center and they simply ignored it saying that 500 has vibrations and these are normal ones. Now the vibrations have gone down a bit because of the parts been worn out. Now I have around 9000 KMs in the odo. I made them open the left side case but they say that they find everything fine when it's actually not. I am not able to figure out what the kick starter could damage that resulted in these vibrations. Please let me know if you have encountered any issues like this or if you have any idea.

If you have not already changed tyres then plz check out Ralco SpeedBlaster series. This variant is available for both front and rear tyres.

These tyres have Chunky block pattern and offer good grip even on dusty roads. They lean more towards mild off-road use. Tread pattern is similar to the Ceat tyres that come as OE on Himalayan.

I have been using Ralco Speedblasters on my Classic 500 Chrome for about 6 months now. Have no reason to complain. Plz make sure that you change your tube as well when changing tyres. You can PM me for any further details.

              Ride safe and stay safe.

Has your problem been resolved...perhaps you could have the fuel pump checked. There are times when poor quality petrol or water presence in petrol leads to the fuel pump getting choked. It would also be worthwhile to have the entire fuel tank emptied completely and have it cleaned. I usually do it once in a year.

Are you experiencing some misfiring issues as well. If so it is best to take it to RE ASS. They have a diagnostic tool which checks all electronics in FI bikes. Most of the times the fault is due to a malfunctioning sensor or a choked fuel filter.

                Ride safe and stay safe.

Hi, thanks for the revert! You are right ,the problem was with water making its way in the tank. The tank was rusted inside and had to be changed. However, I moved to a Interceptor 650 now.

Good for you. I have an Interceptor 650 in addition to my Classic 500 as well.

On a connected note, though OT plz do check the rubber washer inside the Interceptor 650 fuel cap. Mine has a tear and needs to be replaced under warranty. What it leads to is that whenever I tank up to the brim, on hard braking, fuel tends to spill out. This has been reported on other forums as well. There are some videos on Youtube as well. Also this can get dangerous as fuel that spills onto a really hot engine or crankcase can catch fire.

Conversely, if fuel spills out, rainwater can also get in. It will be worth a check. Thanks

                    Ride hard, stay safe.

Thanks for the heads-up buddy will have a look at the washer. I anyway try and avoid filling petrol to the brim so this shouldn't be a concern but will check nevertheless. Cheers!
